Light Attacking is Broken? (and animation priority)

    Please bring the old system back completely, I also noticed that there's a problem with Block Cancelling groundaoes. Often I get the circle although Quickcast is on, even on my other bar. For example, I can then use Endless Hail while I'm on my DW Bar^^ I think all of this has to do with a strange cooldown that triggers when an Animation is cancelled and the cooldown seems longer the longer the Animation was.
    If ZOS wants to keep animation cancelling like they said they should bring it back to full, this way it's just clunky and it creates an imbalance, classes with quick skills like Nightblades can cancel way faster than others. The same goes for your choice of weapon.
    Just for better understanding: I'm not talking about skills with a cast/channeltime, pure animation.

    Weaving looks way better than when the patch deployed, but I'm still experiencing some light attacks that just don't fire at all. you get stucked on the weaving animation if you try too fast, or the game just skippes your light attack completly. It's particularly annoying when trying yo proc kena or reliably counting attacks for the merciless resolve proc.

    Hopefully it will get better next patch.

    My light and heavy attacks arent firing at all. They're hit and miss. This NEVER happened before the DB patch...................Please ZOS look into this.

    I am experiencing this quite often, and have died quite a few times in lagstrom because of it.

    I'm having an issue with frags. While not experiencing any unusual latecy, I'll get a frag proc. I attempt to cast it, and instead start hard casting frags. (Something that happens when there is lag.) If I block cancel, I get stuck in an animation of the hard casting the frags and it plays the beginning of the animation 2 or 3 times before clearing up. It feels like the same amount of time it would take to do the whole animation.

    I've been thinking it's lag or my timing is off, but with people talking about getting stuck in animations, I wonder.

    Any other sorcs experiencing this issue?

    This happens in PVP and PVE. Light and heavy attacks LITERALLY go right over the enemys head with 0 hits, no damage.

    This is happening ALOT, frequently on a daily basis since DB patch.

    Even if the enemy is not using shuffle, light and heavy attacks still miss.

    What the He## has happened to this game?

    Keep the thread alive guys, these are all serious issues. I know they can't be fixed in a week but a clear answer from ZOS would be very appreciated, please tell us what exactly you changed so we have a chance to adapt until it gets fixed.

    Most of the time when I die now, it's because my fingers are going 10x faster than what the game is registering. I will wep swap to toss a shield and wep swap back to Destro bar to find that my FKIN shield never went up. I hate it, I hate the slow delay on wep swap and I hate the new priorities. I want skills to be as responsive as I am to pressing them.

    Yes I am have the exact same problem. Thought it was just me doing something wrong because I am new to Sorc (trying something new for flavor). But I am for sure having this same issue with frag procs then back to hard cast without ever getting off the free frag

    Arrgh!! Seems issue went away for me for a week, since my last post and rant, but happening again throughout yesterday's gameplay. Sheesh.. Not sure about today's yet.

    I don't know if I got used to it or if my ping or having 10fps (5fps on Ozara in vSO) is just worse than the animation priority but I'm not really having problems anymore. I can weave with my stamblade/stamsorc and I can weave with my magblade and mag dk just fine, I think you just have to sort your button timing and it works as good as before.
    Also, the bug when a heavy attack is charging to full killed me a few times in msa, msa crashes at least 1 time since db for me so it feels like it'ss impossible to get flawless on any other char now.
    The autocast ground aoe is what I turned off immediately, I tested it on the PTS when they released it and I double casted eruption all the time, once on my backbar, once on my frontbar after 2-3 weaves when the skill got enough time to cast itself on a bar, where the skill isn't even slotted. You might work that into your rotation to get some more dps.. ;D

    i completely agree, the animations feel a bit clunky and messed up. i got used to it on sorc (but its still annoying) but i find it much worse on nb. pls revert animation changes back to how they were last patch!

    As I posted in my own thread complaining about this very same thing, ZoS has come out and flat out said the animations on screen are NOT in synch with when you press the buttons because the light attack animation is prioritized over everything (except blocking...nice for ZoS to be inconsistent.

    This is not a bug, but precisely how they designed it and completely intentional.

    As @Zos_EdLynch notes: "That second, interrupting ability still happens the moment you activate it, the only difference is that the beginning few frames of that animation will be obscured by the impact/launch of the preceding one," i.e., when you press a button, the game will NOT give you any indication that action was performed even though it was processed.

    If you rely on actually watching your character for attacking, animal cancelling, or anything, like that, the game is going to feel unresponsive because it will prioritize an attack animation no matter what buttons you press.

    Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    This doesn't explain how abilities can completely lock up and nothing happens for 2-3 seconds at a time until 5 abilities randomly all burst off at once in a rapid flurry.
