Pi out of 5 in other words 3.14159265~ out of 5. It used too be a 4 out of 5 but now that they are saying that the crown store needs to have items removed to make room for new items making all those items limited.

LOL was that an official answer by ZO$ for real ???? Amateur-ish korean MMOs have dozen and dozen of cash shop pages... But ZO$ needs to remove Things because it takes room ?

It's the most ridiculous thing I've heard.... Why not be honest and say putting a Limited Time next to something makes weak minded people buy stuff?

I don't think they -need- to take items out, but making things limited time does two things: A ) it makes people who like an item actually buy it now and B ) it keeps some items unique, so those of us who have been here from the beginning have some visual queue or uniqueness.

Unfortunately the game lately feels like, to me, that it's in decline. So I'd have to give it a 2/5 for now, but in all honesty if they ever get lag in Cyrodiil under control, and get some bugs fixed and some balancing issues that can rise for me fairly quickly.

im not a veteran player of this game, but im after being fed up with the thief's guild im cautiously optimistic about the new DLC
the problem I see is the same awful awful AWFUL guard system completely ruining my experiences considering a lot of it will revolve around the terrible justice system

but we'll see, maybe itll be improved, maybe not.

Base game: 3.75 stars out of 5
Imperial City DLC: 3.25 stars out of 5
Orsinium: 4.5 stars out of 5
Thieves Guild: 2.75 stars out of 5

Solo content is easy but fun, the game world is immersive and very well designed, and there's a lot to do; endgame reward systems need improvement (gear and Champion System); the following parts of the game are underdeveloped as of today: social features (including group finder, guild systems, and player trading), UI (still no combat log or buff info in the basic client), Cyrodiil capture, travel and respawn mechanics, Cyrodiil server performance, client performance in large combats (trials or PvP).
Changes to group finder and optional nameplates + many changes to the base game in DB are definitely a step in the right direction, in my opinion.

Quets / Lore / Graphics/ world design/ environment - 10 (I cant fault whats there and the fine details)
Design potential fulfilled - 5 (There could be so much more but whats there is more than adequate for the money)
Gameplay - 6 (Doesnt cater to all age groups and abilities but is more fluid than many games. Hopelessly imbalanced/biased playstyles although steps in the right direction is noted)
Enjoyment - 5 (PvP may or may not be playable. Lag. Ever expanding list of bugs. Stacked RNG leading to limitless impossibilities. Exploit after exploit ruining the game for the vast majority of the playerbase. Required grinding on everythig just for the sake of grinding which is then punished).

If I was generous I would give it a 4.
    More realistic is a 3/5.

    If:
We moved away from the instant death without response mindframe of PvP and PvE.
    Made skills instantly responsive..always!
Used varying degrees of immunity rather than 100% immunity
Moved away from stacking one attribute making someone a god in all playstyles rather than one.
Made the game depend on reacting to rather than bypassing/disabling any reaction.
If the emphasis was placed on working together rather than one person wiping everyone out with godmode.
Actually did cater to all playstyles instead of 1.
Changed the combat interface to be much more appropriate to a much wider plysical ability range (ie inclusive).
...PvP and PvE would be perfect for me.
So lots of work to do there and heavily marked down.
Still way better than many offering though.

Fundamentally, whats on the suface is excellent.
But the core is broken in many ways.
Too many systems are annoying and frustrating for no reason other than being deliberately annoying and frustrating.
From my view anyway, which is totally biased of course.

Elder Scrolls Online has many rivals. World Of Warcraft, Lord Of The Rings Online, Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic, Star Trek Online, EVE, just to name a few. But in my opinion ESO is definitely one of the best MMO games. And here is my reasoning.

*The World. ESO has fantastic graphics and an amazing world. Its like walking into the most beautiful painting there is. Absolutely stunning.

*Combat System. In some games the combat system is just a big mess and complicated. I have never encountered any complications or anything strange or odd about ESO´s combat system. Its simple to use. And with the skills available for each class you can really mold your character into the attack system you want him/her to have.

*PvP In Cyrodiil. This is just extremely unique. I have not seen or heard of any other game where you literally place siege weapons and fire them yourself. Where you can capture keeps and claim Elder Scrolls. Of course almost all, if not all MMO games has PvP. But I dont know of another game where you can basically fight for keeps or just territory in general.
(Yes Cyrodiil can be vary laggy, Im well aware. But when it isnt its very fun to PvP there.)

