ZoS, we get it, you enjoy doing stupid ***.

We, however, do not enjoy seeing such things.

So, how about we compromise? You remove borders, but keep that battle scaling *** as far away from the game as you can.

Even then, it still won't make any sense, as you will be constantly helping different alliances, but we can live with that.

1 year/many months ago there was so many players in ESO that there was no need in doing such "social features" like cross faction grouping for a pledge, however, as the population dropped,, it became quite hard to find a group to pledge, then with some magic, you get cross faction grouping.

    Ok sure.

Please however provide the pkay numbers that you are basing your assessment on.

If you don't want to help the other alliances, then don't. Who's forcing you to? These changes are giving us options. They by no means are making us play the game in any different way than we already have been if we don't want to.

    Sounding good to me.

I've already created the extra toons, and started levelling the first one with all 'Training' trait on gear and weapons. By the time I got to the start of the 2nd zone I was already 'over' levelled for the early quests and not getting XP.

I'm one of these players that likes to 'complete' the zones, doesn't take long nowadays lol

It will also be great with my friends that have just started the game, and the new guild will now be able to do more dungeons together, helping them out with a CP 160 toon, can be a little boring lol

I also think it makes it easier to then raise the CP cap, and keep zones challenging for all, as the zones can also have their 'level' raised.

Everything I have heard so far sounds great. I hate that zones have levels. Why should a skeever in Glenumbra be able to one shot me when one in Auridon can't. Progression is based on skills and gear.

The only people I can see this upsetting are those 501s that enjoy one shoting mobs in the starter zones so that they feel "powerful".
  • PokaPoka94
    I think it's awesome!

It will be so good to be able to team up with any player you want, and to be able to go to any zone to do any mission or even just to explore. One of the things I disliked was the barriers in place.

Does this mean a lower level max CP character up scaled to zone will be more powerful than a max level max cp character? :D

I hope this means Craglorn is getting updated and we will always get rewards scaled to our level now....sick of getting crappy lower level stuff for higher end content...

This looks like a nice change. Being overleveled in a zone kind of made me want to just skip stuff and get to the next area. With this, I'll have a reason to go back and complete some maps.

Hopefully, the set gear from each zone will be level appropriate. If they do this, I won't even mind re-farming gear as they raise CP caps. Plus, that would just help tremendously with build diversity.

I do hope they keep crafting nodes as they are currently.

Maybe after leaving the tutorial, you should only have access to a way-shrine on the two starter islands that aren't your faction. Might help new players to see the linear path and reduce confusion.

So entertaining... You have faction lock/silver&gold and from the very start the forums were awash with complaints. Now they do exactly what has been asked for by many since two years and still the complaints stack up.

    Make up yer mind already.

As to OP question, I don't really know. I was fine with the system currently in place (all veteran zones unlock once you reach 50, irrespective of main quest status) but I am also not overly concerned with the new system.

Levelling will be reduced to skill point acquisition and skill morph unlock, but it's not really more than that anyways. I am a bit concerned about faction identity/pride in Cyrodiil, but since that is down the drain anyways, it probably won't even get worse.

I am very excited, but I have a couple questions.

    1. Will an EP player and a DC player be able to group up and go quest in AD zones? Like is it completely open in such a way that faction doesn't matter at all except in PVP?

    2. If I am not in a group, and am a DC character and go to Davon's Watch, will I be able to see EP players, talk and interact with them? Basically I am thinking from an RP perspective, can I (as a DC) now RP with AD/EP people?

    3. Will scaling work in such a way that if my level 50, 300CP character quests with a level 4 newbie will my max level character still earn XP towards champion points? If I do quests I've never done before in low level zones (even my own faction ones) will the quest rewards scale to my CP?

I believe the answer to all of those is "Yes", except PvP. Everything PvP will stay exactly the same - alliance vs alliance.

From what I've gathered, it sounds like this will simply be breaking down the boundaries of PvE content so that anyone and everyone can group up anywhere in Tamriel and do any quest, any dungeon, and any trial and each earn appropriate EXP, and loot for their specific levels.

That is what they're hoping for anyway.. I am welcoming the idea, but I'm questioning how they will make it work in a way that doesn't make the game seem so... all over the place..

Will they make the zones a level base that everyone scales to when inside, or do they go to a TES single player method where the mobs scale to your level? That is the question that we should be worried about most I would think

The 501 CPs will be able to 1 shot everything in every zone with this change... Its like Skyrim you can be level 1 and kill every mob in the game at any location because its scaled to you.

I am so glad to see the community not melting down, throwing a tantrum about something they haven't tried yet and resorting to- *stands back against the wall* oh wait here they come...

    Jokes aside though

You tearful few feeling panicked you won't be able to gank hard in PVP or drive through content without batting an eyelid? Have no fear, that is what your CP is for. Enemies and content will be scaled to your level, it is your CP that sorts you out from the rest.

I'm really disappointed this is their only announcement.

The feature itself is fine and welcome. But it won't change my gameplay at all as someone who's played a while. Being at max level naturally makes half the announcement irrelevant, but also cross faction has rarely been an issue for me - what few alts or such people have can already do dungeons with us. Then there's pvp which I assume will still be based on factions, no new thing there.

Though I think it's a good quality of life change for many people and they'll benefit.

    That being said,
Why didn't we get any sort of content announcement? All my quests are done, what am I supposed to do with this scaling feature? What about something for existing players to look forward to and be excited about? There's already not enough to do regularly, maybe address that? Also, if we're talking scaling, how about scaling my CP scaling for pvp? The no-cp campaign is always very low population. That's something that could actually help the other demographic.

Edit: I am as well happy to finally hear a number, which should end the rumors about decreasing populations, while in fact they are increasing, just like it felt in all of the months where I am in ESO. Looks like we will finally get our TES fan version of Tamriel. Mr. Firor said, this is upcoming for fall - now guess, what I think, will be our christmas gift this year - Vvardenfell - it has to be Vvardenfell. Zenimax is on the revival trip, see the many announcements, which resurrect legacy games and give them some new shine - what would be better in this matter than to have Vvardenfell be treated in the same way in ESO - it would go pretty well with what Bethesda is aiming at currently.
@Lysette That's not true at all.It just the copies sold not that many people still playing the game. Its how single player games announce game sales. We sold 5 million copies but only 1 million players are playing the game past the first week. The population is decreasing man accept it.If they said 7 million concurrent players daily across all three platforms that would have been impressive you would have been right buts that's not the case. Its boxes sold and in a MMO IMO that means nothing if not even half of those players stay.

Well, to me it appears as if the game is increasing in active character numbers, I cannot say if those are different players, could as well be a lot of alts due to more character slots currently. But it is quite crowded at prime time, more than when I first came to ESO during that free weekend last year - I am one of those who stayed and became an actual costumer.

I'm very skeptical of this plan. They need to go into deep detail soon on how this will work. As it stands it seems like character levels will be relatively meaningless as you and the world will just scale to each other. If I can start up an Ebonheart Pact character and go from the starting zone straight to Riften and slay monsters that's just downright stupid.

If it will work like in DLCs, it will be just fine for me - none of the normal content will be too easy for me and as well not too hard. My low level characters are a lot more viable in DLC areas and I have to fight longer than in normal zones - not just one- or two-shot everything in sight. I am really looking forward to this.

My thoughts: this was one of the most requested, no, DEMANDED, features before and after launch. ZOS spent 2 years working on it to get it to where its paying customers wanted it.

Now the first few pages are littered with comments about how stupid ZOS is.

    I £#€%ing hate the Internet.
