Are you attacking from behind?I thought whenever you crouch and are hidden, you will do bonus damage.
Is that true or is that only with regular attacks?
Whenever i crouch (hidden) and i use my skills, 50% of the time I do bonus damage.
I don't really understand crouching/stealth damage bonuses.

Not exactly, I'm pretty sure that the magicka version of surprise attack (concealed weapon?) Gets the sneak attack bonus too

Concealed Weapon already has a stun built into the ability, which means it will stun at any angle, as long as you are in sneak or invisible. There is no bonus damage from using Concealed Weapon from sneak, other then the 10% bonus from the Master Assassin passive.
The idea that only abilities that scale off weapon crit will get the sneak bonus is due to a long standing TES ideology that the light and sound from casting a spell would give away your position and alert the enemy, thus giving them time to react, nullifying the sneak bonus.
Stealth bonus only works from behind, even with ranged attacks

LOL realistically how can this logic be applied if the spell is cast right at your back or a lightning bolt? besides the DB has a mage that kills enemies before they can react

Sry, I don't understand this. I have khajiit nightblade with a bow, and in a moment I enter stealth, I see on my char stats that automatically is raised my weapon damage and it's a significant increase. With all passives, build for maximum damage and power spell, I kill by 1 (sorcerers) - 2 (knights) shots most standard npcs from stealth, with snipe from ourtemost distance. First shot does about 24-25k damage on mob in Cyrodiil, when stealth is broken it's significantly less damage. I didn't notice that hitting enemy from stealth, when they stand either forward or turned back to me, actually make any difference.
