@Alcast did you test this set out? Weapon attack counts as light attack, skill (such as Heroic Slash) and bash?

Altho, dat mixed spell damage.weapon damage bonus makes me go "huh". I don't see many reasons to use this set over Viper for a stam build, and magicka would have to lose 2 beneficial bonuses...

I did not test it out just read it, we dont have any of those gears available on Template characters thus making it really really difficult to test >.>

We should really be able to test Velidreth's. The tooltip reads very, very problematic for PvP. But then again, maybe the spores can effectively be avoided. If they can't and it's (before battle spirit, mitigation etc) a 30k burst in meele combat, this is almost game-breaking.

However, without them being included in the templates, and the RNG we're used to, I see no way to actually test unless you're an NA player with many undaunted keys saved up for shoulders and really good drop-luck in the dungeon

From how I read it it is something similar to the Harvester's ability that shoots out 3 wave kind of things (think WGT boss 1)...
If it is then it is hard to avoid at close range, but quite easy from a bit away..

Anyways, really have to test it to be sure.

20% chance for Velindreth to proc? Little much there ZOS? I mean it's not like Stam user don't have "umpf" as it is. Skoria is 8%. Nereinth is 10% I believe. Why is this 20%? Don't get me wrong. My Stam characters will roll with it but from a balancing perspective it seems a bit much on the proc.

Also the damage is much more compared to magic sets.

    Found a thread with those.

Some sets are just meh, Amberplasm seems promising for PvP, Mazzatun might see some use, the Haj Mota 1pc, and very likely Velidreth's set (both 1p and 2p).

    Velidreth sounds extremely strong.

    9f8f6f193b.jpg

10k3 damage every 10 seconds isn't that strong (EDIT: see below post, as it depends on mechanics. If you get a guaranteed triple proc on bosses, it's insane), but it has to be considered that:
    • It only requires 2p
    • You have permanent uptime in PvE (flood of DoTs, must have like 80% chance to proc every second, if not more).
    • You have permanent uptime in PvP with AoEs
    • The 1p is weapon damage

You can now run some slightly different setups to get extra bonuses, like Kena / Velidreth for maximum weapon damage (instead of the usual Bloodspawn / Kena).

For magicka, I'm curious about Necropotence, sounds good.

    2228e00126.jpg

And finally, Akaviri Dragonguard, which will be a nice fit for a meta-argonian:

    1b483571a5.jpg

(still wondering why it has 15% ulti cost reduction, not that I'll complain about it).

Just to add to Velidreth's monster set (see above post), we need to see how it works exactly.

If all 3 mines work in PvE (I'm wondering, because sorc mines don't damage if they pop in quick succession), then it's basically 31k every 10 seconds. Viper is approx 8k every 4 seconds, so a 2p would be MUCH better than a 5p.

Sounds like the new BiS, pretty much a no-brainer if you can pop all 3 mines on a boss every 10 seconds.

Very disappointed by the monster sets...

Argonians are now set up as healers.... and given that there is only realistically one healing monster set (Bogdan)... and even that one is useless.... I was really hoping that Argonian dungeons were the perfect place to bring in a new healing role based monster set... ideally with a 1 piece magicka regen bonus as this is the only regen one now missing.

Keep in mind that it has a 10sec cooldown. So if you are not doing only one attack every 3 seconds, nerien'eth will proc more often than this set.

maybe. essence thief looked like bis until we saw how bad it actually functioned. I'm not convinced skoria or nerien'eth won't be better still. I wish they'd lower cooldown to 6 sec and effect the dmg by battlespirit. Imagine what tou can do in pvp using dw/jewelry VD and this set @_@

A number of the updated sets seem stuck in their soft-cap days where hybridised sets were useful - given the redundancy of several of the set bonuses (See post from @Alcast above for an example) it would be great if the balance team would take a pass over these sets and update them for the current state of the game.

