Do you make your toons the same gender as yourself?

Example: I am a man and I play male characters.

I just can't get into playing a female.. But, I know a lot of guys who play girls.

Nope.

Half male & half female..... Originally I was going to have a male/female of each class & one was going to be stam the other magicka.

Weirdly it turned out that I saw both my sorcs as male, and both the DK's as female. No idea why.

Yes, I play my gender.

When I'm playing games where my character is "representing" me in terms of what other people see, I feel most comfortable playing a character of the same gender. It's more of a "what you see is what you get" type of thing.

its also the reason why all my guys have some sort of facial hair cuz I have facial hair and it makes me feel one with them

I play a mix of genders; my characters don't represent me, they are each their own person, so it doesn't feel strange to me at all.

And it is also the same to me in this case. I somehow seem to base my characters on how I look, but trying to slightly get out of that cycle.

Nope.

I suspect that in most cases the central issue is whether you see your toon as a version of yourself, or as a character in an interactive story. For me it's the latter and since I like stories about female and male characters, I play both.

I also typically play in 3rd person so I see the character taking actions.

Usually. Depends on who I'm playing though. A Nord 2 hander should be male to me. An Altmer Sorcerer should be female to me. And so forth.

Nope.

It's easier to make characters cute if they're female, especially Khajiit. Of my 24 (Yes, 24. Twentyfour) characters, only one is male.

The only reason my main (dunmer dk) didnt look like me is because i nerded out and made him look like a traditional dunmer with dark skin and red eyes
