people who dont know how to grind

I remember getting /yelled at when doing the quest at the Tower of Lies, because apparently I was "frakking up their XP"

I knew they were grinding and I was trying to avoid the ogrim as best I could, but I'm afraid my questing take priority.

I was only there for about five minutes, 'cause by that point I'd done the quest so many times I'd already heard all the dialogue, and I just wanted to finish the quest.

You know...a grinder may not be entitled to an area but neither are you (questers). If someone's grinding in your quest hub could you not just try to avoid the mobs in their loop (usually pretty easy to figure out) and finish your quest without hassle?

Also here's something to think about next time a grinder seems like a ***. These people are usually up there with the simple task of leveling an alt for hours, and every few minutes a quester comes along and ruins the exp for them.

Also a PSA: Don't grind in groups of more than 2...you lose exp this way unless that finally got fixed.

So, I should shelve my quests and go and sit in a corner if there is grinders?
Perhaps I could come back and do my questing at a time that's convenient for a total stranger, whose only common trait with me is that we give zero ***** about each other?

Or maybe, grinders could just not be Twaddles and increase the time of a 5 minute quest into 30mins because I can't find the quest target when they pull and kill the NPC that I need to find constantly. I literally had to camp the marker and wait to see the respawn and then get some hits in before 6 grinders melt him on their loop.

I grinding was the be all and end all of this game, there wouldn't be any quests and grinding spots would never be shut down. So, grinders don't like questers jumping through their grind and questers don't like grinders making it difficult to find objectives (a 500% increase in quest time is not at all reasonable).

It sounds like we're all going to have to agree to just be salty at each other.

    Khajiit once tried to grind.

Then she was banned from the marketplace in Daggerfall for trying to sell lumpy coffee to a guard. The choking caused quite a scene that morning.

This one is sure that she read the best coffee is made from coffee beans and the sweepings of the floor of the wood mill ...

My mate and I were trying to deter this four man group with two vet 16's in it from grinding in old Orsinium on Monday night because our XP was going from 10k to 3k so we'd rush ahead and kill all but one enemy from each group to mess with the spawns, after 20 long minutes they gave up only to have another group come in their place. This week's bonus XP has been all for naught with the extra people in grinding zones.

Long story short some people may not look like they know how to grind but some of us definitely do haha. Also, the XP penalty for grinding with more than two people is ridiculous.

@failkiwib16_ESO I'm a lowish level (47) so equipment is what I pick up. A mix of medium and light, green and purple. All roughly about my level. I use the PVP support healing skill to regenerate some health.

My biggest problem is the weapon. I have a magic NB so it is des staff. I'm dying so much because it is taking me so long to wear the people down. A V16 can come along and kill them in one or two hits but i'm taking 10 plus. Am getting there though so hopefully I might be of some use in a grinding environment in the future

You know, when I first read this post, I thought everyone was being elitist. Theeeeennnnn I decided to grind at Rkindaleft early this morning.

People were farming TWO spots, running back and forth and camping until respawn. Then, when I'm pulling mobs at the lower level near the river/waterfall area where you have Dwarven constructs and the Rkindaleft warriors, these people saw what I was doing and jumped in to take some XP. Now, I wouldn't ordinarily mind, but I had already tried to group with a few of them and voiced my intention to help. Frustrating - my grind took longer than it should have.

Yeah, so true. Before the cake me and a mate were grinding and getting a solid 1.5m xp/h with ambrosia/scroll. Now with the cake AND scroll were barely hitting 1m xp/h

I cant count the number of time people have been "grinding" in an area i need to kill for a quest. IMO they are the rude ones keeping others from completing quest.

I think you may be alittle confused about how the cake works. You can keep reapplying the 100% exp increase until the 12th (pretty sure they extended it until then) after that its just a momento that doesnt do anything, even if youve never used it before

No offence to those poeple who said they deliberately spite grindders and ruin the spawn or stick around and leech exp did you stop to think that some of those people actually used scrolls? Which cost real life money?

I'll give an example: A few weeks (3 or 4 ) ago a guy whispered me he needed about 5 Xivkyn motifs ( leggings at the time was well over 10k , it was one of the items he wanted ) the total market value was easily over 25k for all 5 he wanted.

Now I am not sure if he actually needed all of them or after having heard me agree to sell the leggings for under 50% of market value he asked me to sell him all the expensive ones as well ( I sold them all for 15k to this guy ) with one condition:

Do something nice to another player in the future.

I grinded the other night with 3 people not in a group. I basically attracted the mobs with light attack arrows and then tanked the large blob of enemies for them to mow it down. Had a great time and am looking forward to the next grind spot I plan to roll around in 1.0

This is exactly why I try to be nice when I grind with others outside of being partied, I can face roll mobs so easily being at the cap versus the other grinders around me. I know that can be really annoying to someone trying to level up for the first time.

The two areas I go to to grind at have quests around them. But those quests do not require the questee to kill those mobs for credit. There is also a cap on how far the EXP goes from grinding these spots. Once you out level those spots, the enemies don't give EXP anymore. That is when it is time to move on. Frees up the spot for someone else to use it which I am more then happy to do once I out level the spot.

I cannot imagine what Orsinisum's public dungeons look like right now... Frankly, those two places are not my cup of tea when it comes to grinding.

@wonkydog ohhh dear >.< I'm not the best nightblade, but I would recomend you to start with this:
What platform and server do you play on?

Go steal & fence green - purple quality items + gather flowers and raw materials.
    Sell rough wood for 16g
    Sell cloth for 20g
    Sell ore for 30g
    Sell columbine for 340g
Sell Lady's Smock for 100g-240g (prices are going up lately)

<< do that till you have 15k-20k, find a crafter to make you:
    5 pieces of Seducer
2 armor pieces of Torugs Pact
    1 fire staff
    1 restoration staff.

armor trait all divines or infused
    weapon trait all precise

    Green quality armor
    Blue quality weapons.

Buy white magicka glyphs for your armor and weapons at the enchanter NPC in Coldharbour.
Choose The Atronach as your mundus stone.

Use Strife for self healing. If you don't have access to this skill yet, get Grand Healing and Regeneration from the Restoration staff skill line ...it's the first and second skill, so they're easy to gain.

Use Drain Power for hitting multiple enemies at once. < In case you do not have this skill unlocked in your Siphoning skill line, then use Wall of Elements and Impulse from the Destruction Staff skill line. You just basically have to have an Area of Effect skill slotted, that deals damage to multiple enemies at once.

Well, I very rarely grind myself, did run into some grinders in Hew's bane, by the lich delve boss and they told me I wasn't allowed to kill the boss when I was just passing through for a quest, lol. Was very satisfying to let them understand that they don't own the boss, lol. Grinders just have to wait nicely if they want to grind in a quest area and a quester comes through.

I hate to break it to you guys, but ginders (or questers for that matter) have no claims to any mobs in the game. It's practically public property--anyone can fight them.

Furthermore, there is no "correct" way to grind (optimal, yes, but not correct) so you shouldn't get into too much of a hissie fit when a person is pulling/killing mobs in whatever fashion just because it doesn't live up to your standards.

You can offer advice, but never should you try to enforce. Trying to enforce it for whatever reason to a person who wants little to do with you (as opposed to say, joining your hardcore group) makes you little more than an outright pri** at best, a harasser at worst.
