Ban them all ZoS. Make it lifetime.
In most (if not all) MMOs I played, glitch exploiting was a bannable offense. Granted, I'm a MMO veteran and the only two "modern" MMOs I've played was this one and GW2.
Did it stop being a thing on newer MMOs or something?

you do realize you can use a gap closer and the glitch can happen *unintentionally*, right? and your reading comprehension is off. let me break it down nice and simple for you. zos perma bans you as a PR stunt to pretend like they take cheating seriously, when they really don't. then they unban people. do you understand that?

you haven't addressed anything my post said and proved you can't read.

Could you please then tell me what you meant with this? Because yes, since English is not my first language, I might very well have misunderstood it, but it seems that you believe that ZOS shouldn't ban people using the gap closer glitch, although that is glitch exploiting.

Geez. You type your second language better than most forum goers type their primary language.
Looks like another person is trying to get their story straight before they get banned. Just stop cheating and you should be okay.

It doesn't take rocket science to check the logs and look at your character stats at the time of the incident to find out what happened.

i was not banned for anything gameplay related, so please can everyone stop saying that? my post is about bans being used as a PR stunt. do you guys disagree with that?
CokeVoAYCE wrote: »EDIT--- P.S. : remember no one discuss any personal disciplinary action. ZOS is just waiting for an excuse to close this thread.
so.. it appears ZOS has gone a little ban crazy lately. this is partly due to us, but it's mainly all ZOS's fault. i'll explain: so back when cheating was going on ZOS would ban no one. the reason for this is quite simple, their a company trying to maximize their profits and realize that even those cheating with cheat engine still pay for DLCs, new content, and often sub. money is good no matter who it comes from, cheaters and non-cheaters alike.
so the next event comes along.. -- the cheat engine epidemic blows up, and everything becomes aware of it. people also become aware of ZOS's inaction to ban people, and they start unsubbing. they also take screen caps of their unsub and share it to get others to join in, resulting in more unsubs. now ZOS is losing money and is in the tight corner of either having to ban cheaters to keep good players subbing, or let the good players unsub and keep the cheaters money.
next, what do they decide to do? they decide to try and get the best of both pies. like having their cake... and eating it too. they decide to announce that they perma-banned plenty of cheat engine cheaters, and release a number like (42 perma-bans i think it was)? that was their PR stunt to get all the good players to resub and keep any good players from unsubbing. it was only a PR stunt. then few weeks later once the hype died down a little bit they decided to unban some of those that were perma-banned, and start getting that cheater money again too.
now where at a situation now where ZOS decides to pretend to take cheating seriously, "perma-ban" people as their PR stunt, and then unban them later. and they decide to use this trick to ban anyone that does any sort of glitch now. for example, now ZOS goes straight to banning those that did the gap closer glitch, (even though many of them didn't even know it was a glitch), in order to do their PR stunt to say "ZOS takes cheating very seriously."
now many people are victims to ZOS's excessive PR stunt bans, and they have gone ban crazy. they are going ban crazy on all these innocent people now just to say "we take cheating very seriously." most likely everyone will end up getting an unban later anyway, but it still sucks for many of us that have to deal with their stupid bans just in order for them to pretend that "they take cheating very seriously."
anyway this is just my theory of what's going on now and why they did what they did. you guys can tell me your opinions.
