Wishes for 2016 - My 5 Wishes for the future

Greetings everyone,

Various websites and bloggers have shared their wishes list for 2016, here is mine.
I restricted myself to 5 wishes only, so this is my top list. I'm happy to have heard @ZOS_MattFiror suggesting than my first wish was something they are actually working on! (as he stayed relatively vague, I do not take this as granted however)
  • 1 Downscaling (or Mentoring, Battleleveling...)
  • 2 Difficulty slider
  • 3 Dungeon tokens
  • 4 Cyrodiil RP server
  • 5 Khajiit DLC

    Well here is mine ._.

    1. Crafting Research Scrolls - learning all 9 traits for everything takes about a year.

    2. Crown pets interactives - such as they locate nearby resource nods or they do some affect during battle.

    3. Necromancer Class - I want to animate corpses to fight for me and other stuff.

    4. More Goblin costumes- Yes I play as a goblin.

    5. Grab and Tackle... I just want to catch other players by surprise and pin them to the ground.

    Things my friends want...

    1. Flying mounts - Not sure how that work unless it just animation but not truly flying.

    2. Guild Capes or Banners - cape wise if it half a tabard that fine.

    3. 1v1 dueling... Something or somewhere that people on same alliance can test skill against each other.

    4. Guild Bank limitation- able to set W/D per day for specific ranks

    5. Ingame caches purge- whenever animations/effects stop appearing in PvP, this option can fix it... Essentially like reload the map and stuff. Can only be used out of combat...

    I think that downscaling is the way to go to replace Cadwell Silver and Gold with more inclusive social friendly content.

    The Cadwell zones separate the players and, as many have noted, tend to be lightly populated compared to the base leveling zones. What is really needed is a way to do Cadwell and have the Cadwell characters playing right along side the level 1-49 characters, and other alliance natives, that would be in the same zone.

    Rather than creating a level 50 zone like Wrothgar and leveling everyone UP to that zone level, have each zone retain the native level range that it currently has and downscale the Cadwell players to somewhere in that level range. This would apply to the base leveling zones, like Stonefalls, Glenumbra, Auridon, etc.

    Everyone would be all together. The Cadwell character would be experiencing the actual Alliance, not a copy of it. Characters from any alliance could group and socialize because they are in the same place at the same time.

    One key point that I fear with anything like this is resource leveling. When I go to Wrothgar, I get crafting nodes appropriate to my skills. That is fine for Wrothgar, but when I go to Stonefalls for crafting materials, I want iron and jute. I don't really want the same resources available everywhere I go. It is nice that I have to go to the place that has the resource that I want because this way I get to pick what I am getting. Otherwise it feels very artificial, which is something I experience in Wrothgar. In the downscaled zones, keep the crafting resources nodes so that the native resources are still available, no matter what skill points the character has. The Cadwell resources can be blended in, much like how Level 9 and Level 10 resources are mixed together in Wrothgar, if this becomes a gameplay issue. Otherwise, just move around resources so that the Cadwell level resources are still available from somewhere.

    I gave you an "insightful" for this video, Elloa. I think you made very good points for your wishes and I hope they will be implemented in one way or the other. I am not certain, if I understood your concept of an RP server for Cyrrodil though. The only difference to normal Cyrrodil would be that there are no AP to earn and no special mats to acquire?- Is that correct?

    As far as flying "mounts" go, I found the concept of gliders in Archeage very good - not just as a "mount", but it gives as well new ways to use them in combat. And it is just beautiful to glide down from a mountain and look at the landscape from above. This is quite entertaining and relaxing as well.

    Dungeon tokens and Khajiit DLC? Yes! Would love to see a lot more of Elsweyr, if it wasn't currently mostly in the grip of the Knahaten Flu.

    Exactly, I would see this as tuning the PVE scaling, like for Wrothgar, to make it a little easier or a little harder than the default.

    It's far simpler - if someone is choosing easy, he will internally be upscaled by 3-5 levels - if he wants it more difficult he will be downscaled by 3-5 levels - that would be my idea of it and because I said it is not that much different from scaling. IN regards to a group he will be considered to be of his actual level. The group reward can be scaled after the level difference the group has in total in comparison to their actual level.

    2. 1 hand, no shield, skill line. It would have low defense but great mobility. Flips and such?
    3. Lock items in inventory.

    You're forgetting about all the other players around you. What if they were on different difficulty levels? Whet if they were attacking the same mob or bad guy or world boss?

    No, I am not forgetting them, I stated, that the group reward should be scaled after how much the whole group common level is offset from the default group level. like if 7 players are scaled down by 3 (harder) and 5 players scaled up by 5 (very easy) the group in a whole is 25-21=4 scaled up and the reward has to be scaled down accordingly to this.

