Some of these changes is going to have a serious impact on some guild activities. For example, our guild has dungeon runs every Saturday and we have a wide range of levels who participate. So if we have to, we try to mix experienced with non-experienced to make sure each group gets through. Granted, we can still do a random vet or normal dungeon, but without the group finder exploit where you could battle level a dungeon, doing the pledges with a wide range group is going to be much harder, especially now if you have to try and match the levels of each group. @ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_RichLambert, could you look into this and see if there is a solution?
Yes there are, and I take it you haven't read any of them because this:There are many recent threads that talk both of the Grouping Tool and the difficulty slider.
Simply isn't true.It all boils down to this:
The Grouping Tool is fine, it is working as intended.

This is actually one of the main reasons I've yet to touch the random dungeon tool. It sounds awesome in theory, but the problem is that there are basically three tiers of vet dungeons:Lieblingsjunge wrote: »Let's place 4 random people in ICP! Because ICP is so easy, right? Modify the dungeons so that they can only queue for the easy ones, idk?
So how do you propose ZOS can be able tell a good player from a bad one?

Don't get me wrong, it's a lot better now than it used to be, and I think more people should use it. But there are a lot of confirmed ways it's very definitely not working as intended.
It's not intended to put you in a group that's the wrong size for the activity you were queuing for. If you queue for a group dungeon you shouldn't put into a group of fewer than 4 or more than 4, and yet both of those things are happening sometimes.
It's not intended that a pre-formed group of 4 with the correct roles can't instantly get put into a dungeon when they queue for a random dungeon, and that they will instead have to wait in the queue for sometimes over 20 minutes.
It's not intended that when you start with a pre-formed (or partially pre-formed) group and queue for a random dungeon, on completion you sometimes will and sometimes won't get your random dungeon XP and rewards.
We don't know if it's intended that you can no longer scale a dungeon up to VR16 with a pre-formed group (hopefully it's not intended and will be fixed so we can get back to doing guild events the way we were doing them before Monday's update).
I think there are some other problems with the way the group finder is working right now, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind.
The bottom line is that it's a vast improvement over what we've had before - in many ways it's much much better, and I've enjoyed using it this week. Heck, the changes to it have gotten me to finally get off my rear and start doing some proper tanking on my VR16 Imperial DK (the character I planned long before launch specifically to be a tank), and finally do vet dungeons on him.
But it's not fine and working as intended: there are a number of significant bugs that need to be fixed before anyone can say that.

Granted, GT 2.0 has it's problems.
Those will be fixed.
People will still be grouped with randoms that have absolutely no damage, no gear and no knowledge of game mechanics.
Again, I'm not sure if you're aware of the changes to the group finder that came with the update on Monday but you can't scale your group up using it anymore unless you're queuing for a random dungeon. If there's a specific dungeon you want to do, you can no longer scale a pre-made group to VR16.
Hmm, I was referring to the second method. So if you form the group then queue for the specific dungeon you guys plan to do it works. This is great news! As long as the queue time bug gets fixed this is perfect. Thanks for the info @Yattaq!Again, I'm not sure if you're aware of the changes to the group finder that came with the update on Monday but you can't scale your group up using it anymore unless you're queuing for a random dungeon. I queued for a specific vet dungeon (the pledge) yesterday with 2 other v16s and a v3. We hit the 4 player long queue bug, but once it popped and we got inside the v3 said he was scaled up. Were you referring to specific queueing in that way, or the method people used last patched where you'd queue for a second and leave the queue to get the group scaled?

I'm cool with that. When I use the group finder tool to get paired with random folks I always ask before we get started if anyone is doing the dungeon for the first time, because if they are I'm happy to go at their pace rather than my own.everybody wants to run at their own pace though...

I did vet Elden Hollow via the grouping tool last week when it was the day's pledge. I was tanking on a character who I haven't yet done a lot of tanking with, and who I've only done 2 or 3 vet dungeons with. One of the other people I got grouped with had clearly done the dungeon before and knew the fights, but the others hadn't. I think we were 2 VR16s and the others were in the VR3-6 range.failkiwib16_ESO wrote: »@Lieblingsjunge I didn't use the grouping tool for that nDSA run though, but I would have probably been better off if we had done that -.- but it wasn't possible at the time, to use it for DSA, and I don't remember if that has changed with the new patch or not >.<
Regardless, I'm looking forward to do veteran Elden Hollow via the grouping tool. It will be entertaining ...
If I'm not the last survivor, when Bogdan dies - it's a great run. If I'm the last survivor when Bogdan dies, I'll become the hero of 3 noobs and I get to repentance them along with Bogdan

In 1.6 patch I experienced to be in a v14 group that was stuck at endboss there. They had spent 2 hours at Bogdan and when I got to replace their healer, we spent further an hour there. I tried everything from explaining mechanics, tell them to stand at exact places, where they should move in case of fire, what skills to use etc. but it just didn't work, and I had to constantly spam heals, so I couldn't do any damage either. Finelly 1 hour later the 2 DD's were convinced to scale the dungeon down and redo the whole thing v1 scaled. This time the whole dungeon run took us 40min, which was "fast" for that group.

