Not true. Khajiit gets to practice sarcastic/clever/funny responses on threads like this. This one also gets to realise which members of the forums may or may not have been hitting the Skooma.

People cheat -> they got ban for 3 weeks -> ZOS lift their ban so they can keep buying new DLCs. Ok, I got it. And... I have no problem with it. If they keep buying stuff to support a game I love, then welcome. If they cheat again, they will get ban again. Some may argue "but they can keep everything they got from cheating". Maybe, maybe not, we can't be sure, ZOS don't talk about what they did, however, 3 weeks is probably enough to make more than what they got from cheating just by playing normally. So... I don't care if it's a PR stunt or not. They got what they deserve. And don't tell me people who use gap closer glitch don't go to the forums so they don't know about that. Cyrodiil zone chat talk about this glitch almost everyday when there are people exploit it. And I mean exploit it over and over, not accidentally use it.

I think the people who where using the survey glitch should be banned as well. Ban all cheaters, for the integrity of the game. I know a few of the people who used the massive survey glitch and they brag all the time that they made 20 million gold or more and only got banned for 3 dam days smh.

ZOS has never come down hard enough on cheaters. This has spawned an exploit early exploit often culture for which players can really not be blamed. Certain players took advantage of certain exploit's for years to have near invincibility in PVP and were never banned. Those players were so well known that even casual PVPers like me knew of them as they did it all day every day. Obviously when the cheat engine started to become visible ZOS had a problem of another magnitude on their hands. The way I look at it they basically punished those that made them look bad at that point. I am still not convinced that this effort to root out the cheaters went beyond individual cases were videos were sent to them. I have not been made aware of actual efforts to implement any cheat detecting system which seems to me should a basic step taken.

As for bugged skills, bugged sets, and bugged enemies, I honestly (not being hyperbolic here) find it rather hard sometimes to figure out what is bugged and what is not. Tooltips have never been right for most skills and often no semblance of balance seems to exist to judge right based on. Take infallible. As set designed for ranged magica DPS toons, it used to have a heavy attack bonus that said it proced on fully charged attacks but proced on all heavy attacks so on what we call a medium weave. Now it has been "fixed" so that it only works on fully charged attacks. Well, except for on resto staffs which it procs on any heavy and lightnings which it procs 3 times on (VMA staff does this also). Now, you tell me what is intended. As it was in 1.5 the tooltip was wrong but it was useful for all the presumably intended builds. Now the tip is wrong in a different way and it is not worthwhile for most builds to do the full charge to get the proc and therefore is a worthless bonus. However, if you have the VMA shock staff and are a sorc or DK you can build totally around the triple proc for a build that most think is unintended but is also really the only reasonable use of a shock staff and also the only way to get any actual benefit from that bonus on infallible. I don't know for a moment what ZOS intends. Do they intend a worthless 5 peice kicker bonus or a special triple procking shock staff build? I have some trouble deciding what they intend on many bosses as well. Certainly many of the strats we are currently using in VSO seem basically glitched out but many of the recent changes broke mechanics in such a way that older organized strats seemed deliberately broken these ways work. Really, I don't think that any new strategies were even thought of by the dev team. I think they just changed some things without any intended new strategy and just left it to us to figure one out which we did, kinda. At this point I certainly cannot advocate banning anybody for any skill, gear, or strategy exploit. Who can really tell whats intended.

Bottom line, ZOS has made bad decisions. ZOS is now severely understaffed. I have a hard time blaming players in a competitive environment for adjusting to the referees.

Forums or not people I can't imagine anyone wouldn't know it was an exploit. This wasn't a do one time and got banned... People have exploited this over and over and over and over(I seriously can't even keep writing enough overs, to cover how many times people have abused it) again.

But hey, it's not that bad right? Cheating is fine, as long as you say so.

now where at a situation now where ZOS decides to pretend to take cheating seriously, "perma-ban" people as their PR stunt, and then unban them later. and they decide to use this trick to ban anyone that does any sort of glitch now. for example, now ZOS goes straight to banning those that did the gap closer glitch, (even though many of them didn't even know it was a glitch), in order to do their PR stunt to say "ZOS takes cheating very seriously."

now many people are victims to ZOS's excessive PR stunt bans, and they have gone ban crazy. they are going ban crazy on all these innocent people now just to say "we take cheating very seriously." most likely everyone will end up getting an unban later anyway, but it still sucks for many of us that have to deal with their stupid bans just in order for them to pretend that "they take cheating very seriously."

anyway this is just my theory of what's going on now and why they did what they did. you guys can tell me your opinions.

In every mmo I have played over the many years I have played mmo's all the other companies were much faster to react to cheating and heavy perma bans long suspensions came with that, ZOS was a bit slow to respond, but once they did I think they realized that cheating and exploiting was running rampant in this game and has cast a dark cloud over the community.

I was in Cryodiil the day the cheat engine came to light and it was like night and day, all those god like players were now dying like us average players, gone was the guy that stood out in front and let 20 people beat on him while not taking damage, then after a few days they started to return. Unfortunately there seemed to be a lot of players using the cheat engine, I think more than most of us imagined at least that is the perception it is leaving.

Using a third party program is pretty serious and deserves a real perma ban no second second chances, using exploits of broken game mechanics to obtain gain in the game should get you some kind of suspension. I think it is shame that players resort to such game play and cause the company to spend man hours and money to fix things like this when that time could have been invested in game improvements and content. In the unlikely event you get banned and were not cheating contact ZOS and they will investigate, yes it is a pain but there will be some collateral casualties of the cheating war.

I hope now that ZOS seems to be doing the right thing that those who still want to play the game will delete those third party cheats an learn to play with out them, in the end a cheater are only cheating themselves out of meaningful gaming experience.

So wait if the code is bugged and I ambush some dude at the door and end up inside the keep I should be banned. Now in my case I typically don't want to be in that keep and try to get out or just die! I get you want to ban the ones who exploit this but some of us don't exploit it and it happens to us. Are you saying just go ahead and ban me for life?