*Mounts. That ESO has mounts is not something new. All MMO games have mounts. But mount leveling, thats unique. The mounts appearance is also very awesome. Take the elemental mounts for an example. The Nightmare Courser looks absolutely fantastic, and is still the mount I use the most. And the coming Dro-m'Athra Senche also looks absolutely stunning.

I can keep going for a while. But those are just 3 of my reasons why I think ESO is one of the best MMO games out there. And I haven't even mentioned the amazing lore and story yet. Which is, yeah just amazing. But all games have their bugs, glitches, lags and such. So I would give ESO 4.5 stars out of 5.

PvP IS laggy as [bad word comes here] my friend, but since they had to take drastic measures to save ESO from bad Press, they made a lot of progress and i can see this more.
With the Dark Brotherhood changes i start fearing that so many changes implemented now, could just simply destroy Cyrodill again and on PTS there is no way they can test it.

Mounts... Here i completely disagree and go with Rune_Relic and have to say those are mechanics that make the game unnescesary difficult and again timeintense... Mounts like CP should be accountwide not only by skills but also by training, because i am so done retraining my mount for every alt i want to level up. It is just not a fun mechanic.
-WoW has some level of mountprogression same as other MMO's have it

    Well Long story short.

    PvP is amazing without lags

PvE gets repetitive really fast and it looses challenge potential really fast

Animation Cancelling destroys Balance in both, PvE and PvP and has nothing to do with skill but exploit and this is my honest opinion on it.

Questing is amazing, with Cadwell's Silver and Gold they just screwed me over because i also like to do other stuff than leveling up a character for 12 days (/played on my first v16)

And this they are sadly not adressing, they still think that Cadwells SIlver and Gold were acceptable ideas, instead of just opening the world and make OPEN WORLD PVP POSSIBLE FOR THOSE WHO WANT IT... I still miss the possibility of attacking the AD Tree... i mean it would just be awesome to sometimes run in there gain some low AP but having fun with it...

2/5 right now, back at launch it was a 4/5 but with the way zenimax has handled things during these 2 years it's only gotten worse, just as many bugs as launch yet they managed to make gameplay boring with the constant nerfs to everything.

Beautiful graphics, yeah. But it's like a mute and dumb beautiful wife. And she's not even THAT beautiful, imho :p

Graphics : The settings of the world are beautiful. Characters, armors and animation are not. Well, that's my opinion anyway.

Storyline : Scenarii and questlines are average, TES lore is broken, the main quest is a pale reuse of Oblivion storyline, awesome voice actors but kind of a letdown since lots of the characters are so forgettable.
BUT we can definitely observe a big improvement on that side with DLCs : slowly with Imperial City, but Orsinium was well written with memorable characters (I love to hate Eveli), Thieve's Guild was really good for a MMO storyline and for once, I personally was really interested by all the characters and their motivations. Dark Brotherhood looks promising too (I've haven't finished it, but it seems it will be as good as TG)

Gameplay : well, is it awesome ? I'm not saying we could just look at the forums because forums are always a place for a lot negativity but seriously, can we honestly say the gameplay in ESO is rich and balanced. Seriously ?
I was always disappointed by the fact that with only 12 skills (which some are used as passives) it lacks synergies. And not "synergy" as in ESO, but as in some kind of combo/modifiers.
Some skills and animations have been bugged for months/years. Balance between class seems to be approached with a war tank when a chisel would be required...

Content : I'm going to be tagged once more as an elitist who doesn't know how to have fun. At this point I don't care anymore : when you have the outrage to say the HL content is not hard enough, you are classified as some monster who wants to enjoy a content with your 1% playerbase peers only. So be it.
But there's no PvE HL content in this game. When there is (vICP/vWGT used to be, Sanctum used to be, vMoL is still there but for how long ?) it is soon nerfed to the ground. Okay why not, so everyone can enjoy it. But give something else to players who want challenge...
I can't talked about PvP because I don't know Cyrodiil enough, but I'm pretty sure PvP is all about grinding AP and no one is interested in winning campaigns anymore.

Loot/RNG System : Once more, do you feel it's good ? Do you feel rewarded for your time in game ? :)

Stability/Client : We all know the issues in Cyro.
I'm on EP - EU/PC, and I guess it must be the same in other faction, but Deshaan/Mournhold is regularly Chrash Town.
64 bits clients was advertised as the messiah but was rushed and did not improved things that much. A bit though, and I understand they are still working on it to fix the bug sounds, which are driving people crazy. But we are still far from the smooth experience the 64 bit client was supposed to be.

