Sexism implications aside, if I were ZOS I'd be embarrassed for putting out such shoddy work. You shouldn't be okay with anything looking that bad on characters that players are investing time and creative energy into. And it's not like only female gamers are playing female characters or want their female characters to not look unnaturally bloated.

Regardless, Zeni has clearly already won here. OP as given a generous amount of money to Zeni, probably more so than their average customer. Jokes on OP.

Had they pulled it off right, I doubt people would be so upset. The fact that some of the new stuff looks like trash is the problem. Diversify away by all means. But they couldn't be bothered to even make sure it didn't look completely stupid before they released it. At the very least it should resemble the body that is wearing it. NO ONE made any humpbacked and bizarro chested characters, I can promise you that. It is completely insane that this is considered acceptable business practice. Watch out guys, the next batch is going to make ONE leg and foot completely bloated and we will be told to suck it up buttercups. Its the same thing as what is going on right now.

I'm also female and I guess I dont get too hung up on male vs female characters. I've played lots of games where the only choice was to play a male role (Half Life, Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc). I even have some male characters in ESO along with my female ones and I enjoy playing all of them. What does take me back is oversexualized characters, games where the only armor choice is skimpy, revealing armor...seriously how is skimpy heavy armor realistic..., and games where female roles are reduced to sniveling, screaming, mewling, fawning idiots instead of strong characters. I just find all of that extremely insulting as a female.

This is one of those things zos can't please everyone on it seems. On one hand you got people who know female armor with boob plates would not work as well as regular armor and could see it as sexist... or something. Then on the other hand you got people that like fantasy armor with impractical designs with glaring weaknesses in the chest area. I mean I know for a fact people used to complain that the armor was unrealistic before and now we ended up here. I suppose at least we still have the old armors for people that like that sort of stuff and new armor for the other side of the problem.

I do find it hilarious that zos is seen as sexist either way though. New or old design people say women are being treated unfairly. Either by having to use "sexy" armor or armor that is for men.
I wrote a poem that I titled, "The ganker's delight."

As you lay upon the ground, cry not little pawn.
The pain will pass as quickly as my blade did take you,
but my delight will last and you will respawn.
My heart simply cannot contain my joy, when I ply my trade.

The fault lies with you, your skill was lacking.
Now your salt is mine forever, can't you hear the laughing?
Once you were so proud and now you are reduced to this.
    A miserable, loud deuced fool.

With every tear you drip, with every excuse you let slip.
All of your insecurities and worries bring a smile to my lip.
From your despair I have ripped endless glories,
but our affair is over now. Be afraid for I will return for more.

I have received many titles, to my allies I am The sniper Emperor and Grand champion hero of the Pact. However these titles mean little to me, it is the ones given to me by my victims that I prefer. To them I am "Xv1er", "trash", "no balls", "zerger", "noob", "cringe", "no skill", "camper", "100% new", "the reason this game is dying", "pathetic", "a sack of piece of [snip]", "mediocre", "absolute inbred", "beyond a virgin", "ganky dork", "fat smelly 40yr old virgin", "little girl", "daddy", "exploiting loser", and every [snipped] word known to man.

To get back on track...the point wasn't about "sexy armor"...there is another post for that. The point is that they couldn't care less to use a female mesh when applying armor to skin. Yes you could argue that having it mesh would be sexy, but is still not the point. Zos does things half a**ed and doesn't care about the outcome. Discuss more along those lines

I think if a study could be done we'd find that while men are just as likely to play female as male characters women typically play female characters. Possibly women enjoy identifying with their characters more than men. Which is neither good nor bad and certainly there are exceptions to the "rule" for both genders. This is just based on what I myself have observed in my many years of playing games of all sorts, from old school pen and paper RPGS up through MMOS.

Though I play a few male characters here in ESO my main and the vast majority of the rest are female. And, like irish, I have no interest in playing ANY game where I don't have an option to have a female character. So yeah, to see what has been done to our carefully crafted female characters is pretty horrifying indeed.

If all the issues the game has, this has to be one of the lowest priorities, I mean seriously? I would have my character run around as a black silhouette and have a proper game compared to a beautiful looking gorgeous character running around in a buggy game. Esthetics can come in at a later part of the game, i'd rather they pull out all the designers who waste time coding armor and sit down and code the game well first compared to fixing how an armor looks

Yes, and I agree with you. Those are more important to me. You can start your own thread and discuss your own gripes that Zos will ignore. This is important to her, so so her points are valid.

Everyone wants their respective version of what ESO is to them to be better. Because something doesn't impact you doesn't mean it isn't as important.

Not a female but stretched pixelated chests and thighs are very lazy the overall painted on armor is bad as well. Skip some costumes and fix your current gear.

For me it depends on the game. In a game with a specific storyline, it doesn't bother me playing a male lead, because it's 'his' story. For something more immersive/sandbox where I'm making the choices, I can't connect to a male character at all. It's why in the dozens of mmo's I've played over the years I've never had a single male character.

    i am the exact opposite.

i'll never play a woman character if I have a choice. for the exact reasons you stated.

From one girl to another... try to remain open-minded about this. You're denying yourself some real great gaming experiences just because you refuse to immerse yourself in the affairs of a male character. If you're looking for games in which you're forced to play as a female leader instead, then you can check out games like Bayonetta, Lollipop Chainsaw, Mirror's Edge... there are fun female lead games out there, but there are also (obviously) lots of really great male lead games that you're avoiding because of your own sexist agenda. Of course, when the option is available, I prefer to play as a girl as well, in order to maintain my identity throughout my playing experience, however, I'm still capable of comfortably and fully enjoying male lead games. Do any other girls feel this way? I've been playing video games as far back as I can remember, and I never entertained the idea that I could better relate to Princess Peach instead of Mario simply because she's a girl, but as I said, if and when the option presented itself, I always preferred to play as a girl. I'm curious how often you socialize on a purely friendly/brotherly level with guys. They can be harsh and gross and mean but also very funny and spontaneous and carefree, as anyone can be. I've been close friends with boys ever since preschool where we'd relate to each other through video games and trading cards, so that may have influenced my ability to easily relate to male characters. Socializing with a group of guys is different from socializing with a group of girls often only because of what interests them, and I'm assuming by your presence on this forum that you do share some interests with males, probably more so than other girls. Open yourself to the idea of not always having to be so militantly female and perhaps males could do the same.

I will read books with male protagonists quite cheerfully. Same with movies. It's really only in games that I insist on female characters to play.

I don't think this has anything to do with sexism. I'm a female and have 8 female characters. I attempted to play male characters in ESO. I leveled 3 male characters past lvl 40 and deleted them because I could not, for reasons unbeknownst to me, get immersed in the world looking through their eyes. However, in Paragon one of my favorite characters is male. To say that she's sexist just because she wants her character represented appropriately in a game is a stretch.
