There is nothing wrong with the price. Is it high? Yes, it is but so are most vanity items both in game and in life. A Corvette is over priced but you can choose to buy one if it appeals to you enough.

Corvettes are rip offs, they are cars with sub standard mechanics that fail more frequently than many other less costly brands, just like Harley Davidson motorcycles, buy a moped, cheaper on gas/fuel economy, more reliable, and easier to repair, and all for a fraction of the price. Motor vehicles of all types are over priced in general, just the need to have one, due to lack of public transportation options in most smaller US cities is what is driving the sales. Why do you think auto manufacturers lobby so hard to keep public transportation out of the US? Just like oil companies, it hurts their bottom line, so if it can't become part of the system they will always profit. Less vehicles on the road, less gas sold, less accidents hurts insurance companies, yeah, the system in general is rigged and broken. Doesn't mean it is a good excuse for this.....

But then fools and their money.......

I agree but it is just an item for appearance sake and not an improvement or benefit. Cost is high and has no purpose but to show you have that money to spend. Mr T used to do it with gold chains.

Because we don't want to ride with smelly people and hippies ?

    Life is about enjoying it.

I (and others ) have the disposable income to enjoy it , and choose to.

My wife and kids love going on the off road trails in one of our cars , a nice Wrangler with close to the Rubicon package and add-on 34 tires.

Keep your moped and Prius and riding the bus for you. Not for us.

Yes, sadly enjoying life is a luxury only people with money have, as those who work 2-3 jobs trying to keep up with inflation can't do it, but those who are in upper management, or are business owners don't understand, because they keep giving themselves raises, and raising the cost of product to cover it making it more difficult for the masses to afford the ability to enjoy life. In my mind it is just a hair on the legal side of slavery, you can count on people to not take their vacation because the can't afford it, saving you money, can count on them working because they need the money just to live, where as you just rake in money because everyone else is doing the work for you. Not meaning directly you, just businesses in general, and the attitudes of the people who run them. Many items are priced to high, and people pay it simply because to not do so would leave them on the street or starving. Go enjoy life, because the people who are working hard, can't. I'm middle management, and can't enjoy life, I'm to busy just trying to get by with my meager income.

@GreenhaloX I don't see this as a debate. Rather it's a way for people to state their opinion on the new mount price. We've already learned that 4,000 crowns is subjectively a lot or a little for different people. We've learned that for many the "relative" value is too much or too little. (say relative to other mounts, a dlc, or another game) The majority have said it's too much. A few have said "it's too much" but still bought it, and some have said they'd even pay more. This is important information for ZOS in their future pricing decision-making. Unfortunately, we don't know their motive for the outrageous price point. Some say it's research. Others say price gouging. Maybe they're not making as much money as they need, so they are raising prices.

One thing is for sure, we all love ESO and want it to continue to be the game that we fell in love with. We want to play with cute mounts, but for some of us, it just cost too much. We'll save our crowns doe something else. But it sucks, because the mount is so pretty.

Finally, I suspect the fact that this thread has gone for as long as it has is symptomatic of something else. Customers that are being frequently let down. They're left with false hopes of improvements to come with no ETA (ie Barber Shop, race change, lag fixes in cyro). We're in the dark about the future, and we just want to know that this game is going to be alive, prosperous and as enjoyable as it has been to this point.

How much of your college was paid for by the government? your family? My continuing education is funded by.......ME. I have paid from my pocket for every class, book, and time in school by myself. I've seen a bartenders wages, that won't pay for college, loans maybe? Sure, but you need a decent credit score for that, I've failed to secure a loan due to my financial situation, so I am left to assume that you got help from either the government or family to cover your schooling. If I am wrong I am sorry, but if you did get help from anywhere other than yourself, it was given to you, not earned. I'm still working on mine, and have paid for it all, with no outside help. What you did with your gift is commendable, and I am more than wiling to say you did good, but the fact that you have no concept of what goes on beneath your positions pay grade is a bit troublesome in my mind. No one, not even the president, is worth $75/hour. If I made that, I could retire in 7 years. But then I wouldn't be blowing it on junk.

My brother does computer work, and didn't need college degrees to get his job, he works with programming, and wiring of automated homes and such, stuff I really don't understand as I only use computers for what I need, and don't like the idea of coding and such. He makes a great living, not sure if it is as much as you, but didn't need a college degree to do it, and he has companies trying to poach him for what they need. Sys Engineer, is programming, and running lines for automation right? Cisco training? I'm not particularly tech savvy.

It's silly to argue over this. It is expensive but it is not a quality of life improvement. It is just a vanity item and does not warrant such debate. I don't pay for vanity items I like every day in real life and I manage to still enjoy life without them.

You have zero clue , and sound like the whiny type who wants to blame everyone but themselves.

