I'm definitely looking forward to having Divines participate in a GvG event in the near future. I got some matters to settle (I'm sure the majority know what guild I'm talking about). Unfortunately, I haven't been on the past week or so because my internet went dead on me and only yesterday I got it back up. The semester is starting up again soon and just like last semester I'll be working full time and in school full time so I'm not sure if time will permit me to participate. I, as the GM of Divines, this winter break barely ran groups simply because I've been working a lot. With the amount of time Divines ran groups in this update is not enough to be confident. Like I said in the past forum, Divines aren't ready yet and when we will be I'll definitely let the host know.

Work together to dethrone any emps and redistribute scrolls beforehand. With all the meaningful guilds working together, you can really mold any map to your liking. I expect this event will take place on Trueflame to avoid lag and for convenience porting.

Also, you guys and gals let me know if you want me to record these fights from a 3rd party angle. I'm the OG speedy invisible guy.

I will have to speak to the guilds involved to see if everyone's comfortable with this. I myself have no real problem with it but I wanna clear it with everyone first. Everyone's so intent on recording and stuff it seems, for me it's more about the actual fights and having fun than it is about recording it for the eso world to see. But I'll go with whatever the general consensus is here. Will get back to you.

Event will start at 9pm EST - Server and Location will set in stone for certain tomorrow but most likely True Flame provided there is no emp / Ash & Brindle lock. Audience are welcome.

Why do you act like there's some onus on VE to do GvGs? From a mature perspective, there's nothing wrong with either choosing to partake or not partake, there are many ways for players to spend their time in ESO. None of us are in here denigrating the GvG.

You know how everyone laughs at kiddies that pm you this wanting 1v1s?

I'm not saying that the hosted GvG is 'silly' like that, but it's the same principle: you don't feel compelled to take the guy up on his 1v1 by virtue of him insisting on it, you either feel like it or you don't - and it's none of anyone else's business.

Yet here you are basically painting VE as cowards, as you put it, 'trying to avoid the challenge'. I wasn't aware that we live in the 1800's and are compelled by social standards to protect our manhood by partaking in GvG 'duels'. If you want my personal opinion, organized GvGs become boring in the same way as all the dueling in Legends became boring; it all devolves into running the proper counter build to your opponent - that is, a dueling build. Combat becomes predictable. On the other hand, open world PvP (surprise surprise, what most of us actually bought this game to do in the first place) is dynamic, unpredictable and hence, exciting. I just don't see the problem between playing the game as we find enjoyable vs being compelled to jump to any challenge to.....defend our honor?

Of course, I'm sure you'll just pretty much ignore the points of my post and run back with some comeback about 'VE's way of enjoyment is bad for the game, shame shame, how dare they run a 24 man group.'

Alas.

My personal opinion is that this thread was made to have lag free and competitive (interesting) medium size groups challenges which is probably the ideal gameplay in Teso PvP right now and it would be great to see the only few remaining competitive guilds right now participating for the sake of having fun, no matter the tensions going on lately between different groups. This tournament won't determinate who is the best at this game. It will simply, like some people pointed out, ease the travel distances, improve the quality of battles and give us a great idea of what small instance battlegrounds would look like in a near TM future.

The fact that you don't want to participate because you think you don't have anything to prouve or anything part of the wall of texts of arguments you brought is totally your right to do so but you're missing out on a lot of fun and I personally see no reason why a guild who wreck faces on a daily basis would not be interested to be part of clean fights like that without latency issues. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

If the event has half the egos and thinly-veiled accusations as this thread does, I don't think I'd be missing out on much fun

The egos brought are player's choices. My point of view regarding the fun that could be had is regarding lag free GvG battles.

That would honestly be funny, as they would get wrecked by the guilds participating. But I dont think thats going to be an issue, as most guild-leaders have at least some respect for the community and they would have nothing to gain from doing it

whenever i see VE they are pushing/defending objectives. thats what this game was designed around. that is what they have the most experience in. you want to fight them? the. go find them.

to call them out because they dont want to participate is laughable. to each their own.
