Swap Tactician passive from Atronach tree with Shield Expert and then swap Shattering Blows (the passive that fits best with medium armor - shield breaker) with Block Expertise. And done.
2: Gear-swap tanks. Both of my tanks are gear-swap tanks. They switch between DPS and tanking with a change of gear, food, and mundus stone. It allows for a greater freedom of play and more versatility. For example, my DK goes from 18K health, 41K magicka, and 10K stamina to 28K health, 26K magicka, and 20K stamina with just a simple swap of gear and food. The clear distinction right now, where red is defense, green is sustain, and blue is damage, makes it possible for me to do this without spending 3K gold every time I change roles. And there are a lot of tanks who fit into this category, esp. since remaining in tank mode doesn't make sense when doing solo content like vMA or questing.
I didn't say I didn't like it, I said ideas like that get looked past simply because it will not work in one half of the game, that's what the whole we are eso live needs to work on, looking at both sides of the game and coming up with ideas.PvP doesn't get to dictate the game's direction by crippling the play style of the other half of the game.hammayolettuce wrote: »I like builds being forced to spread out CP, it allows for more build diversity that isn't here currently.
An very not so thought out change that needs to be reverted.
This is like We Are ESO saying that heavy armor needs a passive for "Critical Resistance" yes it is a good idea but it doesn't work well rounded for PvP and PvE which is why I dislike the We Are ESO Live Podcasts, most of the ideas resolve around PvP and heavily damage PvE
So hold a PvE "We are ESO" podcast and suggest PvE changes, or suggest a PvE oriented passive to accompany the crit damage reduction passive suggested for PvP such as 0.75% reduced damage from boss monsters per piece of heavy armor equipped.
It's an incredible idea that would make heavy armor actually useful in PvP over light or medium. We can't afford to have ideas like that thrown out just because PvEers don't like it. Add to the conversation. Don't try to silence it.
After all this time, I've registered on the official forums just to give my vote and say on this CP change.
Many of the other tanks in-game and just on this thread have already touched on a lot of the valid points. I just do not still see the point of this change and am waiting for the official explanation as to why this change was/will be implemented.

It doesn't take too much skill anymore to just get decent amount of DPS. To properly tank it 'll take a lot more skill. Maybe DK is still easy mode with the proper setup but, lets say for templar, sorcerer or Nightblade tanking is really unbalanced they should have some buffs in my opinion make them have something similar as what dk has to gain resources back from something.
Imagine if you have a stamina pool of 30k as tank (which is very high) you have to keep aggro of 3 adds and 1 bigger add, so basically you need to do 4 times pierce armor maybe 1 time heroic slash to get some extra ulti and to reduce enemies target.
Also all those 4 adds will hit you so your stamina will be drained quite a lot. Even with stamina pots and picking up spears on the 20s cooldown (but synergies are *** so you can't pick up a spear if you need it fix it for god sake Zenimax) You still wouldn't have enough resources to keep the adds taunted an keep your block up.
Well for tanking Zenimax doesn't want you to perma block but its just soo *** because if you're not blocking you probably will get 50% ish more incoming damage. It wouldn't matter too much if you could tank w/o block but sadly that is not the case you simply have to block otherwise you will get too much damage and the healers will complain.
Also the main reason as tank is absorb the damage from the boss so the group won't suffer the boss their hits. but why would you release block to get more damage.... it just doesn't make sence.... you want to absorb as much damage as possible... thats why you are a tank.. Am I right or not.
As tank I just don't want to sit hit taunt once in a while and that's it. I want it to be very active so you have a lot things you have to take care of inorder to be the best you can when tanking with a certain class. Sadly the only tank is a DK where this is possible so fix your game zenimax don't forget the tanks. its not only PVP...............
@Wrobel , I hope you read this and think really carefull what you are going to do with tanks... DK is the only perfect tank but w/o their battle roar they will be ***. I thought darkbrother hood was balancing tanks making them more reliable but sadly the only f. thing you made us post on a forum thread didn't even go in consideration and just simply remove 20% block cost and whoo nerf tanks again. Fix it buff NB TEMPLAR and Sorcerer to be reliable tanks as well then you did your job good. Make it a bit easier for their resource management... at least thats not hard to balance.. I hope.??
Sorry for the rage but I sadly cannot wait and let tanks be destroyed dismantelled to their unusefullness. W/o a good build setup and your own choice of tanking playstyle it would be sooo boring I rather Use a lot of skills then only a few.