    On the new sets:
    • Widowmaker - clarification of the ambiguity of the 5pc bonus would be great, either from devs or from someone who can get their hands of the full set - what is the radius of the proc? Does 'nearby' refer to the player or the 'victim' hit by the poison proc?
    • Gossamer - very interesting set. I'm not sure that I like the idea of there being more ways to obtain/provide major evasion, but I guess that this is somewhat balanced by proc chance. My concern is that this is just going to buff members of zergs who aren't already running shuffle.
    • Mephala's Hand - Meh. Not a big fan of introducing even more snares. The minor fracture debuff could be good for a group not running this uncommon debuff.
    • Heem-Jas - Great for PvE phases with multiple enemies, not so hot against bosses. At first looks good for PvP 1vX in offering big burst after a kill, but the duration could be a little too short. EDIT: Buff to zergs?
    • Amberplasm - Seems to be a good 'Jack of all trades' magicka set - buffs all of the important stats, plus a nice stamina recovery buff. Though the jack of all trades is usually master of none. May appeal to magicka DKs, but there are more useful things than stamina recovery when your main use of the resource is to block, where regen is cut off.
    • Mazzatun - Nice mixture of stat bonuses which some may find useful. 5pc just looks like another Phoenix style novelty perk.
    • Haj Mota - Could be useful in providing tanks a different method of buffing resistance and achieving the major buffs, but nothing special.
    • Velidreth - Really surprised at the 1pc WD buff - stamina wasn't exactly struggling for weapon damage, but hey, I'll take it. The 2pc looks strong, but will need testing.
    • Necropetence - Very nice set for anyone who just needs a straight up buff to max magicka - throw a few pieces into the setup for a bump to resource.
    • Archer's Mind - It'll need testing, but I doubt +5% crit modifier outperforms other sets in PvE DPS. Impenetrable + Transmutation hurts it even more in PvP.
    • Destruction Mastery - Hmph, there seems to be a lot of set combinations that provide similar bonuses, only better.
    • Healer - minor mending + Argonian + major mending?
    • Footman - Strong tank set, shame about the nerf.
    • Storm Knight - Negligible DPS isn't a real buff for a Tank who is focused on Tanking.
    • Ice Furnace - 4pc should be changed. Will need testing but I doubt the damage gain from the 5 piece outperforms other DPS sets; could be useful on trash pulls.
    • Necromancer - way too hybrid oriented.
    • Stygian - I'm being dense here - which spells don't pull you out of stealth?
    • Darkstride - Niche set
    • Warlock - 2/3/4 pc good for resource sustain, cooldown on 5pc will hurt
    • Salvation - interesting (small) buff for werewolf-centred builds
    • Nikulas -Another niche set - there are better 5pc bonuses than 25% reflect spell only
    • Syrabane - Really interesting set for S&B magicka setup, but becomes useless against stamina opponents
    • Red Mountain - Change the 3pc, change the 5pc to physical/disease. Then we'll talk.
    • Sun - Needs some calculations doing, for a build using fire damage exclusively, this could be a nice PvP setup. PvE probably has better options (TBS?)
    • Dragon - I expect that this cost reduction is now multiplicative, plus the fact that it's heavy armour and a hybrid set could reduce its usefulness. I'm sure someone will have ideas for this, though.

Last time there was a good Undaunted set for stamina builds (Kena), QQ got it nerfed to ground before anyone even tested it in practice, and now no one uses more than one piece of that set.

or put in a vendor that sells them in all traits (as "packages" for each trait, one vendor for each set, to adhere to the vendor inventory limit issue) for 1g a piece.

Some of the 6 new sets are very good for PvP (actually more use in PvP than in PvE) and yet they are all BoP?! So again pay 1500 crown a full PvE DLC and then have to farm PvE content for gear only interesting in PvP. Makes total sense right? So 2 solutions, either the new vendors in Cyrodiil's towns sell those 6 sets for AP, either you make them all BoE, either both. At this moment it highly sounds P2W and Grind2Win for PvP players.

I really enjoyed this set personally looking forward to getting re-acquainted. I always found the burst better than some other regen sets. 8170 every 60 seconds is still 136/second ~ 272 regen (is that how its added up?), add the other regen its probably highest regen set going?

you also mention silks of the sun, compared on paper group play and trials play (warhorn) favor existing sets julianos/TBS, possibly for solo play it might be more on a par. Think it needs a slight buff to make it viable alternative personally and even then only really for a magicka DK.
