Personally, so many of us that used Tythis on the PTS have been waiting for him to be released. It is all about time value of money and for some of us we feel he's worth the 5K crowns.

I'm also a raid lead and if someone in my team forgot something in their bank, well let me pull out Tythis for you to get what you need so we can get back to raiding.

In saying that, my group planned ahead. We bought crowns when they were half off so for us it is like we are getting him for 2500.

*shrugs ..... again my personal opinion

I think the price is stupid especially for what merchant offers. You can not buy and you cant not repair you can not do anything you would WANT a merchant but its almost $50? assistants would cost almost $100 and are virtually worthless. Banker no guild bank, no guilder store and you wont really be depositing anything since most everything you deposit you need to run to town for ex. decon and refine raw mats. Are people going to call the banker to deposit 1 flower? and knowing the developers there will probably be a cool down/wait time before you can summon it again or only call one or the other in a time frame. So WHY would anyone want to pay that much for what offers little to no convenience. and why would it cost MORE then the game and its expansions? I could buy BOTH "collectors edition" expansions for less . The price just makes no sense even if the assistants worked like an actual bank and merchant. I would only pay 1000-2000 if they offered actual convenience, any more then that and i will trust go to town once an hr or 2 when im full for FREE.

Without full functionality such as guild bank or repairs, it is not worth any amount of money to me. I had been looking forward to these assistants, but I need full functionality.

The utility of these assistants go beyond the Crown Store. They should have been part of the game, like with the fence.

1k to 2k, with the caveat that they are changed to allow guild access and repairs.

Instead of offering these assistants, just give us more bag space or find a better way for us to store the seemingly limitless number of different crafting materials.

Can we get an official response to our comments from Zos as to how they can justify the pricing after so many people refusing to pay 5000 crowns for 1 assistant or the bargain price of 2 for 10,000 crowns? /sarcasm

I would be OK with a bundle with both for 5k but unless that was the only way to buy them I would still only get the banker.

If I summarize the general sentiment correctly, you're saying they're not worth it. There are already ways to do what assistants do better, if a bit slower, and crafting bags mitigate the need for them even more.

Am I wrong in thinking this is a good thing?

Imagine if they were much more convenient than they are, and the general inventory experience less convenient, so many would feel compelled to buy them. Now that would be annoying with this price tag.

Imagine if they were a lot cheaper. Oh how they would depopulate towns. Will I see Orcs in wedding dresses followed around by identical bankers running through the countryside? Oh, future of Tamriel.

Now, currently, I'm saved: there's no hair on my body considering buying them, and I can reasonably assume this goes for most players. They'll stay relatively rare, keeping hubs intact and not going all bonkers all over the place.

ZOS will sell less, but they made that sacrifice for my well being. I am grateful. They will probably put it on sale at some point, maybe even add functionality. Easier than the other way around, after all.

Not really sure how I feel... considering they don't repair (clearly ZOS doesn't want to take anything away from their Repair Kit sales) and you can't access Guild Trader, these will be fairly useless for me. Sure having a Merchant would be handy to sell those worthless loot drops, but many times I have a lot of things I need to sell which add up quickly. I guess I could add them to my bank, fill that up along with personal inventory, before having to go to town to unload... I don't know, just seems like a lot of money for a product that only has half the functionality.

I'd pay 5000 Crowns to double my Bank space and my Inventory on up to 8 characters. Gladly. Even if I'd paid full price for the Crowns. TAKE MY MONEY NOW.

But for an "assistant" who saves me all of the effort required to wayshrine to a major city (146 gold, or free from the Guild menu)? Are they serious?

The fact I can't even access any Guild Banks from the banking assistant makes it doubly ridiculous. Where am I going to put all of the crafting items I picked up, if not straight into my crafting Guild's Bank? Where am I going to put all of the valuable items I want to sell, if not straight into one of my trading Guild's Traders? The most space I ever have in my personal Bank is 10 slots because most of what I want to keep is Bind on Pickup.

I think a lot of people are going to be very disappointed when they see the price of these assistants.

I really looked forward to these until I found out the excessive, greedy price tag and the limitations. I spend more time in Cyrodiil these days than I used to, and while doing delves and exploring with guildies, my inventory quickly fills up. PvP not so much.

The nerfed assistant does not justify its price tag.

In game gold would be the best... they could make it that they create different NPCs from different factions, bought with crowns, and the less "special ones" could be bought with in-game money.

