it's a decent set that might make you have to work for a kill. so naturally we have to nerf it.

The 'decent' set is bugged and makes all of your heals bypass battle spirit while it's proc'd. Are you really trying to play off a bugged set as the usual people whining for nerfs? Really?

From what i've tested all the set does is bring my DPS heals back to what they where in TG (procing off crit) i will give you that it can make certain classes/builds really hard to kill but also brings more options to classes that don't have as much healing as a templar.

    so whatever.

If it's not this set it will be another set, then another. People will always find a set to pick on until it gets nerfed into the ground! zzzzz

^This is kind of why I went into attack mode earlier in the thread. After Valkyn Skoria was nerfed to the ground, I felt like it is now an ongoing trend. Malubeth has counters to the proc, unlike the other monster sets. It's a trade off.

Believe me, I don't feel Malubeth should be nerfed into the ground. I just think it is really overpowered at the moment and needs to be toned down so that it doesn't put players not using it at such a disadvantage. I personally like the concept of Malubeths and would possibly use it if it were balanced. I don't want to feel like I have to use it to compete with other people using it.

You don't, I've killed dozens of players using it when I've been using other sets.

This. No nerf please, just let it be affected by battle spirit like it's supposed to be.

I reported about this issue and it seems ZOS are investigating this :)

It gets the damage reduction already. So thats per fectly fine. With Healing reduction the battle spirit would apply 2 times

It is? Okay, never mind my previous post then.

Just a quick note to let you all know that we did find a bug with this set that is being fixed in next week's incremental patch. Again, there is a bug -- this is not a nerf. Essentially, the heal from this item set's proc is incorrectly double-dipping in the Critical Strike Chance modifier and gaining double the benefit it should (and the patch note next week will say as much.)

why not keep malubeth the way it is and instead just bug out, or beef up, the other sets as well.

I use this monster set solely for Blood tanking (PVE) because with the awesome heals it provided I was able to be more creative then just joining the bandwagon spec of the month club. I am able to slot more dps skills and shuffle some wasted CP points into boosting my overall dps and slot Warhorn to increase my groups dps for Trial runs. But now I will have to completely overhaul my build and when i'm done I am sure once again hands down my DK tank will outshine my NB tank .. This set has been like this it since was RELEASED!!!!! and now that one person found a way to make it OP in PVP and the crowd looking for an edge joined in on the wagon ride, my PVE use for the set suffers yet again to a nasty nerf (Adjustment) to previously PVE used gear. Feel free to troll but every single Templar VMA or trails player knows all to well what PVP nerfs (Adjustments) effects do to a particular ability or class overall performance in PVE. This mentality of nerf said effect because its OP in PVP and now PVE suffers so it's to hard now ok NERF PVE content to compensate i.e .....vICP/vWGT Thx for reading my frustrated two cents.

Did you even read what Jessica posted? The set is BUGGED. No-one is asking for nerfs.
It was a reasonable request to fix a broken set.

Then you didn't read clearly. :/

First it was that the proc chance was bugged, then it was that it bypasses battle spirit, then it was the champion system, then it was templars are OP, then it was that it's just overpowered in general, and now we finally figure out that it was double dipping in the crit chance modifier. B)

Anyways, people thought malubeth was broken/op and it seems that it was. Maybe not exactly the way they thought but it still is broken.

I mean technically if it was getting inappropriately boosted by the crit multiplier which effectively doubles the effectiveness, it is kind of bypassing battle spirit.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom okay so I have to bite. Since this is a confirmed bug, is using this set considered exploiting?

I'm not arguing that it is. I'm just saying some mods characterize using bugs, such as gap closers, as exploiting. Would this not be the same thing? Just arguing for some consistency here :)

Stuff like this just makes me feel that I was right when I first saw pvp in this game and said all pvpers should be stripped of all armour weapons and abilities upon entering Cyrodil, get given a stick (identical to the stick all other pvpers get, wouldn't want an argument starting over his sticks longer than mine would we).

There would still be complaints of OP players but hopefully less.

I also sent this info to Jessica Folsom:

    Regarding malubeth scourger beam.
I realize you found a bug with the crit double dipping. But there's another major problem with the set:

It has a tooltip of about 6600 (split over 9 hits)
This basically means it deals 366 dmg per hit, but after resists its usually in the 200 range.
However the heal is not based on the dmg it does, but fully based on the tooltip value, ending up at around 733 healed per tick. But with the modifiers from +% healing and accounting for crits, it will end up healing for 1000-1500 or more per tick. With 9 ticks, the proc will usually heal for around 10-14k.
I think you made a mistake when fixing it in the Dark Brotherhood patch. You removed battle spirit affecting it, because you state it was double affected by battle spirit. However it is not, since the healing value is in no way related to the damage value.
THIS IS THE MAIN PROBLEM, NOT CRITS DOING TOO MUCH.

So basically, the upcoming fix will in no way fix the set, since the main problem is not related to crit values.

Is it also really intended to procc if you hit it with dots? This basicly means it will procc all the fricking time.