Yeah my experience with a PUG doing vet Elden Hollow last week lasted probably just over half an hour, so it went pretty well IMO.

+++++POST-THIEVES' GUILD UPDATE TO GROUPING-TOOL+++++
- Premade groups does now get the rewards. But queue-times are NOT fixed.
So. The new grouping-tool has heaps of potential and it's a lot more rewarding than the old one, yey! But. There is(imo) some things that needs a fix. Or at least some thought.
1) Group-Finder's way of putting groups together. (No, I'm not talking about that it's hard to find tanks..!). I queued up for a random veteran dungeon on my V16 templar as healer. Got a group almost instantly, but the group was.... just.. depressing. The first time I queued up - I ended up healing, aggroing the boss & dealing the most damage to it.(It was Fungal Grotto, so it was easy but nevertheless). And honestly - I hated it. How is it in any way fair that I have to do all 3 roles, when I actually just queued up as a healer?! I understand ZoS' intention of helping the newbies complete dungeons and find groups.. but this is SO NOT the way to do it! It just feels really unfair on us that actually got V16 gear and has somewhat worked out a rotation that "works". + I consider myself a very patient person, usually. But if one of these newbies run into one of the aggressive-salty-players that seem to exist, I just feel really really sorry for them. Most likely the newbies will get flamed for not knowing what they're doing, and that will NOT be a good experience!
I dunno. Can't you make some sort of requirements? I've done vwgt no-death run, and I kinda dont wanna be stuck in a normal dungeon for 45 minutes just cus the group is horrible. When I play this game - I play to enjoy it. To play with friends. I do NOT play this game to waste 45minutes in one dungeon that takes 5-10.
2) Inside the dungeon & communication. The second time I queued up, I ended up in a group with two people, two nightblades. They did not know what they were doing - and I DID try to tell them what to do. But they didn't even respond. I'm not sure if they actually understood english at all, or, if they simply didn't read the chat. But. In which world is it possible to give somenoe advice and help them - if they can't even communicate. No, I'm not under any circumstances saying that everyone should know english - but still. Sort something out, because newbies will not be able to learn anything if they can't communicate!
3) Queueing up as all roles. Can we please get a solution to this? Happened in the same group as described on 2). One of the Nightblades queued up as all roles. zzzzzz. That seem to break the group-finder, as we never got a 4th person.
4) Getting two dungeons at once - can I clone myself? Anyway. With the same group as on 2) and 3). We got past the first Keeper in BC and the Clannfear. While I was killing the mobs in the hallway towards the next boss, I'm getting a notification from group-finding tool: "You are entering Elden Hollow as Healer in xx seconds"(Or something like it). Wat the actual? I'm already inside BC - finished some bosses, and I get prompted to a new dungeon?(Yes, I did get forced to teleport there..).
5) Queueing up as premade for Random Veteran Dungeon. I might just be blind - or stupid. But I haven't found a way to queue up as premade. Which is really sad, since. Well. I play this game mostly cus of all the awesome people in my FL and in my guilds. I understand that queueing up as premade kinda ruins the intention of the grouping-tool, but meh. At least let us queue as 3? That way the one random(that might be a newbie) that we find through Group-Finder, can at least complete the dungeon. Cus asI see now - all the random people I have met in the random queue - is by no means able to complete the dungeon. (Let's place 4 random people in ICP! Because ICP is so easy, right? Modify the dungeons so that they can only queue for the easy ones, idk?). If we could queue up as 3, that 4th person has the ability to learn the dungeon, complete it, and if it's one of these nice randoms, he/she might even ask questions to learn something!!! And queueing up as 3 also helps us V16-geared ones not waste 45 mins in a dungeon that takes us 5-10 mins.
6) Scaling. I can't play with my friends anymore! So. I'm a V2 Nightblade. I wanna queue up with my V16 friends. Earlier you could scale up(by exploiting a bug.. but.. still.. you could at least play with friends then!). Now there is basically two options, 1) Scale down to V2. All gear-drops is also scaled to V2. Helmet anyone?! 2) Scale it to V16 and let the V2 person die and die and die and die and die...... Can we just get some sort of scaling again, pls?I just want to play with my friends without being the same level as them!
+++++EDIT+++++
7) When you finally get a queue as a premade, rewards don't come through. ZoS might have a fix for this soon!:)
Note 1) Newbies in this post is a term used to describe people without lever-relevant gear & without any idea how to taunt the boss or deal damage. So it's not necessarily meant as a negative term, we all start somewhere!
Note 2) No, I am by no means considering myself good/better than xxx at this game. I'm just an average healing scrub trying to enjoy the game.
Note 3) I am presenting problems - I do not have the solutions to all of them.
Note 4) I am not fluent in english, grammar mistakes and horribly crafted sentences will occur. You are hereby warned and I apologise in advance!
Note 5) It is a wall-of-text. Read it, or don't. At the moment no TL;DR exist, but I might write one, soontm.
To you people who read this post - Write your comments!! This is just my opinions and my observations. If you got anything else to add, write it. If you don't like what I've written, write that, too!
