Shadow barrier is a passive. All of the things u mentioned above r skills that they have to put on their bar and most likely ur going to have something to proc the shadow barrier passive. If u want it to last longer make them waste a skill slot to get it
Currently a Nightblade's personal access to Major Resolve and Major Ward is the passive "Shadow Barrier." This issue is that the duration is far too short. In full heavy armor it last for 11 seconds - while more commonly a tank would be running 5 heavy/1 medium/1light dropping it to a lousy 9 second duration.
I'm not asking for anything extreme - I just think it's fair to buff it by a few seconds to be a little more competitive with other classes.
Dragonknights have Spiked Armor that last 20 seconds.
Templars have Rune Focus that lasts 15 seconds
Sorcerers have Lightning form that lasts 15 seconds (20s with the magicka morph which most people use)
I think it would be fair to have Shadow Barrier last for 12s with 5 heavy, and 15s with 7 heavy. This isn't a huge change in any way, but as it is the only way to access Major Resolve/Ward (besides Immovable which is a tremendous stamina drain), I think it is a reasonable buff to keep Nightblade Tanks on an equal field in terms of resistances with other class tanks.

Templar's rune lasts 12 seconds. 8 if you leave it so.....yea. Give us 15 seconds both ways and I'm good with lengthening NB's. Not that they need it as it auto refreshes on so many skills.

Which skills are cast often by NB tanks? Not Shadow Cloak, Veiled Strike, or Aspect of Terror. The ult doesn't count cause Aggressive Warhorn>All.
This leaves tanks with Path of Darkness and Summon Shade. Is it balanced with the current duration? I dunno, maybe? The duration seems to be about the same duration as Path of Darkness. Therefore you gotta keep it up to keep the buff up, or recast Summon Shade every 9 seconds, which is not optimal given the shade duration. Maybe it needs work, maybe not.
The biggest roadblock here is that Veiled Strike is in the Shadow tree.
So for stamblades and melee magblades who use Surprise Attack / Concealed Weapon as their main DPS spammable, they will have Shadow Barrier up virtually 100%, even with the short duration that you get if you're not wearing heavy armor. People already complain about Shadow Barrier being too strong for that reason.
If they moved Veiled Strike to the Assassination tree, where it would make much more sense (it can trade places with Blur--after all, Assassination is the offensive tree and Shadow is the defensive tree), then they can buff up the duration of Shadow Barrier a bit for tanks without worrying about how much more imbalance that would add in DPS scenarios because, with Veiled Strike out of the picture, you'd need to cast a defensive buff skill to get Shadow Barrier instead of getting it as a part of your usual DPS rotation.

This is because the armor passives make it worth the loss of armor. If you are hooked on your undaunted passive take a moment to actually see what bonus its giving you and you'll realize that its not actually that beneficial.
I swear everyone wants every class to be cookie cutters of each other with different names. It plays fine as is.
