The fact this community can't even just go "Okay, it's bad to do so we will all stop, we had our fun" and move on is shocking.

We're one of the most hostile and toxic communities I've ever seen in MMO gaming. It's really like first school on these forums with the clashes in ego and need to prove we're better than one another.

It's an exploit, it's now enforced, you stop, you move on and you give ZOS some critic where they failed (communication) there is really nothing else left to debate.

Could you please then tell me what you meant with this? Because yes, since English is not my first language, I might very well have misunderstood it, but it seems that you believe that ZOS shouldn't ban people using the gap closer glitch, although that is glitch exploiting.

You do realize that just because I provide an example of the main subject matter doesn't mean that that example is the main subject matter, right. That post has no flaws in it, you just read it wrong again.my main beef is then using vans as a or stunt to say they take cheating seriously.

Anyone calling gap closing onto a keep wall an exploit, has no idea what an exploit is.

This is not a crafty way to circumvent game mechanics. It's as simple as targeting an enemy and click a skill button. That's it.

This is an issue that was brought up multiple times on the PTS, and ZOS decided to do nothing before it went live. There hasn't even been an in-game announcement that using gap closers is a bannable offense, so how are the majority of users supposed to know to not use gap closers?

The multiple mundus stone exploit was an exploit. This is a bug that was brought up on the PTS, with a huge thread with video evidence.

It doesn't really effect PvP that much if you're aware of how the game works.

Simply play PvP normally and if you see something which seems out of place (like gap closers suddenly letting you do something not possible for the last two years) then report it to ZOS and don't partake in it.

I have no problem with some one being banned permanently for cheating, I do have a problem with permanent bans for exploitation.

both are circumventing the intended operation of the game. but one does it through third party software and manipulation, and the other does it due to the game producers lack of foresight or coding proficiency.

the issue is at what point do you say something is not intended?

obviously multiple survey loot with no survey consumption was not intended, but who was hurt by this?a few honest traders for a short time whilst prices dropped?.

and what about gap closing up a keep wall? how is it different from dragon leaping? the exploitation here isnt necesarily profit as much as ruining other peoples enjoyment or creating your own? the exploit comes from abusing such mechanic to circumvent another. (seiging without breaking outer wall)

but if i can dragon leap off why cant i dragon leap up? is it not sensible? and if i can dragon leap up why not gap close? its the same thing apart from ones an ultimate and the other isn't? who states one is right the other is wrong or both are wrong? if its wrong why can i do it? why is it in the game still? why was the game/live released with this being obviously possible

but only ones own moral compass can really say if it is right or wrong. what happens if you run a normal trials and are given CP160 loot? is this a bug is this meant to give max level loot? or am i exploiting a bug yet to be fixed? what happens when i run it normal at level 45 just to farm it. am i exploiting?

Unless you can clearly stipulate an exploit and have ZOS say dont do this! you cant legitimately punish people for the exploit. at least not permanently. sure a few days too cool off a slap on the wrist. but to do anything else would be bad. and if you can only slap them on the wrist, is it worth the time and resources to do that instead of fixing the issue?
