On PS4 launch, PvP was perfectly acceptable.
Then, with each patch, the lag got worse.

Today, the lag is insane:

- certain skills often do not work at all

In the current terrible state on consoles, in Cyro PvP
only the combo DPS + one-button-mashing survives.
Skilled group fights, depending on single button presses, already are dead.

Last night on xbox there was a three way fight and It honestly felt like I was in a flip book. It was insane.

When lag get's that bad. You have to just quit. There is no point trying to play. Weapon swap takes at least 3 seconds. At least.

Sounds like you guys have finally caught up to us on PC lol.

Go play something else, if this is what you want, you don't appreciate Tamriel. For you it is just another map to do your fighting in. But this is Cyrrodil, a province we know since long and have played in TES IV:Oblivion. It has to have a certain look and atmosphere to be this Cyrrodil, otherwise it would just be a pointless territory - you PvP people are really pissing me off sometimes, with your ignorance about the TES world and your focus on fighting each other by no better reason than fighting. You are in the wrong game, if that is what you wish - ESO is about Tamriel foremost, the beauty of its landscape, it's atmosphere and lore. That is why most of us are playing ESO and not any other pointless fantasy MMO.

I'm really surprised that people actually agree with what OP said. Go play another game if you think ESO sucks. Annoying full caps messages have literally zero influence on the game.

Seems like OP received a small loan of a few extra chromosomes when he was born...

ESO currently thrives because of the incoming flow of new players. This is great.
However, on the other side the rate of leaving players is rising. This is alarming.

Yes, OP's well-constructed and thought out message is definitely going to fix the problem. I do agree that the lag needs to be fixed, no-one can deny that, but there have been so many of the same threads with the same old useless ranting and whining. I'm pretty sure that zenimax gets it by now, but they just don't have the solution yet.

You know, it has been said a lot of times that ESO is gonna die because of the lag issue. Nothing happened so far, except for a lot of veteran players leaving. However, this year ESO got some major competition coming along the way, which is why I believe the PvP community will be close to non existent shouldn't the lag be solved by the time the other games are released. But well. We will see about that I guess.

I think the problem with it is, that there is no proper technical solution yet. They basically have 2 choices to "fix" that

1. - return to the hack-prone client-server architecture they had before - this would cause the return of bots and as well bots, which auto-fight - so this is not the way to go.

2. - change player behavior by changing skills and how they work in a way, that would force players to stay away from zergs, because those are what makes the lag that horrible. And this is critical as well, because it will cause new whining threads and people threaten to leave the game.

So regardless what they choose, it will be a mess for some time and not necessarily benefit the game. Especially not in a commercial sense, where PvP makes just a small part of the incoming coin - while PvE and casual bring in the most coin. So certainly their focus is on that and will be for a longer time to come. They will do what is technically possible to fix the lag, but this is not really a technical problem to be solved, player behavior has to be changed, and that is pretty hard to do.

There is no problem with most of the game, it is just a matter in the PvP zones and the reason for that it is a problem is IMO player behavior - so they have a hard time to "fix" this. The problem will solve itself though, if they just wait for long enough for the whiners to leave the game and with less hardcore PvPers in the game, the lag issue will be gone. Simple solution.
