Exactly. I hate the lazy label for this. If I was very weathly and had a good amount of disposable income, I'd probably buy the motifs too. Why not? It isn't like they are challenging to get you can buy them for gold. I'd rather spend time in game doing the things I want to do, not motif or gold farming.
I agree wholeheartedly. However, I would hazard a guess at the majority of players not being as wealthy

I dont see how they find it justifiable to ask, basically, the cost of buying a whole new game for one item in a game. i mean WTF. 3000 crowns is the most it should cost, 2500 sounds perfect to me. Sorry 1000 crowns is the most because 1500 and up is DLC categories but then again ppl complained about motifs being on the crown store cutting into their in game profits so it was all brought about due to greed overall.-PC (PTS)/Xbox One: NewBlacksmurf

I keep running to ppl who are giving away 4-5 motifs at a time so it's pretty much not based on accessibility or in game pricing and value. Just seems more of a high price based on ppl crying about crown store motif cutting into their in game profits. I really doubt the finance department were worried about that Plus, it's not just motifs. The costumes are 5k now too. Mounts as well. They have no bearing on in-game economy. 2 -

✭✭Well, all motifs that are not base game and reasonably easy to get are priced the same, so I don't see the fuzz. Prices in guild stores have gone to below 10k a piece, with most pages 8k and less if you take some time searching.
While I do have a leveled DC char, I only visit Cyrodiil on my reds, but I still have all three motifs complete and I didn't buy a single page for more than 9k.
I appreciate that console prices are higher, but then those motifs one can get should sell for the same.
Crown store motifs have always, and will always be "pay for laziness". Checking the main trade locations once a week is not that much of a hassle.1 -

The Imperial motif has been out in the crown store for well over a year at a 5K crowns price point, and nobody really complained about that, considering that they cost only 30-40K in the guild market--you can buy maybe two or three chapters of an alliance motif with that kind of gold. If you want to talk about bad value, talk about Imperial.
Frankly, I don't think these things should be in the Crown Store to begin with. If you want to get them, earn them the normal way. Or, if you don't want to grind them out, then you can buy them--by participating in the player economy and acquiring them from other players.
If we're going to have stuff in the Crown Store that lets people bypass gameplay--whether its motifs or consumables that compete against player-crafted items--then there should be substantial barriers that discourage people from taking this option. 5K crowns is fine. If you don't like the price (and you shouldn't), then don't buy it and get it normally (and you should). they are cheap already. I sell em for 1k each because every crafter already has the full set of motifs, everyone had them the first day they released because the arena was glitched.
go into area chat in a busy area (or the sewers) and you could honestly get these motifs for free, especially if your a lady.0 -

Either zos have gone the way of f2p developers and given into temptation or the higher ups are demanding greater profits and it's the quickest fix for em.
