Skill reset with Live Release

With all the major changes to a lot of the skills, altering play style and choices please do consider giving us a free skill reset. And Champion Point reset as well. I feel the changes in morphs and basic skills at least warrant a respec, and would probably mean that a lot of players would read the new tooltips and see that there are indeed big changes happening

A skill reset is not enough.
After these massive changes,
a class reset is in order.

The latest PVE content and PvP require:
- speed
- mobility
- dps
- shields or cloaks
- healing
- ultimates to decide a PvP 1v1 fight

Templars finally offer nothing of this anymore:
- low speed (as before)
- zero mobility (now due to mandatory focus or reduced resources and healing)
- low dps (as before)
- crap shields (in PvP, as before)
- most expensive healing of the entire game, now even with nerfed results
- no ultimates to decide a PvP 1v1 fight (as before)

The Templar class is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE ANYMORE.
Sorcs now have everything the game requires, Templars have nothing.
Sorcs eat Templars as a starter. The balance has deteriorated once again.

We definitely need a CP reset with the major changes coming to the Constellations. For people that have ALTS, this could get quite expensive- especially if there is no skill reset, which players would then have to pay for as well.

More people will complain with a skill reset than if they just leave it alone. It caused quite a stir last time they reset points. This is because many people who do not read the forums are caught unaware that this will happen and do not take screen shots so they can remember the details of their builds.

Until they can implement a system where we can reset our own points for free, when we want to, if we want to, I would prefer it if they just let me reset my own points as needed.

I have plenty of time to collect the necessary gold to reset both skill and champion points, if I want to.

Maybe they can offer a 1 time use free respec in the crown store? Or send it out in a mail through a special hireling. With all of the changes I don't want to have to waste over 100k gold redoing all of my chars CP, Skills and Attributes.

Please avoid hijacking the thread with class changes etc. This isn't about that subject.

A free reset might alert the players that do not know the amount of changes that are happening to the game. Thus if they have to look at the skills again and check their new tooltips it might save cries of nerfing and complaints further down the line

Agreed. They should give a free skills and CP reset on launch. Theres too many changes that will likely hit live that will necessitate a respec.

They have said that any reset would have to be done as with previous resets, that they do not have the capability to do otherwise. It is phrased such that they would like to do it, but whatever work that requires is not done (and may not even have been started)

Skill and CP resets are possible. We know this because zos has done it before.

zos announced no future resets following complaints the last time this was done. However, since then telephone support has been eliminated. Any complaints now will be from email and /feedback.This alone seems likely to reduce the number of complaints. Most complaints I saw came from players revisiting the game with new content release, surprised their old characters were no longer intact, or from players who were not paying attention to upcoming changes. I don't see any reason the email zos is sure to send announcing TG release cannot contain a notice of skill and CP reset. Why should players with passing interest, attracted only by the release of new content, get to determine that there will be no reset, instead of the players who log in regularly and follow the changes that will be coming. I have no objection to paying for resets when I am adjusting my characters. I do object to paying for resets required by changes to the game, especially if the main reason is for zos to avoid complaints from players with the unrealistic expectation they can log into new content and find everything is the same as before.

There already is a way..

I already suggested this in the other thread. Just mail a skill respecification scroll to all the players and let them decide if they want to use it or not.

At the very least, a free CP reset is needed.

And we know they have this system in place already because they forced a CP reset on all players over 501 CP when Orsinium launched.

All this is the reason why I started new Templar a while ago to pvp with.
