Limiting gear to DLC is pay to win. The only benefit players should get from DLC is access to new areas/dungeons. THAT'S fair. Everyone should be on a level playing field...Besides, grinding AP is MUCHHHH harder (if your're bad) than doing those lame dungeons no one cares about.
bull *** ***.. i have done vwgt 100 times at least. ive gotten 1 shoulder and that was from my gold key. i accidentally decon my shoulder, now i hav nothing. so all that time and struggles learning vwgt, and now its just purchasable? wtf

I am a pve player and yes it does affect me. Becasue now all those pvp ppl wont be even looking in group finder anymore. So much means even less players to choose from. Which will mean even worst experience when using group finder.
Ask all your pvp friends, if they will be doing any dungeons after the patch? They will say no the only reason I did dungeons was to try for the helm but now I can get the helm here so I might as well farm for ap.
Just like it's horrible to have PVE players in PVP, it's likewise bad to have PVP players in PVE, when you're not doing what you enjoy to do, you put no effort into it. I can't even count the number of times I've heard "I'm just here for vigor/proxy det" and had someone not listening to crown, standing around getting killed and hardly contributing.
Also, it's not like the vendor is just going to have an inventory of ALL the sets, and the pieces are expensive enough that anyone who hasn't been PVPing, probably doesnt have enough AP to buy them, thus making the RNG grind a viable option.rozwellite wrote: »Also think about how it will affect pvp. Playing in a dungeon and playing out int he field is vastly different and require 2 separate skill sets. Any "newbie" with enough gold or AP to buy the set so they can PVP in that gear is ok in my book, my guildmates would be more than happy to show them the ropes and guide them into being great PVP players, but we can't do that with a PVE player whos in PVP for the skill line, and plans to leave afterwards. Theres still the whole undaunted skill line, who's passives are still highly valued by players, I don't see you having trouble finding a group anytime soon. I mean, did you stop PVEing when you got your set?
200k isn't alot... should have been 5 to 10 times more
I knew someone was going to say it wasn't a lot. It's a lot for anyone new just getting into PVP, or anyone not in a PVP guild, or casual PVP players. Veteran PVP players who have had nothing to spend AP on for a while certainly have PLENTY to spend, but I personally feel 200k is a fine hurdle, it's a few days worth of work if you're starting fresh and do nothing but PVP, a month's worth if you're casual, and people like me who have held onto their AP and more-or-less have refused to do the PVE necessary, can now buy them when they appear.

I agree with the OP. What is the point to paying a subscription fee when the players who are too lazy to earn the items themselves are just handed it pretty much? Saying "I have a job, so I don't have time" is just a poor excuse. Boo hoo for you then. Seriously, I don't have time to play this everyday too, but why should I just be handed something that other people worked hard to obtain? I find it extremely sad that we're to the point where games are catered more towards the people who aren't willing to put in the time over the ones who actually make time for it.

You know whats not fair? You had the opportunity to get this gear by grinding before I had the opportunity to purchase it.
I had to grind out something called a 'job' in 'real life' to get the 'experience' I need to 'purchase' this goods.
So not fair, I wish I could spend the hours grinding away to get the gear you have, but I guess I will take the opportunity to you know, eat and things, instead.
Not fair is you have the hours available to grind out the hundreds and hundreds of hours needed to get some piece of gear while I have to work all day.

If only you studied something useful instead of philosophy!!! Orhow to tie shoes 101You know what's not fair? Going to college and making less money than before you went. Now, you just have a nice chunk of change to pay back the government for your efforts.

Take a sick day to get paid to farm!
Your post actually made little sense because if you are working for food then spending the money in the crown store is futile. LOL.
I do understand where you are coming from though. I work 50 hours a week and have a wife and two kids so playing time is limited to a couple hours a day at best.

So... what is your issue? You've been PVPing long enough to get rank 5, which according to the new updates if you're halfway through, you'll have it maxed. Since you've been playing since a month after release, I imagine you WOULD have at least 200k AP to spend on a monster set.. it'd be weird if you didnt (and had a rank 5 assault). Are you FOR the side that monster sets shouldn't be purchaseable? Im failing to see your point as to why you think it should cost more. 200k AP is a decent enough price point where it's accessible to everyone who's been here a while, while still being attainable for a brand new player eventually but not immediately.catalyst10e wrote: »catalyst10e wrote: »rozwellite wrote: »catalyst10e wrote: »Are you a PVE player? well that's RNG i would agree there are also those who claim to have it done 100+ time. although i don't beleave that number it will be a good amount of tries. so you have to look at RNG from both ways. not just the way it pleases you
I had to spend weeks and weeks of farming for me Kena helm.
i wouldn't change a THING, that is how games are SUPPOSED to be, you EARN your ***.
Thats RNG, thats what makes it feel so good when you finally get it, thats what makes the game worth playing, I had to do WGT at least 30 times before my helm...and thats what got me playing the content.....

I'm not sure if that's true.
