Wait i can use bol and blazing shield! Wow stamplar life is sweet!! O wait....... Continue to tell me about my deffensive advantages!!! And also explain to me how you counter someone who is invisiable and untargetable. Yes detec pots work if they dont recloak but other than that as a stamp who refuses to spam wrecking blow please please explain to me how im supposed to kill you. I get freakin wrecked by nbs but everyother class I can at least hold my own against. When a cloaked nb attacks me in the sewers i just set my controller down and go smoke a cigerette

Yea read up the posts a bit that how this conversation started. Im not saying that ive never ever killed a nightblade. Im saying they are at and offensive and deffensive advantage to my class when Im in the sewers. There are certain situation where I can kill nbs but when i get ganked in the middle of the sewers by one it usually 10/1 loss ratio in comparison to 50/50 when it happens with all other classes. Yes I hate gankers especially when ive been collecting telvar for an hour and you pop me in the middle of an add rotation and I cant even defend my self because I cant see you. This conversation started with me sayin to op "now you know what it feels like to fight like a real man." Which i stand by. Recloaking out of dots is unfair and allows you to get multiple attacks of on my 0 hard mit arse before I can even target u which is stupid and is the reason i stay out of the sewers these days.
If you don't know how to decloak a NB then you most definitely do not know how to play.Dark Cloak basically does the same its a purge .How is it not a fair fight it like saying it's not s fair fight because a Templar use breath of life or a sorc using shields its a class skill that you can't deal with so you complain instead of learn how to counter the easiest skill in the game to counter. So I stand by my point if you knew how to play you could deal with NB you state that you can't so case in point you don't know how to play. Its fine everyone has troubles with another class For example I have trouble with Sorcs but to say that your happy that a ability is broken because no you defeat a class goes to show that you sucks.AtraisMachina wrote: »No I have no problems with purging just the fact that its not a fair fight when i cant see you. Siege weapons, nightblade cripple and sorcerer dot.
I have some questions for clarification:
For siege weapons, are you getting hit by a several in quick succession or under fire from other sources (player AoE, keep guards)? Taking damage from a non-single-target attack or enemy with detection will break stealth.
Are you sure you were not marked (Nightblade skill) when brought out of stealth via damage? Piercing Mark allows the caster to see through stealth and invisibility, allowing single-target abilities to work. The nightblade could also have used Magelight, which is an anti-stealth ability. I would mention Flare, but that ability and its detection radius are rather obvious.
Was the "sorcerer dot" Velocious Curse? That is not a DoT but a delayed damage attack. Templar's Power of the Light is a similar ability, dealing damage after a delay. Delayed damage is not a damage over time effect so cloak will do nothing against it.

We were unable to reproduce any issues with player ability Damage over Time effects not being suppressed by Shadow Cloak. In our testing, both Dragonknight DoTs (Searing Strike and Burning Breath) as well as various other DoTs (such as Cripple) were properly being suppressed during invisibility. In the case of Daedric Curse, this is intended to break Shadow Cloak and should NOT be suppressed by it.
If you guys find any other Damage over Time effects that are not being properly suppressed by Shadow Cloak after this fix, please post any videos, logs, etc. and we will definitely take a second look. Thanks!

Then use one of many counters to cloak. You know, every aoe, detect pots, mag light, mark if you can, revealing flare etc. There are so many counters. Slot one. Especially in sewers where there is less space for them to get away.
The class was built for stealth. How dare it get utilized. Personally, i have played a stealthy boater 8n every yes game I played. I have always used the shadows and positioning to my advantage as well as hard hitting stealth openings. You think I am going to change how I prefer to play the game because people don't like the way I play? I think not. Just because I prefer to play from the shadows does not mean I need it to win. In fact, heavy reliance on it will get you killed quick. Any competent player can counter stealth. If you want to be the best you have to adapt to playing without cloak just as others have to adapt to countering cloak. Your refusal to slot one of the many counters is on you.
And yes of course a nb will kill you from stealth more so than other clases. That is the point! The class is geared toward stealth gameplay. The others are not. That said, a dk hits harder from stealth then a nb. Just a fun fact.