Whatever financial situation you are in , is because of decisions YOU made , no one else.

I grew up with jack , my parents had kids at too early of an age , and barely could make rent. Anything I had as a kid was due to granddad (a paramedic) helping a little when he could.

I worked and busted ass working TWO jobs since I was 18 , (started work on my 16th bday for one job) , and took out over 35k in unsubsidized loans for school. Your credit score means jack for that also. My degree is in History because originally was going to law school , but got into the IT side and have been for 20+ years now. I finished my degree because I wanted to. And I , I paid back my entire student loan by wait for it , working two jobs.

So to hell with you and saying I'm not worth 75/hour , you sound like a jealous little twit. I wouldn't hire you nor pay you much either with that attitude.

One bit of advice , people jealous of others wealth and success , never succeed.

(oh and lastly, you probably wouldn't make bank like I did as a bartender , no one would like you, it takes personality , having fun and a good time to make good money , averaged 300 night , so again , you know nothing Jon Snow)

I bought the mount (time to throw stones at me)

But think about it, if you are not an ESO plus member or if you are. How much have you already bought from the Crown Store? If nothing, then so be it that is your choice.

But XP scrolls, bag upgrades, mount training, costumes, pets. I know everyone has bought something and I am sure its added to to probably over 4K. I bought it because I liked it. I had 6K crowns, so why not.

This thread got out of hand. So there are my 2 cents.

Personally I find it grotesquely overpriced.

But I think the price is most shocking because it is almost double the price of previous limited edition items. We're used to limited mounts costing around 2500 Crowns, so of course a mount costing 4000 Crowns will be a shock.

But then comes the question of "what do I actual get for my Crowns?"... Well, all you get is a mount with a fancy animation. Compared to the fact that you can get a whole DLC plus extras for less than the price of this new mount is the true shocker in my opinion! (DLCs go for 2000-3000 Crowns, two of which give a free pet as well...)

As an ESO+ member, I had been saving up my Crowns for this mount, but was expecting it to cost much less. I have the Crowns for it, but now I have to have a long hard debate with myself whether or not this mount is really worth it.

It is truly a shame they decided to overprice this item, as I could imagine they would sell way waaay more at a lower price, which would equal a much higher revenue. (Example: 100 people buy it for 4000 Crowns = 400.000 Crowns spent. 1000 people buy it for 2500 Crowns = 2.500.000 Crowns.... simple math and a better sales strategy really...)

You will see from other comments that MANY people are buying it at 4K Crowns, so clearly your estimation of pricing strategy is wrong. The same could be said for 'assistants' that people claimed nobody would buy, I did, and so did many others and I use them all the time. Also keep in mind that many people bought Crowns during the half-price sale, so for them, the mount really only cost 2K Crowns. So perhaps next time they have a Crown sale, more people will buy them so that way when 'expensive' items are listed, they can effectively get them for half price.

Ah yes, the Crown sale had completely slipped my mind  That would explain quite a bit. And yes, it will give people an extra incentive to buy Crowns when they are on sale - cuz you never know when something pricey might be added to the store.

But in all fairness, I still find it quite warped that it costs more than even the largest DLC atm - and it's only one item. I could buy it if I really wanted it, but personally I don't see a big enough value for money compared to so much else.

They price the mount at 4k lots of people moan because they can't afford it or feel it's not worth it.

They price the mount at 2.5k and lots of people moan because the effects are better than the 2.5k mount they bought previously.

They don't make any more mounts and people moan because there isn't enough in the game.

So they stop selling mounts and make them awards lots of people are happy until a few months later Zos announce they are closing the game due to financial problems.

People would moan in a thread but alas they got their own way and now there is no game forum to create a thread on.

It is also about 6 paperback novels, 2-3 hard back novels, 9 digital novels, an average camera, 6 thumb drives, a low mileage replacement tire for your car, a couple oil changes, renting 12 movies, going to the theatre 3 times for a couple twice if you don't sneak in snacks, 2 new pairs of pants, a dress, 4 bras, 3 T-shirts, 4 packs of socks, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 nice pair of shoes, between half and an eighth of a pair of designer shoes depending on style size and brand, a Large toy for your children, several small toys for your children, most of a playset for your children......

I do also, between two jobs , one as sys engineer , other couple nights as week as a Cisco trainer.

75/hour for the second job alone.

I worked two bartending jobs for much of my 20's to then study , get my degree , work as free intern in an IT firm while going to school and working also at night.

In other words I busted ass much of my life , and now am reaping the rewards. And so are my kids and wife.

And guilt I feel for having disposable income for Disney trips , fully funded College funds for the 5 and 7 year old , eating out daily where we want , and not having to worry about money as I did as a poor kid and 20 something worrying about rent ?

    None.

    I earned it.

