I've died 40+ times on the last boss and it's pissing me off now it's ridiculous. I just don't get how people do this or even find it fun and I'm just going to call it quits a bit.

vMSA is all about memory and timing. DPS helps ignore timing, but you dont need a ton of damage to actually beat it. Then again, I never tried it with a controller, so that too could be your issue.

Hang in there. It's not supposed to be easy. If it was, everyone would do it.

I personally died well over 200 times before I reached the end of the fight. Think of it as learning a song. You have to learn each note (step of the fight) at a time, and once you have learned them all, you must practice over and over to get it perfect. Only then will you get it. And once that happens you'll question what was so hard in the first place.

If you're frustrated give it a break. Try again. By the time I finally beat it, I felt like neo at the end of the first matrix. Each step was obvious and I would dodge roll, stun boss, launch towards healer, etc like it was second nature.

Again it just takes time. You'll get it. If I can do it on a Templar kajiit, you can.

    Be neo ;)

Ps - it's not fun. But the feeling you get when overcoming the odds is phenomenal. One of the best I've ever had In gaming. Beating round 3, then 5, then 6, then 7 and finally 9 were milestones I thought I could never achieve. But I did. And you will too :)

Take a break and come back to it another day. The more pissed off you are the more likely you are to fail. The last boss is the hardest round imo, took me several days to finish the first time, and you're right; it's not fun. The fun comes when you know you just beat it. The last round started to feel easier the 4th time I completed it, but I'm a slow learner. You'll get it :)

if it makes you feel better , I cant get past the 6th stage on the non vet!
But also its not something you just show up to and run through. I will beat both eventually! I just don't feel like reworking my build to do it right now.

Try to find a video of how the fight is done, with a character of your own class and wether it's magicka or stamina. It might help you a bit to see how someone els succeeds with a build that is not much far from your own.

x_Nathan_F You can do it bro. Listen...I went through over 200 soul gems trying this. If you are dying that much, and you are a sorc, you're doing the same thing I did. Can you tell me what you're set up is?

    Ha, I lol'd ;)

The argonian boss has tighter mechanics to observe, less margin for error if that makes sense. But as you say; the last boss is more chaotic, more going on, more to tend to. The argonian boss is always the end of my flawless run, but if I made it past that round with no death then the last stage would end the flawless run for sure.

It's normal for people to die over 100 times on the final boss on their first time through. At 40, he's just getting started.

Congrats. Only 65 deaths on Voriak is pretty good for a first clear.

If I could do it on a stamina character, you can do it on a sorc.

Sorc is best in slot for beating vmsa.

You just have to memorize the mechanics and who spawns when.

When does the boss shoot his skull?
When does the boss do his interruptable spam attack?
When does the crematorial guard spawn?
    Etc.

You have to know all of those by heart before you can beat it.

Vmsa is not a dungeon you can beat by reacting to situations. You can only beat it by memorizing situations and planning to execute a specific actions to overcome those situations.

Everyone is right. I actually LOVE THE LAST BOSS. He's actually a lot of fun now. Except the crystals....screw those crystals. I actually struggle more with the Ash Titan on Round 5 than Voriak. I always forget those add spawns are on a timer. Extremely hard to do with no sigils.

If you didn't read my post that's on you. But I clearly said it took me 250 tries to beat it. So yes, 40+ runs is nothing. He beat it in 65, so for my advice to be keep going was on point.

Who are you to tell me I'm trolling anyway?

I've been playing it all day yesterday and today, and the bugs and is atrocious. It's taking 3-4 seconds to swap bars on console, and the numerous health desyncs as well as freezing is ridiculous. It's to the point my Sorcerer won't even shoot his Overload light attacks. He just stands there and looks like he's trying to hit the enemy with his elbow, while the controller vibrates. Zenimax really should be ashamed of themselves. Seriously. How the hell are you suppose to farm this place with crap like that going on?

OH! And by the way. 19 runs, and not a single weapon drop. Not 1. Zero. 0-19 for Maelstrom weapons. I'm quitting veteran Maelstrom Arena until DB launches. This is disgusting. Seriously.