Your in a NB thread talking about how cloak is broken and you expect NB not to defend their class?Again I played with a Stamplar for a long time on Xbox and he has no Problems against NB.That's why I say its a Learn to play issue here and not a broken ability issue or class issue your trying to make this.Plus don't forget that Jabs are a AOE and a DOT not memtion spammable which mean using your main DPs ability will get a NB out of stealth your deciding not to use your abilities to counter NB.Its no one fault but yours so stop complaining about NB and slot the hundreds of counters.AtraisMachina wrote: »bowmanz607 wrote: »AtraisMachina wrote: »No I have no problems with purging just the fact that its not a fair fight when i cant see you. Cloak merely provides a false sense of security for NBs. Really, it should be considered a blanket.
And it is OP. Period. No other skill in the game procs a half dozen passives on a single activation constatnly throughout a fight like cloak can. That's the definition of overpowered, kiddo. It's not my fault they never took the time to git gud because they run around like their favorite streamers.
Seriously. This is my encounter with NBs 85% of the time:
Cloak->Ambush spam.
Did it kill them before they could react?
Yes? = Yippy.
No? = Cloak away like a fart in the wind.
If by half a dozen you mean 2, then yea. So, by your logic every skill in shadow skill line is OP, since any of them procs passives. Get your facts straight and L2P, kiddo.TheM0rganism wrote: »TheM0rganism wrote: »TheM0rganism wrote: »TheM0rganism wrote: »TheM0rganism wrote: »HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
*inhales*
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Good.
Can't wait for the inevitable "you're-going-to-lose-money-if-you-don't-acquiesce-to-our-completely-broken-OP-invis-mechanics-that-destroy-class-parity" comments.
Git gud and L2P, scrublades
It seems someone is happy with bad implementation...
"IT SEEMS SOMEONE IS HAPPY WITH BALANCE AND NBs BEING FORCED TO LEARN HOW TO FIGHT."
ftfy
Its more like bad implementation than intended mechanic (read Natch Potes to learn what changes were). Even with not working Cloak skill i can slot Purge - what a differnce?
P.S raging around isnt good for healthI think you're too specific in your comment, could you please generalize it a bit more to make it easier for us NBs who want to learn how to fight properly.TheM0rganism wrote: »"IT SEEMS SOMEONE IS HAPPY WITH BALANCE AND NBs BEING FORCED TO LEARN HOW TO FIGHT."
PS: Your CAPS LOCK key is stuck!
No amount of Flares, Magelights, or Caltrops can make up for the fact that you are the only class to benefit from a half-dozen passives due to a faux-disengage that can be proc'd multiple times a fight.
Why do you think NBs are the most over populated class? Because they are EZ-mode and require the least amount of skill to play.
lol hello again friend, glad to see you spreading your salt all over the forums today. why don't you take a break and go practice a bit, maybe you will reach the point were you don't get you face *** on every time you run into a nb.
I don't get killed by NBs. Like ever. They always cloak away after their Ambush fails to kill me while I'm fighting something else.
Aha, so you say NBs are OP easy mode class anyone can play, almost everyone plays it, but you never die to them, as a mater of fact they just bounce of you, right! So what are you some kind of superman, or you just want to say how gooooood you are, lol. No, probably you die to NBs all day long, and now you came here to gloat, since you cant L2P against something that has so many counters, i would feel ashamed to call OP skill.

TWO passives. Don't exaggerate in an attempt to reinforce your point. Other classes also have comparable synergies with their passives. Exept maybe *cough* StamSorc.
1. Invisibility
2. Purge
3. Bonus damage
4. Bonus armor
5. Increased stun duration
6. Ruffian [if dual wielding]
And this is me being conservative. God forbid you have concealed weapons slotted as well and you end up with Speed buff and Off-Balance procs that also incorporate Exploiter. Not to mention the Health bonuses. Sure any class can get similar amounts of benefits from an active-passive-synergy, but no one comes close to NBs that can take advantage of them MULTIPLE TIMES IN A FIGHT because of invis mechanics.
I don't even play NBs and I know more about them than you do. Embarrassing...