Note how I never called you a name. Some people are self gratifying *** as well. Doesn't mean they are worth $75/hour. Some people get opportunities that others don't, and you don't know jack all as my finances were the EXACT reason I was denied a loan for schooling. I've been working my entire life, and run into many snooty people who think they are better than others, some people are able to get money just because they look good, and not due to skill. I am a horrible bartender for one reason and one reason only, alcohol tastes disgusting to me, and I can't mix a good drink. I have a lot of friends, I have people come and talk to me often just for the pleasure of my company. I hate that people are so self entitled as to think they should be able to make $75 an hour they are just as much a person as another, and will have things they are incapable of doing to. just because someone decided that working on computers is worth $75 an hour, but working as a middle manager at a nursing home is worth $16 an hour. I work harder than you do, I take care of the people that people like you put in a home just so they don't have to deal with them. I don't sit at a desk all day, I am talking to my residents, and making them feel like people, rather than unwanted trash. What I m doing now is worth far more than what you are doing, yet you are making more. I am sure I have skills that you do not. I bet that tasty meal you like wouldn't be worth the cost if the people preparing it actually got paid for their skills like you do for yours. Not everyone can cook, and of those that can, most can't do a very good job. How's your chemistry? Bet those people making medicines would love a $75 an hour job. My cousin does this and doesn't make that much an hour. What about police officers, their lives are worth far more than $75 an hour, and they very seldom, if ever, make that?

I wouldn't hire you for your self gratifying attitude either. I've tried hiring people with attitudes like yours, they make everyone else quit because they talk down to them and make them feel small so that that person can be the Bigger Better person. Take a look at your attitude as well. Look at that little bolded point, your the one who failed reading comprehension and went off on me for an incorrect assumption. I did already say that if I was wrong I am sorry. You didn't need to call me a twit over your hurt feelings, you could have simply said, I did pay for my own schooling through loans. You also could lose the attitude over your belief that your job is so important that it is worth $75 an hour when their are other job that get paid less, that are VASTLY more important.

I might be a bit unhappy with how wages are determined, and hate how the talkers like Trump seem to make a ton of money for talking around in circles, but at least I don't think I am the best thing on this planet and worth far more than everyone else, just because. I do a job that you would probably quit in 10 minutes of doing, not everyone can do what I do, not everyone can do what you do, not everyone can do what a police officer can do, so why are you so important that YOU deserve 5 times the wages? I don't care that you make more, what bothers me is the belief that you are so much superior that you DESERVE more.

Those players who paid 4000 crowns for this mount just fed ZOS's greed and opened pandoria's box. ZOS knows now that they can get away with establishing high prices for crown store items because players will pay them. Stay tuned for more of the same high prices for items in the future.

Yes, that Pandoria has quite a box. Hold on, let me turn down the volume. I'm blasting Pandoria right now on the internets.

That's what I did. It was on the PTS a couple months ago so I knew it was coming, when crowns went on sale I bought some so I could get this mount.

1st I used XBox1 gift cards from Kroger when I make any in game purchases. I buy the gift cards when they run a 4X fuel point bonus.. meaning, every $100 gift card = .40 cents off a gallon of gas. You can spend 100points = $1 off gas per gallon up to 35 gallons.

Not only did I get the gift cards during 4X Fuel points (btw they are always 2X Fuel points) but I used a credit card that has rewards that I can use towards Amazon etc. Key is to pay the balance every month and not pay any interest.

I bought a bunch of crowns when they were 50% off then used some of those crowns to buy XP scrolls when they went 50%.. I didnt want to risk waiting for the Senche to go on sale if it ever does.

I have always been very good with my money so that I can buy what I want when I want.

How many kids do we have on this forum anyway?

It's simple economics. ZOS made a product. ZOS did a cost/demand analysis and came up with a price point they think they can turn a profit on. They aren't holding a gun to anyone's head. You don't have to buy what they're offering. If it turns out that their analysis was incorrect and not enough people aren't buying it, then like any business they'll lower the price until it sells.

Complaining about crown store price is like whining about the price of a Aventador . No, you don't have the disposable income to buy one. No, you're not entitled to one. No, nobody owes you one. Just because you want something doesn't mean you deserve it or are going to get it. Not everyone has 4K crowns (or hundreds of thousands of dollars in the case of a Aventador) to buy the shiny new status symbol.

You don't like the price? You don't think it's fair? Tough. That's life. Don't buy it. And if your sense of entitlement simply can't handle that then stop paying and stop playing. This game is entirely optional entertainment. It's up to the individual whether or not they want to spend their disposable income on new shinnies for the game.

Sadly I believe most of the people upset are the same who are used to getting participation trophy's. I mean it's not fair that others worked harder to win a game why should they get a trophy and we dont.

So much jealousy. I bet the guy who gets 75$ an hour gets that because he is well worth it and to the person paying him that much finds it profitable.
