I play magicka DK as a vampire , so the dark elf fits most in it with 5L / 1M / 1H for the heavy armour health regen passive and max health + undaunted passives
I really enjoy playing this combination

✭✭✭✭✭Dark ElfI really don't think this one is up for much debate. The only other race worth considering is Altemr. The 3% extra fire damage from Dunmers trumps the 4% extra magic from Altmers. All you do as a magic DK is fire damage, so the fire damage buff wins. The real thing you are giving up is the 9% regen from altmers, but sustain is just not that much of an issue. At most 9% regen amounts to like 80 extra magic recovery in PvE, and maybe 200 in PVP if you really stack regen.1 -

Um, Dunmer have 9% extra max magicka. It's split into two racial passives, though, granting 6% and 3%. So the max magicka advantage of Altmer is only 1%, not 4%.Nightfighters ― PC/NA and PC/EU

Oh_Skrivva✭✭✭Dark ElfI leveled 2 mag dks one high elf one dark elf. I use to like the high elf when fights use to be longer for sustain so I run the high elf for vIC and vWGT. But for short fights the dark elf beats out dps wise. Not by much cause Hugh elf gets 6% buff to all element damage oppose to the extra 8% damage buff of fire for dark elf. I normally run my high elf most of time cause I just hate the way dark elves look plus 30k single target dps is good enough. So what if I lose 1k ish dps.Costco member

GeertKarel✭✭✭Dark ElfI choose for dunmer/darkelf, they have the most damage output with fire abillities and dragon knight is mostly based on fire damage.
The dunmer works the best with a good healer that provides you with elemental drain, siphoning spirit and orbs.
Highelf is pretty good too almost as good as damage as a dunmer and it has 1% max magicka more and increases your magicka regeneration by a lot.Server: EU Pact

✭High ElfSo if we hone in on Ardent Flame and magicka bonuses here -
Dunmer = 7% more fire damage, 9% more max magicka.
Altmer = 4% more fire damage, 10% more max magicka, and 9% more magicka regeneration.
So I guess it depends, do you plan on using a lot of Ardent Flame and could use that bonus damage? Or do you want more sustain and max magicka (which also increases your spell damage)? Whether you're a DPS, Tank or Healer could alter which race is best too.
Most people I know go with Dunmer, but I have an Altmer Dragonknight so I'll have to vote that way. PC NA & EU || Mammoth Guilds - Victory or Valhalla || Altmer sorcerer main

Definitely best race when it comes to roaming around with 50k+ health in duo/trio, while spawning a bunch of Blood Altar, also, the only REAL way to run a mag DK.
