just learn it its not impossible if you want the weapons badly enough bite the bullet spend a few hours to learn it then farm the place.

And how exactly am I supposed to get weapons from this? vMA only drops well-sh*tted helmets on the last boss.

i got a bow yesterday with sharpened and a winterborne jerkin today so the answer it seems is to run it loads a not offend rngeebus

Normal mode is extremely easy to be dropping any weapons

    For what class and build?
Tried today normal MA for the first time on my DK Health/Stam hybrid in gold gear (TBS 5 piece, 3 piece agility, 2 endurance, 1 blood spawn, 1 mephala). It was not easy at all starting at stage 5+ i suppose. Sure, I don't know the mechanics, but still.

you clearly didnt get the memo about hybrids

I do understand what you're saying but I noticed it might be taken as if I am categorizing everyone under the same label so I edited it to emphasis that I was referring to that one person(and some others) and using what he said as an example to present something very true. So there is no need for the red herring at the top.

Also I'm suddenly a guy? That could be misrepresented as being sexist and used with the "emotional scaring taken" from that place comment i mentioned above.
Hahahahaha thanks for the laugh ...sorry out of topic, but really funny xD :p

This game already caters to "casuals". The ridiculous ease of 90% of the game's content. If you don't like "hardcore" vMA, you can go do the ridiculously easy nMA that can be beaten even if your character is naked and has no armor and jewelry. And "casuals" can just craft a gear set that's almost as effective as dropped gear.

The point of contention is whether people who do the easy content should be rewarded the same as people who do the hard content.

And the simple answer is "no". This isn't about casual-vs-hardcore. This is about basic fairness and common sense. Rewards should be proportional to the effort and work that you put in. I can't believe that there are people here who'd try to reframe that basic tenet of life as some sort of "elitism".

Furthermore, nobody needs a Maelstrom weapon. It's shiny and nice to have, but you can do all the content in the game without Maelstrom weapons if you have the skill, and, conversely, having a Maelstrom weapon will not make up for a lack of skill. As I've said earlier, if you think that a vMA weapon will make the difference in whether or not you can beat vMA, then you have no idea what vMA is about and what it takes to beat it.

When my new sorc hit VR1 during cake week, the first thing I did was beat vMA for the lolz of having that title at VR1. I had no monster sets or other fancy BoP gear at VR1--the only gear I had was crafted 5p Julianos and 3/4p Magnus and 3 pieces of Warlock jewelry (costs just a couple thousand from a guild store). This is all gear that is easily accessible to any "casual" player. And I had an easier time at it than another sorc in one of my guilds who, despite having better gear, had a rougher run. And that's because, as we keep reiterating over and over and over, it's not the gear that matters, it's practice, practice, and more practice (I had beaten vMA multiple times on my nightblade prior to this, and he was working on his second clear).

I raise you a new argument. Weapons should stay vet mode exclusive to encourage people to beat vMA in the first place. This will take a lot of time and effort for many of them and keep them busy with the game for longer.
Since we now have a save mechanic everyone can do it at their own pace and continuously work on their own performance in there for howeverlong he/she likes to until doing something else, so they wont feel overwhelemd by what the content requires from them.
Having this goal to work towards is important to keep people in the game that might otherwise leave, simply because they might think they have achieved everything to "max out " their character.
