Bogdan the nightflame set - any experience?

So i just got some decent pieces of it and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it?

We ran a fairly easy dungeon spindleclutch on veteran, where i hoped i could see some effect of it. Basicially using rapid regeneration, healing springs and the occational breath of life.

So i guess it works as anytime anyone actually recieve healing its 2% chance to spawn the totem. meaning 2% x 3 for every tick of allies, and with constant healing springs stacking it is 2% x 3 x3. Meaning around 24% chance for it to potentionally happend. But i couldnt see any totem at all.

So what does the totem look like, what should i be on the watch for? Whats the best method of triggering it? And is it a total waste? because i honestly didnt feel any difference using it at all.

The totem is a black jagged shard that lands with a thunk. Unless people know what it is, they are more likely to run away from it. It is stationary and has a small radius, so it does not work with reactive movement like say... moving away from bogdans fire rain. I find this ironic. The only benifit over nearly any other set would be if your group is stationary and standing on top of each other. And if you are using enough heals to proc it at a reasonably reliable rate, you are likely already overhealing, so it wont proc anyways.

I think they do, but you would be better off with something that procks off heavy attacks, or boosts spell damage or has regen or cost reduction.

you have to do actual healing for it to proc. The target hast to have less than full health. Won't proc if you heal someone at full health.

Will proc on someone out of combat that has taken fall damage.

Will proc off hots and offensive skills that heal you.

I don't believe it procs off skills that return a percentage of health.

i use it, and i run a weird healing setup from what i have been told,

Bol, Mutagen, Purification, blazing shards, healing ward.

and it heals more often then healing ward, so it works.

Ran this set for a long time with 5 seducer and 3 willpower and had an loose staff because I couldn't fit another piece in. There are concrete issues I have with it. The radius is too small is the biggest issue. People move around a lot and don't know what it is when it procs so they move out of it on purpose thinking it's an enemy spell or it drops in an AoE so they have to move out of it anyways. I switched to 3 piece archmage to get the extra spell damage and magicka recovery and feel like I run out of magicka less and have slightly stronger heals. Overall, not a great set.

When did it just get a buff? Thieves guild?

Its actually a pretty bad set, might be good in trials but thats about it.

Yes, the healing component is getting buffed in TG. I wouldn't say that it "just got a buff", since TG isn't live... yet.

In any case, IMO, even with the buff, it's still a trash set. And in trials, RNG heals that might or might not be there isn't going to be very useful. There are far better things that you can do with those two armor slots than to slot Bogdan.

definetly, 5 julianos 3 willpower, 1 molag kena and 2 seducer. better regen and more damage/heals. Was just fun trying it out with energy orbs - but thats about all it was.

I'd have prefered the set wroking similar to templars Rite of Passage Ultimate, healing (up to 4?)people in a 20m radius around the totem or something. Stacking isnt neccessary in most situations, rendering the set mostly useless in its current condition.

Buff this undaunted set %proc please

Even if they increased the proc chance, it would still be inferior compared to other sets you can benefit more of. By design it requires overhealing to proc, which is bad because it provides healing that is not needed.

If it provided some sort of CC, damage, increase in stats, a buff or provided magicka/stamina to group members then it would be worth equipping.

I think the best option would be to have it cast something like necrotic (healing) orb. Maybe not exactly the same like valkin casting meteor, but it should be mobile somehow, and give more than healing before i would consider it over kenna, or heck, nearly any of the others.

It's horrible. The buff they gave it is pointless due to the healing area being absurdly small. Your whole group would have to stand on top of you to receive any benefit from the totem as it drops on the wearer instead of the person that proc'd it for you.

They would have to increase the size to around 25-30 meters and make it drop on whomever has lowest HP, an active taunt or the wearer of the 2 piece set, in that order.

Make the set a life stealing totem that has an aoe effect on both draining and healing and I'll check back in. As a pure heal only set, it lacks any sort of wow factor. I have to heal to get it to heal. Yay?! It lacks any real synergy. If I'm using 2 slots just so I can heal more, might as well just be two slots devoted to more spellpower or higher max magicka so I can do other things with it as well if I prefer. This is easily the weakest of the monster sets right now and I'd expect a buff to it at some point hopefully.

Stow that set because it is not worth using it. You could be stacking more spell power for some side dps or better heals or even using any of the better undaunted sets. The totem is static and the drop zone just too random for it to be effective.
