4,000 Crowns for new Senche Mount Too Much?

I am surprised. I was expecting 3000 Crowns.

I imagine the extra summoning animation added 1000 Crowns to the total price. I can't say it is unreasonable, but it is a little disappointing. I am not into flashy mounts, it is not my characters' style, but they might eventually add a mount I want for that price too if it is because of the summoning animation.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

How is the cost for this mount to much? The only means to define the cost as being to high is the long does not sell well. This has nothing to do with it being beyond what a specific individual would choose to pay.

It's just ridiculous, thats why.Knowing how much people would like something and setting the price that high is called "price gouging".

Budgeted 6k. Reality was lower than expectations.

What if ZoS bases their mount prices off of how much they affect the games performance/create lag?

So mounts with particle effect trails/new animations are sold for more so that:
less people will have them=less lag
    and
the price is higher=ZoS still makes money.

There is no mount in this game worth 4000 crowns. However, there is no sense complaining. ZOS is not going to listen. Just don't buy it and problem solved. What is really funny is you will be able to buy an additional character slot for a lot less than 4000 crowns.

It's a funny thing how value and worth is subjective.

That's $100, that is just sad if you would spend that on a game.

People spend $100 on things far more sad than "games" so it's pretty sad that you'd even suggest such a thing.

I believe we've seen this exact type of post for most of the limited time items.

Does it bother you? Don't buy it. I have no need of a sparkly cat for 4,000 crowns but do I come on here and lose my mind about it? No. As always, I see the item, go "oh" and get on with my day without feeling the need to tell other people how they should spend the money they earn.

Your expectations are too damn high!

Everything looks better by comparison if you set your benchmark to such high (unrealistic? or maybe not..) standards.

ZoS are starting to show signs of not being intelligent, don't they realize they would of made more money if it were cheaper as more people would of brought it.

What would ZOS rather have? 1 person buys it for 4k or 2 people buy it for 2.5k?, you would make more money if both of those people brought it, less people are going to buy it because it's is out of many player's price range.

See this is what happens when a game goes P2W, if ESO was still sub-based we wouldn't have this stupid crown store and none of these unlorefriendly things.

Literally nothing about this game is P2W, in fact I challenge you to point out a single item in the crown store that makes you "win" the game if you buy it compared to items that can be obtained through playing the game normally. Furthermore, nothing about this mount is lore unfriendly, it ties in directly with the dro-mathra from the Maw of Lorkhaj.

This explains why they were silent about how much it was going to cost. Now we know to prepare ourselves for sticker shock when they stay silent about the price of upcoming content.

Since the cost of the limited mounts seem to keep going up, will the next one be 5000 crowns?

You don't have to buy them. Let the market dynamics sort itself out. They can price items however high they want to, if people pay for them they will continue to do so. If enough people are buying them regardless of price, it will continue to happen this way. There's literally no use in complaining about it unless this somehow directly translates to a visible decline in sales, they will have no incentive to mark down these items.

    I wouldn't say that.

Gaming is a hobby that people spend money on just like people spend money on other hobbies.

Little League baseball? $100 USD is a drop in the bucket compared to the costs you'd spend on putting your kid through Little League.
RC Cars? $100 won't even buy you half the parts for a single car.

And I can name other hobbies that people see no issue when someone sinks (literally) thousands of dollars into said hobbies.

But video games? Spend some money on video games when that is your hobby of choice, and people think it's "sad".

As I said, I'm not buying this particular mount. I personally can't justify spending more on a vanity mount than I spend on a DLC, but I have already sunk hundreds of dollars into this game, and I don't regret it one bit.

That's not "sad", that's me supporting my Hobby, and a game that I love in that hobby.

Youre not "supporting it". Its not a child support payment. Youre buying a product, exchanging money for a product. All youre doing is artificially inflating the price of items. When companies see this they know they can slap whatever price they want on an item and some one lying to themselves about why theyre spending their expendable finances will eat it up. While the rest of the population either have to spend more to obtain things that would of otherwise been cheaper or go without. Youre known as a Whale. And its not a good thing to be known as. Youre the cause of prices being hiked far higher than what would normally be considered acceptable. But companies cant help themselves when they see someone willing to part with large sums of money in one go.

Now that that is taken care of...

    Whale... lmao

I've been playing MMO's since... probably before you were born. Or at least, before you knew what they were.

Just because I don't mind buying something from the cash shop (and yes, it's called "supporting a hobby"), doesn't mean I'm going to pay any astronomical price they slap on the items in the shop.

Have I spent hundreds in this game? Absolutely.
Have I spent a hundred or hundreds of dollars on one item from an MMO cash shop? not once in over twenty (20) years of MMO gaming.

I'm well aware of what a "whale" is, and I also know that I am not one.

But, that's the type of post you get when you merely skim what someone else writes, then assume based off of baseless conjecture.

But have a great day! :D

It's limited and only lasts for 4 more days, it will be removed soon on its own. My point is, complaining about the price of an item doesn't do anything if enough people are still going to be buying the mount to justify this price from ZOS perspective.

Yes, that's called a bug not an intended feature so it's still not P2W.

You are right. No one has to buy them. But then there is also no need to keep the planned price a secret so no one can plan their budgets to purchase it. I wasn't expecting it to cost more than previous mounts. So forgive me for being a bit irked about the secrecy about the price and price hike.
