Vessel Of The Auditor...

Ok I am able to solo this public dungeon pretty well, killed all the boss's solo no problem....

Now this Vessel Of The Auditor is a boss on the main public dungeon quest....who one shots you no matter what defenses you have up, shields, heals, runes doesn't matter, he will always one shot you....

If you dodge or avoid his attacks, he suddenly spins round like he is autolocked on you and kills you in one shot, when he was facing the other directing when he begins cone attack or charged attack...you avoid...boom one shot anyway.....you have shields up boom one shot anyway....you have huge resists up....boom one shot anyway?

Has anyone done this boss? Is there something I am missing here? He only has 2 attacks.....no normal ones, just one shot attacks...the boss seems really buggy like he is auto locked on to you no matter where you move, you could be away from him and still be hit by his physical attack, you can dodge and still die, you can move out of the way and he suddenly turns during attack animation and hits you anyway....

Is boss bugged and on crack? This damage from the boss with a shield up, full health, high resists and heals....still one shots for 20-30k...he only has these 2 attacks and they both happen at same time even when only one animation is showing..

To be fair, you would expect decapitation to kill you in one hit

wow. I killed him before he even got close to me so I never saw his damage. ouch lol

Well time for you to burst him down then I guess. or get one of ur friends to donate his soul to the machine while u take him out

lol 10 mins later and I killed him solo

Pain in the butt this boss was, used elusive mist / mist form to keep away from him, then every one run around the room, hit radiant destruction, then quickly elusive mist across the room. Repeat for 10 mins...

You basically can not go near this boss and he chases you with speed so you have to run and attack with range constantly....you can't really get close and burst him down..

Not solo anyway. If anyone gets close, boom one shot dead.

Won't spoil it but the npc you talk to and choice you get after boss is pretty cool

If something can 1 shot you when up close, but with a bit of thought can be soloed in 10 minutes, that is good, it does not mean it needs nerfing. It just means people need to appraise their tactics when engaging with it.

magicka templar. kited him for several minutes, whittling down his health with ranged attacks and periodically using explosive charge/weave/jab/dodge.

good fight.

I never said anything about nerfing anything....the animations seemed buggy and auto locked on by boss and also when he charged his attacks and you move, the boss would turn mid animation instantly and still hit you.

Just seemed buggy.

He's real simple. Kite him around if you're solo, avoid his attacks and range him. Easy.

Even when kiting the animation would bug out or boss would still hit you even though was out of range.

Like I said seemed buggy to me. Your right though kiting and ranged damage is the only way to do it.

When I saw the title I was expecting you to be the one one-shotting it, he was really easy, no problem what so ever.

mines bugged and he can hit me from range and im trying to do it on my lvl 20 nightblade solo....

Avoid the red cone by kiting, block the other attack.

The fight is very much soloable.

Solo'd him on my MagDK. Had to kite him around the pedastal at the top some; line-of-sight kept him from one-shotting me.

Haven't tried on my other toons but can only imagine it would have been easier on most my others

I soloed this boss on my stam sorc... It took me about 10 tries. I finally totally changed my skills around and used the clannfear and atronach to tank the boss while I spammed crit rush and streak.

I found that for me not only would a simple block stop the attack but it would also stun him for a bit after you blocked it.

They must of changed it. Blocking did nothing when I did it and as I said before, animations were buggy, also while out of range of the boss attacks they would still hit you sometimes....or if he was facing away from you and you went behind him, would auto lock swing around and still one hit you. Both attacks would also hit with one animation or sometimes no animation.

It's an old topic so im guessing it was when the content first came out and was buggy. Very easy now.

don't min max? block? use more defensive abilty's all things that help you not get oneshotted....
seen in a post behind it you used mist form so you already did that ;P

I killed him with no problem,though it wasnt quick.Use a bow,range long shots at him,and keep rolling out of his way,chipping bits od his life as you go.I'm an NB and did him in.It took a bit of time,but got him.Get him to chase you around as well.It seemed to steal a little life from him as he got tired.I ran round and round,I kept hitting him hard with bow shots till he went down.

Yeah, he got me the first time I did this quest (I was on my NB).
The other times were ok, as I knew not to let him close to me.

This may not be a fight where you want shields, since if he goes through the shields, the rest of the damage ignores your resistances.

I don't disagree with this. There ain't no telling how many times he lopped off the head when I first tried this. It was just in the last week or two I decided to give it another go. I honestly can't remember if I tried to range him the first time and couldn't do it or if blocks didn't work then.

Yeah, if you just stand in the red or take the decapitation strike without blocking, the fight is over pretty quick-like. But the hammer is dodge/kite evade-able, and the decapitation can be blocked. Then its a simple endurance fight and no real trouble...

As others have written the decapitation strike is blockabke and the boss a very distinctive tell when he channels it.