So all in all, ESO is average. But if you play casually, one quest here, one dungeon there, a night in Cyrodiil and a day fishing, why, yeah ! There's a lot to do and to enjoy. But when you look a bit deeper, ESO is not that awesome.

Best MMO of 2015 ? Maybe. Says a lot about the competition though.
What? Lead? Me? No, no, no. No leading. Bad things happen when I lead. We get lost, people die, and the next thing you know I’m stranded somewhere without any pants.

    Base game
    • many beautiful locations.
    • plenty of content, enough to cover about 3-4 games.
    • quality of content is mediocre.
    • plenty of lore.
    • decent crafting locations for all.
    • 3 trials
    • Cyrodiil pvp, the only place you can enjoy sieging and warfare.

    IC DLC
    • gloomy scenery - I love it but others might hate it.
    • main-quest is made as group content, so unless you are able to solo very tough mobs and bosses, you might not get the luxury to actually read and enjoy the quests, and on top of that it takes place in a pvp area.
    • pvp element is only good for gankers, sieging and normal pvp is useless here.
    • good for pve grind and economy.
    • decent crafting location for tank set.
    • WGT and ICP dungeons are good for endgamers.

    Wrothgar DLC
    • beautiful nordic cold winter scenery.
    • world bosses are a b*tch if you don't go there at prime time.
    • best crafting locations for dps/healers.
    • Maelstrom Arena is good for weapon grind, drop rate is stupid low though.

    Thieves Guild DLC
    • beautiful Alik'r-Desert like scenery.
    • good for material farmers.
    • best crafting locations for pvp sets.
    • Maw of Lorkhaj is great, lives up to expectations of a good trial.

It's kinda hard for me to rate this on a scale from 1-5, depending on for what purpose and perspective I see this game, my rating would change.

After news was released that veteran ranks were in fact being removed , My entire guild from Beta and Pre Launch has started returning to the game . This was the biggest issue for them in the past . As they have returned , I've enjoyed hearing them say how much they like all the new zones and content that has been added and how much they really have missed this game . So my question to the community is , on a 5 Star rating system , how many stars would you give the game today ?

I'm giving it 4 Stars currently because it's the best MMO out in my opinion but still needs some bugs and fixes desperately . Still , 4 Stars is very high score !

So how many would you give and would you recommend friends to join or come back ?

2 and a half stars. At this point its barely a MMO its more MSO . they really have not tried to evolve and correct the Multiplayer part of the game. Group content is pretty bad its more like GW2 now then it was at launch. ZOS is in milk mode. ALl the DLC's are now focused on Single player content and resetting gear . No evolutiion of four man content or trials. its all stale and now they are watering it down.

As of today I would give ESO a 7 out of 10. I could care a less about class imbalance, skill/class changes that come with patches and so forth. I am mainly a PvE player and what bothers me is when my horse hesitates and the herek'y jerk'y ness of the whole thing. Also, lately like others the game has crashed a sent me back to my console home screen for no apparent reason. This seems to happen a least 2 time when I am playing. There a plenty of issues with ESO more than I care to list or even know of. It s huge game so problems and issues are bound to arise. Maybe in another 5 years they will have had the time to figure it all out....haha.

You assume greediness, but cannot prove it without assumptions.
Lack of communication is not a problem with the game but with how few people they have working and the demand of a dlc per 3 months.
Your assumption on costumes and armor is ill informed because they specifically said the result you see is not intended, but why would you read what they say? Then you can't say they lack communication.

Actually most of what I complained about is meanwhile either resolved or on a better track - my current verdict is 4 out of 5 - I made several adjustments to my first verdict in this thread and others. I am a happy subscriber currently with 221 days ESO+ left - so just leave me alone with your hate speech.

Btw, you have to leave it to me how I judge the game and what criteria are important for me - like all the pvp issues, are irrelevant for my gameplay, so these have no weight in my verdict - but things like lack of communication and malformed armor is something what concerns me and when I see no progress in that, I cannot say that I am happy with it - but it got better, ZOS put actually some effort in fixing armor. I commented on this in positive ways when I saw that there is progress - I judge fair, but after my criteria - not those of others.

I'm really glad if people are still having fun . I'm just having a hard time reorganizing my thoughts to just PvE and explore . I ride out most every storm this game has . I know things for me will get better in time .
