I'm glad the new mount is 4000 crowns....

....so that less ppl have it. :)

Besides, I have no problem spending to support the games I love. Surely I can't be the only one who feels like this?

Bloody disgusting play on your part zos, just proves once again you are money grabbers.

Where in particular did you get your business degree? Oops my bad you don't have one and I doubt you understand what it takes to run one.

Oh sorry where is yours? They are putting it up that high because they know people will pay it. There you have money grabbers.

Overpriced a tad maybe? But at least it's vanity. ZoS is nowhere near as bad as EA. Swtor locks tons of stuff to F2P players, gives too weak bonuses to DLC purchasers, and gives subscribers every bonus from here to Pluto. The only mmos that I think are close to as fair as ESO is GW2 and Tera.

Look, ill agree that this is not as bad as some of the Things EA does, however a 40$ mount.....This is bad, and something i could see EA doing in a heartbeat, so while its not as bad as the worst of EA, its definatly something they would do, as such, i stand by my comparison. It may not be P2W, but that doesnt really comfort me at all

Where do people keep getting $40 for the mount? Even buying full price 5500 crowns for $40, the mount is $29. If you bought the crowns on discount, it is considerably less.

Many people didnt get the crowns on discount,MANY people, and the mount is $30.00.
    $29.09

    $30.00.

$40 for 5500 crowns is $.0072373 per crown. That is $29.09 for 4000 crowns.

ha $0.91 cents doesn't make or break someone with this purchase and something over $25 is an absurd asking price for anything that's not DLC...good for you if you want to buy into that, they're betting their prices on your purchase. ;)

Even if you're a millionaire, don't you feel slightly suckered buying a flaming panther reskin for $30?

Just to add unless I can galop with my own legs with a person close behind banging coconuts together your not making me pay 4000 crowns for a mount.

Also feel free to qoute that for your signature or something.

If you buy it, then you obviously don't feel suckered. You feel that it is worth the value of the currency you spent to acquire it. Of course if you have buyer's remorse after the fact that's an entirely different psychological phenomenon.

It's all relative. If it were $1, most would be fine with that but others would ask if you felt suckered. BTW, a million $ really isn't that much. It's not like you will live off of that for 40 years unless you are really frugal.

That is the ONLY good thing about the price @GoodFella146 it keeps it rare I game.

This is why I joking-but-not-joking suggested:
    Gidorick wrote: »

    HA HA! funny, right?

But, I'm COMPLETELY Serious. Here's why:
    • Unicorns exist on Nirn
    • They are VERY rare
    • The high price of this item will keep it rare, if existent at ALL
    • The question of "Has anyone ever seen one" is TOTALLY appropriate for the unicorn
    • It would be a relatively quick mount to make
    • If anyone ever bought it, ZOS would make the easiest $1K they ever made.

I just like the meta-game idea of people questioning their existence and maybe THINKING they saw one but wasn't sure. I think 100,000 Crowns is high enough that there probably isn't anyone that would be willing to shell out the money for it, but low enough that someone with a bunch of burnable cash might buy it for kicks and grins.

    Thoughts?

Keeping items like these rare in the game is important... and the price does achieve that.

So I'm of two minds... My knee-jerk reaction is that it's too much. I don't think mounts should be this expensive. I think it's ridiculous to ask the customer base to pay this much for a mount.... BUT... it will keep it rare in game so that not everyone and their brother is riding around on flashy fun mounts.

    Internal conflict is fun!
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

That's a pretty pile of crowns to spend for a mount but I'm sure they will sell like hot cakes. Sounds like a lot but if you got a whack of crowns burning a hole in your treasure chest go for it.

And I sure don't see this as greed. This is a non required for gameplay item and is all about fun. Greed would be putting the squeeze on you to buy an item that otherwise would negatively impact your ability to play.

That mount costs more than DLC.

Likely because zos put more effort into it than it's DLC.

And I sure don't see this as greed. This is a non required for gameplay item and is all about fun. Greed would be putting the squeeze on you to buy an item that otherwise would negatively impact your ability to play.

I'm not affected by this as I've made up my mind not to buy but I love a good debate/discussion ha soooo-

"Greed: a selfish and excessive desire for more of something (as money) than is needed"

I'd say this is greedy. :p

All businesses are greedy by that measure, then. How much is "needed" by the company for profit is a subjective perspective with no correct answer.
