But he is talking about the first boss. While he has some kind of armor debuff mechanic, it definitely does not go to 0 (at least for my intuition). If it does, then well, I haven't noticed.

That is why I say that you may not have been blocking, but if you are certain that you did not drop block for some reason, and that can happen, then I think that you are experiencing unusually high damage due to a game error. Maybe the server connection is causing you to take multiple hits at the same time.

What i wonder, could the Shatter behave differently between magicka nightblade with Armour Master vs. DK with DK mitigation plus Footman mitigation? We had two tanks, the other was DK, and didn't receive those big hits.

You're both on. I've already designed a whole new tactic. Want a clue: slow and steady wins the race :P too slow and you'll die, too fast and you'll run into other problems...neither the hare or the rabbit wins this race.

I'm under the impression this occurs for the first boss too. The Shattered debuff actually works differently from the 2H adds on trash to the first boss and last boss, but amounts to the same if you aren't careful in how you deal with it.
EDIT: we're actually not sure if ZOS intended the Shattered debuff to work differently on adds versus the boss, so this may be a bug? I'll check with ZOS next time we catch them in TS.

Buff the first boss please. The DPS requirement to finish it is too low imo
