Why does the lower level gear look better than the higher level?

The vast majority of these armors are impractical. No one could move around the way these characters do wearing all that gear. A Dodge roll in heavy armor? Dark souls did that right.

Lol they should also have to drink fluids to keep themselves from being cooked in that hotbox. (I wear heavy armor).

Armor rarity, ( green, blue, purple, gold) alters the item's luster. A gold item will be much shinier than a white item

I mean how the armor gets more saddlebags, belts, larger more intrusive shoulders. The bows and quivers are suddenly humungous. It suddenly gets more complicated.

I was referring to a comment about the armors getting a polished look. But, I would imagine it gets (beefier?) as you advance to balance the appearance with the increased resistances. That would be the only thing I could think of.

I suppose, but a lot of these beefier additions just don't make sense. They look so impractical.

Yeah, but don't try find practicality in a fantasy game with talking tiger cats and lizards. Ironically, the Khajiit armor is one of the few, that essentially remains the same in the end tiers too.

Yes, it would be nice. All that work on those styles by development largely goes to waste as we level past their tier.

The simplest thing I can think of would be to add another option to the crafting window that lets us select the visual tier of the item we're crafting. We would be able to select any tier equal to, or below, the tier of materials being used.
I'd love to have this. I really love the low level breton gear.

I'd suggest adding an aditional layer on the crafting UI. It would let you pick the gear tier of any style you've learned. Simple as that.

Ive never been a fan of the Nords Gear both lower and higher. The V just sneaks down the chest as you level and out of no where you get these Road Warrior Spikes popping out of everywhere.

Its odd, a lot of the Racial Motifs in my opinion are just garbage. Redguard seems to be the only ones that got some really good treatment as far as design from top to bottom. Bretons have some interesting low level gear (especially the medium and heavy) but they get really complicated over time and in some cases change drastically per material change. The Bretons higher level heavy armor looks like it be really hard to move around like we do in game. No way youd be able to bend over and collect items let alone crouch and sneak around. I get they were trying to imitate medieval heavy armored knights. But geez.

Sometimes I wish theyd do a QoL pass on the Armor. Go back and touch them up make the armor pop where it should pop. Make it look like its being worn and not some strange wetsuit. Do something about the Orc Ancient Motif. The work done on that was just as lazy as the Nord, Altmer and Bosmer motifs.

I really would kill for a way to wear the lower level Bosmer gear. It's by far my favorite. And the low level Dwemer bows and so much more appealing to the eye.

The thing is, the new gear looks good, just not on females.

Its not just about gender-specific models. Its about having style options.

Also, some people seem to assume that everyone who asks for this feature only wants these low level bosmer outfits (and even if some people do, what's wrong with that?)
I agree wth OP, high level designs often look too gaudy.
For example, I really like low level redguard belts:
    2T02VMT.png
...But on lvl 36+ they transform into this :s :
    GlvQmwd.png
Or breton hat+shoulders. Of course, the texture and dyes look better on high level ones, but the design is completely changed, and it would be nice if we could keep that hood without a mask, and shawl-like shoulders.
    xdET0OW.png
Many weapons also look different at low levels (and I prefer low-level versions :( ). Here's a couple of examples.
Dwemer beech staff vs dwemer vr staff:
    y4XEAHJ.jpg
Barbaric maple staff vs vr staff:
    kQDltv5.png
So... I dont understand why cant they implement something like this + being able to change styles of existing items. More character customization is always nice, especially for TES fans who are spoiled by custom mods. ;)

@KoshkaMurka I agree. And the strange thing in all this is that they have the mechanic already in place in-game. We have always been able to alter some of our armour to make it Imperial In appearance.

I don't think there are any negatives to implementing some of the above ideas we've asked for. (ideas that expand on current game mechanics).

I wish they'd just let us choose the appearance of what you want to wear. The way the armor looks and the stats should be seperate, so there is more customization and choice. I mean, TES games have always been about choice and freedom to move around. This should be no different.

The older armour sets are better, the new ones are flashy but they lack the evolution the older ones had. Overall armour in general needs an overhaul, the different materials need more changes than just a colour scheme, they need a different look as a crafter becomes more adept at their preferred medium.

An amateur blacksmith won't produce the same works as a master blacksmith and the armours need to reflect that.
