I feel like the Magicka Nightblade is super versitile, or perhaps it's OP AF?!

I love this class so much and in a way it's like it's just too good to be true

The skills and passives are just so amazing \^~^/

I'm saying this with PvE in mind first, PvP second.

First, Funnel Health is just amazing. In VWGT, with just one magicka nightblade with funnel health, I could keep the tanks health up during the Kena fight

(okay I cheated and used rapid regen too but whatever). Next? Siphoning attacks! Oh my, this skill must be sent from the ESO gods, right? I have nothing but champion points increasing my magicka regen, and I can spam funnel health while weaving light attacks to proc Kena's Overkill. On my Sorc I always have trouble with resources but that's just a L2P issue. Don't forget your Veil of Blades and refreshing path either! Definitely helps the group out.

Those passives though! Increased crit chance and damage? +8% max magicka just for having a siphoning attack slotted is soooo much better than bound aegis. Increased healing, ultimate regain, and 15% more regen to all stats *~*

And of course the super special awesome secret cloak.

Maybe it's just easy mode, maybe I'm just bad at playing a Sorc, but I really wish my first character was a Nightblade.

My first character is a Nightblade. At first he was a hybrid build because I didn't know any better. Changed him to stamina. He's a lot of fun but kinda squishy. Now I'm thinking I might respec him to magicka.

Just finished leveling a Magicka NB to v1 just in time for DB. So much health sustain.

Now I'm working on a Stamina DK, and it's much different...so little healing at the moment.

For it to be OP it has to be dominant in both PvE and PvP and with the nerf to prox det its far from OP in PvP.

It just doesn't have enough DPS without prox det to stand toe to toe with other classes or even a Stamblade.

Prox det was what tipped it over to being "better than Stamblade"

I have a feeling you'll rarely see Mageblades in PvP when the patch hits.

Its still great for PvE though, I agree.

Only disadvantage to Templar jabs is that it's melee range (although it is AOE)

But then again, Nightblades do have Sap Essence along with Funnel Health.

VD + Proxy PvP (BombBlade) is FoTM magblade. OP is indicating a heavy attack spec'd magblade with an inferno destruction staff. They can hit very hard in PvP as well as single target PvE. (if CP is set up nicely). and it doesnt rely on a specific set or proxy det.

@FrostFallFox you can make excellent PvP/PvE healers with a bit more build focus in this direction (blessed). You can have a very nice boost to group dps in PvE or nice AP making machine in PvP. Being a healer in PvP and being able to escape from being focused on with CC/purge/cloak is a real asset.

They are versatile, no doubt about it: strong in PvP, can take on all roles in PvE, easy class for vMSA,...

But OP, no way

MagBlades may be versatile, but other classes can do certain things so much better than them

Nope, played a non proxy dw/Resto mag blade today and my burst in pvp is still good. (I was never a fan of proxy) Replaced soul harvest with soul tether and my burst from that ult and timing it with merciless resolve and a couple concealed weapon is gg, it'll probably hit much harder too when db comes out since I can use spell damage glyphs.

My first character was also a Sorc. I hated it - and still do - they just don't flow well. They make much better banker alts with Streak to zip around the city.

What Im annoyed with is that it doesnt really have a solid theme. Its a mix of so many different archetypes it has no identity of its own.

My stamblade is nice in PvE (and in dungeons, if healer is good

), but she has almost 0 survivability in PvP. My momentum heal is a joke, but it's all I have, and it's not my native class ability. To get at least Vigor, I need to get alliance points. To get points, I need to be successful...

I realized I've created wrong build when I saw random vr1 magblade quickly soloing vr9 public dungeon. And when I was killed by low level magblade... But I don't ask to nerf this class, because I have young nightblade who was recently changed to pure magicka

Funnel Health will no more crit double dip with the DB patch so it got already a nerf

My magica NB started off as a dual wield gank build. Then it was a destro resto build. Then about build. Currently on an ice staff and resto.

I've just converted my stam Nb to a magica sap tank. Can't wait together gear sorted and play around with it.

Versatile it is but not op imo. I like dpsing and tanking with my dk and dpsing and healing with my templar. My templar and dk are better at healing and tanking and my sorc does more damage in short fights and in certain situations my dk or templar too. But my nightblades can tank all but prison in light armor while dpsing and healing at same time. Magicka nbs play so easy i made a second one and those 2 chars are most played atm. And in a few days my little stamblade will have not only a v1 maelstrom bow but also some nice v16 maelstrom daggers available; looking forward to that:)
