For those saying 4k is ok for a visual does that then make it ok 5/6k for a dlc? It's almost like forcing subs back at that point because it would be a down sight cheaper than purchase. DLCs are already p2w so at what point does the game become too expensive and split players into those that can and can't afford to keep up with the rest.

High price tag, short window to purchase...

Rather than a "cash grab" I'm wondering if there isn't some thought to the lore regarding this mount and ZOS actually not -wanting- everyone and their dog to have one.

If a dev could confirm this, I'd actually, maybe, have a little respect for this somewhat overpriced vanity item.

I was looking forward to this mount. really really was. Was willing to pay up to 3k since it has new anims. Still hoped for 2.5 honestly.

I do not currently have 3k on my account so i would have had to purchase crowns, was all prepared to do so. but then you pull the 4k bit.

Note: To all those that say they have the crowns but will not buy,, Zeni already has your money.. you gave it to them when you bought the crowns. Not buying the mount does not affect them.. Not buying crown though might.

Can you honestly say you are HAPPY spending $40/£20 on a visual on a game? Something that will entertain you for maybe a few days until the buzz wears off and it's just another mount. YES. It really is worth it to me, ha.

I rarely leave cyrodiil so the banker and merchant are more than useless to my time in game seeing as they do not work in PVP.

Cyrodiil always has the highest populations of shiny mounts because of the amount of horse sim needed to play there. I'm fine with that, it supports the game just like all the people who payed 5-10k crowns for saving 2 mins of their time every hour or so.

Swings and roundabouts my friend, swiiings and roundabouts.

Well, we can't exactly "unbuy" what we've already purchased. Saying I'm not purchasing the mount on principle does at least add to the voices saying that this is unreasonable. Saying that I'm willing to purchase DLC bundles at that price also allows for the potential for future Crown purchases rather than just saying "I'm not ever buying anything from you again because this is wrong," because at that point they've already lost me and have no need to attempt to sell to me anymore.

I agree with you that not buying the Crowns in the first place would be the ideal way of showing distaste for the item, but when the purchase has already been made we can still take a stand against an unreasonably priced item by not using those Crowns to purchase that item. I'm not against the Crown Store itself. I'm against this ridiculous price for a mount.

ZOS can see which Crown Store items are selling, how quickly and how many.
If this particular item underperforms, they'll know and perhaps adjust their strategy for the next one.

Yeah, they already have your money, but they want you to spend the crowns just as much. That way you have to buy more crowns to buy the next thing.

The only thing sinister about this bag of gaudy particle effects is its price. First the stupidly overpriced, yet functionally gimped, banker and merchant... now this. I assume Zenimax's marketing department is just rolling around in cash, if they honestly believe this is worth $40.

Lazy reskin of existing mount, using premade model and animations? Check!
Awful glowing effects that don't fit anywhere in ESO's previous design? Check!
Limited time offer and exorbitant price tag? Check!

I have the crowns to buy this, but dear god, I'm not spending any of them until ZOS actually puts up something worth the cost. I draw the line at paying 2,500 crowns for a mount. I nearly choked when I saw this wasn't just a troll post on Reddit.

I think so too . Probably even wait for black fur version . Not that I don't want ZOS to make money , I just can't justify my personal finances to make them that much money for this mount . I'm also not belittling those that can support the game with this mounts price tag . Good for them . It's probably targeted to reach that consumer market anyways .

Nah, its a marketing tactic. Hype a product for weeks without revealing the cost then drop the product with an absurdly high price tag and a short window of time to buy it. Gets both impulse buyers and people who are afraid theyll regret not buying the mount once its gone from the shop.