    The group effort is seen as a whole with this - and all get the same reward regardless what they have personally chosen.

    I 100% agree on the Khajiit dlc.
    Here's my top 5:
    1.Lore heavy DLC. A good story that I can truly say is an Elder Scrolls story.
    2.More solo friendly activities that are replayable.
    3. More better looking motifs. Kinda tired of the crown store getting all the good looking armor.
    4. Housing. Like hearthfire where we're the directors of the building expierence. Not just " Oh look, I bought a good looking fireplace for 5$."

    - grouping with guild members in different alliances for dungeons and trials (being able to select them specifically)
    - Murkmire DLC
    - significant performance boost in Cyrodiil
    - moving flags for Cyrodiil
    - mentor system for group dungeons

    1. Shields, or off-hand wepons, can't have enchantments - so 1/h+Shield/Dual-wield isn't so OP
    2. Craftable jewelry, or AT LEAST the ability to upgrade jewelry similar to armour (i.e. green-blue-purple-gold)
    3. A 100% GUARANTEE that there will ne NO flying mounts added to the game EVER
    4. A 100% GUARANTEE that there will be NO dragons added to the game EVER apart from a cutscene or similar.
    5. A 100% GUARANTEE that one will NEVER be given the ability to 'cherry-pick' racial passives.

    1) New Racials for Argonian's
    2) Housing (and not just a hut to dump stuff in)
    3) Balancing I PvP where spamming wrecking blow, bat swarm and steel tornado are not the only way to play
    4) Making sorc pets worth having in end game / PvP
    5) More end game content for solo players - Mages guild/fighters guild quests ranks and titles.

    1. Make changes to cyrodil/keeps capture points as everything is pretty identical in layout & features gets boring, surely that could have had alot more variation in the layouts & surrounding environment.

    2. Housing which is coming I hear.

    3. The ability to progress into a opp alliance zone for pvp once you have pushed the fight back to the cyrodil gates of each alliance say for EP once you reach the gates there could be a new pvp skyrim zone that you could bring the fight too........long shot this idea I know.

    4. Hard world bosses that spawn rarely.
    5. Bring players back into the game.

    Hey guys!!
    Regarding the difficulty slider, I was thinking about instanced content, such as the Main Story, Fighter Guild Story, Mage Guild Story, 4man delves in Craglorn, and all Dungeons.
    For open content, might be a bit too huge to implement without leaving some nasty bugs, mess up the phasing etc...

    Fix the lag in Cyrodiil. It's a game ender for me, I want to PvP and I can't believe the amount of lag there is considering how few people there are. I thought lag was occasionally bad in DAOC but to get to the levels I've seen in Cyrodiil you'd need 500+ people in a keep. I find it odd that it's something that just seems to get worse with every new game I play(Warhammer was bad in end game, AOC was unplayable at times), maybe they need to do away with all the fancy graphics, aesthetics don't make games good.

    Fix skills that don't work.

    Fix all the other bugs, like constantly losing the ability to do anything but move. I thought it was just me at first but lots of others have said in zone that they suffer the same thing.

    Shorten the later research time in crafting, otherwise crafting is pretty easy, just don't feel like waiting a year if I need a 9 trait set.

    It's not a bad game but I'd never sub the way it is now.

    Oh yeah, allow us to use titles from achievements, I really want to be a Poultry Assassin.

    Graphics are not the issue, because those are performed client-side. On server-side that is just a bunch of IDs sent, which tell the client what to render, all the data required to render the content is already locally on the client machine (because this is not user created content and does not have to be downloaded but is present in files on the client machine).

    If you could make it harder then yeah, as it is the games pretty freaking easy as far as the main quests and levelling goes. It's almost like being in god mode. After two months of playing I have 2 V11's, a V2 and V3 and have yet seen the need to be in a group. Harder games make better games and promote a community since you need others to help you advance.

    If you were to make the group dungeons easier then you would have to lessen the reward or there's no point at all in having it.

    1. I don't like downscaling. I'd prefer upscaling, like Wrothgar works right now.
    2. From my experience with difficulty sliders in MMOs, there's usually never a reason to chose anything but the hardest option. I think they already have a good system in place right now with silver and gold Undaunted dailies, and the rest of the game should be easy enough. I'm not against it per se, but I wouldn't use it.
    3. Frankly I don't like token systems, because I don't like bound items in general. I prefer RNG + free trade.
    4. Shouldn't be too difficult, but I don't see a lot of demand. Thankfully we'll get the Gold Coast soon, so at least part of Cyrodiil should open up for RP =)
    5. Only if it's really weird!