I would have less of a problem paying that much if the banker allowed access to guild stores and banks like an actual banker does. For only bank access, I would not even consider paying 5000 crowns and never will.

The way things currently sit, I cannot think of a single solitary use for the Banker NPC the way that it's set up.

As it is, my bank is totally full at 240 items, all of them being crafting mats. There is ZERO room to deposit items in my bank, with the exception of topping off alchemy mats, etc. I could only see a use for the thing if, and when I get the proposed Crafting Bag, which will mean I could store gear for sale in my bank, instead of in my very full backpack, or in my short term RTS mailbox bank.

And that's the thing. RTS mail with trusted friends is a much better, and eminently cheaper solution to the NPC Banker since we can't use it to repair or access our guild banks. I'll reconsider the Banker NPC once I've got my Crafting Bag, and not a moment sooner.

The fence is another matter entirely. I don't care about the bounty issue, as the are numerous ways around that which are always safe and reliable, unless you're careless, and you deal with your own stupidity when you come to it, as I have on numerous occasions.

Now, being able to clear my backpack of 10-60+ items when I cannot RTS mail is another matter entirely, and that's the rule, rather than the exception with me, because I'll steal most anything that's not nailed down in this game. Theft has always been a major source of income for me in this game on e I learned how it worked. Quite frankly, it paid for all of my bag and bank upgrades.

I'm going to be tempted by the Fence NPC, but I doubt I'll drop 5,000 Crowns on it. I'll just wait for it to go on sale for half price or lower. I would however drop 1,500-2,500 Crowns on the Fence NPC.

Always remember, it's just items you ever have to worry about carting around in this game, because ESO doesn't penalize you for currency weight, like EverQuest did. I can, and always do, regularly carry 200K to 1M gold on me at all times for making large Dreugh Wax purchases. I'm ALWAYS buying it.

    The Wax must flow...

No way would I even consider spending close to $50 for one of them. Price points such as these make ZOS look money grubbing, greedy and desperate. In fact, it makes me want to keep all my money in my wallet. When the next good MMO comes along, they're going to pay the price. No pun intended.

While I disagree with the current 5k asking price. I do feel they shouldnt be dirt cheap either. Im choosing what I consider the more high end price tag that Id feel comfortable paying for them because I feel like its best to come to a compromise. And no one should be entirely too happy with a compromise. These items are convenience and they are "luxury" so it makes no sense for them to be as cheap as a pet when they actually do serve a function. On the flip side, I do feel as if they arent luxury enough to warrant being more expensive than the Limited Time Only Mounts or a DLC (I feel similarly about the Motifs). The most expensive items in the store should not be these one off luxury items but the DLCs. Followed by Luxury Items/Mounts and then Costumes/Pets with a range of convenience items like XP Scrolls falling in between them.

I hope the crown store comes up with something a bit better than assistance for the next 6 months being the standard crown store release.

I do wonder how longer before the gather is created and I just have to log on once a day to collect hundreds of mats and send him back out again.

To be honest I'm baffled that this thread is still going given the reasoning they gave for why they closed the other survey. Hopefully they won't close and sink this survey too.

Keep linking it and dont give up on driving it home that they are failing their customerbase by doing this. They tried to ignore Console players when they demanded Text Chat.....And even when forum goers went out of their way to hijack those threads the pro-text players won out and got what they demanded.

Does the banker provide access to guild bank and guild store? If so, would be handy for anyone who has a big bounty.
Why? There are always the banks in Cold Harbour and Eversea where the Justice system is always off, so easy bankibg, crafting, etc with a bounty on your head.

The Rawl'kha Wayshrine is always a 100% safe port which then gives you a 100% safe access to the Outlaws Refuge to fence, launder, bank (but not guild bank), repair, and even make provisions. Clear your name and remove all heat while you're there. Can't afford to clear your name? Use the new counterfeit leniency edicts from Thieve's Groves, or go to two aforementioned zones.

No, he only provides access to your personal bank.

Ah, too bad. Regular bank is already easily available in the outlaw refuge. What I really need is guild bank and guild store access, currently only available in Coldharbour if you have a bounty.

Cyrodiil also has bankers with Guild Store access, if you're in that kind of a situation.

Unfortunately, no Guild Store access at the Cyrodiil banker, just guild bank.

Coldharbour is the only place in Tamriel with guild store access for criminals.

Wrong, Eversea has full bank access for criminals. I always thought it was a pity they never put guild store vendors you could bid for there.
