Well, unfortunately, adding glass styles didn't lower their value much, but here's hoping.

I think this is because they cost so much to make, and it dosent seem worth it.
I have 384 Glass fragments sitting in my bank from writs and I probably won't even merge them for motifs, I'm sure I'm not the only one either.

About the same as usual shiny new motifs after the first month or two - chests/legs/helms go for a lot, axes/maces/belts go for next to nothing. I only have EP characters and I probably spent less than 250k on AD and DC motifs, which isn't that bad considering I did it not long after they came out. Helps to shop around at traders in different alliances (e.g. if you were looking for EP motifs, go to Mournhold traders since they're probably EP-focused, AD go to Rawl'kha).

I mean hey, apparently people are just sitting on fat stax of crowns and don't want to spend them on stuff you can't obtain with gold/grinding. More power to them, I guess?

That's so great for them

I've noticed everything in the Crown Store is getting rather expensive. The 1500 crowns a month with ESO plus only gets you so far if you want anything at all now. It's not just saving for that one mount or limited time costume - you're saving for everything. Hence why people cave and buy crowns instead. Sadly I can't afford to spend £71 today

It is expensive, yes... but since we can find those motifs while playing, it is not a big deal. I wouldn't purchase, tho.

Oh no, I hear you entirely. I bought a 5500 pack so I would have enough for the stuff cycling out this month that I wanted in addition to the Breton hero costume, even though my sub renews this month.. which I guess is exactly what ZOS wanted. Gah, I really hope they're not retiring stock every month.

For convenience stuff like this, though, I'd really rather just buy it with gold or grind it out. I wonder what the demographic of people who buy crown motifs are like. In the end it's their money so I'm not judging, but curiosity, y'know?

Yeah I'm wondering that too. I'm convinced they'll retire stuff every month in an attempt to rush sales. Either their finances are so great that they're happy to charge us extortionate prices or they're so bad they need the money quickly.

I'll be buying them using gold not crowns, for sure. It's just an indication of where the Crown Store is going is all.

Ironically, the motif sales seem to be more with newer players, as far as I can tell. I still remember all the threads from people who bought Dwemer or Daedric and were trying to figure out how you got the associated style stones.

Yeah, I sprung for the gloss motif when it hit the crown store, but at the rate they are introducing Motifs, that would add up really fast. 5K for a Motif is really step considering crafting is no longer a profitable venture and you typically make 1-2 sets of a style at most. Good thing we have costume dying soon. That will be better than trying to mix/match sets anyways.

Seems like the new norm for the crown store, sadly.

Used to be you could get packs of 3 costumes for 1k or less. Now the investors are apparently hammering them to milk 1k+ per costume.

Special mounts used to be 2500-3k tops. Now they're 3500-4k and who knows.

Which is odd to me since a TON of people re-subbed when they added crafting bags.

Lazy people with lots of disposable income that want everything RIGHT NOW, and lazy kids who are either spending their parents money, or don't know how dangerous credit card debt can be.

Exactly. I hate the lazy label for this. If I was very weathly and had a good amount of disposable income, I'd probably buy the motifs too. Why not? It isn't like they are challenging to get you can buy them for gold. I'd rather spend time in game doing the things I want to do, not motif or gold farming.

I agree wholeheartedly. However, I would hazard a guess at the majority of players not being as wealthy
