Cyrodiil in general has been a constant clutter of pointless zerg fests.
Okay, now comments like this kind of bug me. This isn't a one v one game, or even a small group game. There's a reason why the group size is 24. It's because it was designed for large groups.... And as for Zergs, I happen to pvp with a guild that puts together 24 man teams I'd stack up against any 100 man Zerg any day of the week, twice on weekends. And we do go up against them and we take a huge crap on them too.
Large scale combat is not pointless, not in the slightest. It's highly challenging, requires excellent coordination, strong leadership, and people who want to win and win big.

Wow is all I have to say. When AD's gankblade emperor did this exact same thing to DC just two days ago, somehow it didn't warrant a four page thread. I was there, I was on that wall and we held back at least 50 AD potatoes with ultimates and siege - until she jumped up and killed all of us.
We lost that keep, respawned, and got over it.
It's only when they get a taste of their own nasty medicine that the whining begins. And then people wonder why we ALL hate on AD so much.

I'm in AD, and I would have been all over that thread like white on rice had it been posted. I don't give a damn about factions. I give a damn about cheaters and exploiters. Ban them all, regardless of fraction!
Yep Failgrush started calling it "grappling hooks"i don't see a difference between this and using CE at all, just because it's a broken mechanic doesn't mean it's ok to abuse it.

Failgrush always been shady.
The whole collection of chest puffing DC "toughguys" make being shady a playstyle choice.
Fact is that most of the DC faction is embarrassed by these guys.

You dont see a difference? You might see a difference when youre hit by 35 meteors in a row per person in 15 seconds.rfennell_ESO wrote: »Yep Failgrush started calling it "grappling hooks"i don't see a difference between this and using CE at all, just because it's a broken mechanic doesn't mean it's ok to abuse it.

Grappling hooks are currently a confirmed feature in Cyro.
Also, trying to brand FENGRUSH as anything but the proud leader of the covenant is delusional.
So where's the clarification?
So long as this ridiculous mechanic is around, all you nancy boys have 2 options:
1.) Dont stand at spots where you can be gap closed upon.
2.) Have the stones to kill or otherwise expel whomever you so graciously invite in to your keep.
And well, if people are colluding cross faction, you'll just have to git gud and work together as a faction to combat these gross violations of the Geneva convention.
I will tell you one thing though. If I were to ever gap close into a keep, it's cus the cowards we fight would rather sit up top, siege, and spam bow light attacks rather than come down and put up a fight. Make no mistake though. The only party at fault here is Zenimax for allowing such behavior to even be possible. You can't expect people to police themselves when it comes to mechanics so easy to exploit that it can be done accidentally even.
Then again, I appreciate that maybe people in this thread have different perspectives. Personally, I've never wiped to rapscallions jumping into keeps, so excuse me for regarding it as simply harmless trolling.
It is a backwater game played by backwater players. Trashy players accumulate in games like ESO because of its lax enforcement and poor response time to address issues.
As bad as issues like server performance may be in ESO, the Cletus Spuckler "git gud" lolbots are as big an issue. This is how certain populist cults of personality gain traction here.
I'm no one in PvP but I have been playing in and out since game's first year. But if I may, I'd want to add my opinion on jumping to keep walls.
Never done it myself (I play as a healer normally) but I think is fun (talking as defender here) because it keeps you on your toes and makes defending keeps more dynamic.
What ZOS should have done, is to add a kill field (much like they did to scroll temples) INSIDE the keep that gets deactivated when the keep is like at 20% health, maybe? And that when active insta-kills any enemy that jumps to wall and tries to land inside the keep ground. Same-wise for the inners.
That way, people who jump to walls can be useful as spearhead against defender's positions, but can't take keeps by themselves if there are no defenders.
Also, change NPC positions so they stand away from the edges please, at least until they are aggroed, and give them knockbacks abilities too

I agree with you that the idea of jumping the wall is fun and it is even realistic, as @FENGRUSH mentioned, grappling hooks are a thing, even if not in the game at the moment. The problem is, while Zenimax maintains this stupid stance that using gap closers unintentional iterations is cheating, part of the community won't use it and they will be angry when some one does use it. They have to either solve the problem or allow people to use it... Or punish those using it.
But I mean, its like, I look at the ground and there are like 30-40 AD dead, and I think like, this is pretty sad
Then I look at my AP per hour and it shows 160K and then I feel better about myself
Its wrong ofc, and its our issue, but its also ZOS' for breaking something so important to the game's structure

What's sad is not the 30 dead AD.
It's not even that you and the emperor are abusing unintended mechanics to ruin the PvP of other players, most of them no doubt far less experienced than the two of you.
It's your unrepentant and selfish attitude, justifying trash play simply because of your AP gain and ZoS's inability to close a game-play loophole they have been 100% consistent saying is unintentional.

So where's the clarification?
I should have added to my original post, but I didn't because I thought it was obvious... but just in case:
On the subject of this thread, I totally agree with Yodased here. What happened in this case is a disgrace, and should be punished, with that I agree wholeheartedly.
Nevertheless, I still think that as a game mechanic, wall jumping could be made fair and safe, and IF that were to happen I would love for it to remain in-game.
