Before I say anything else, I have to specify: THIS POST IS NOT ASKING FOR A F**-ING NERF, SO STOP ASSUMING IT IS AND READ IT FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!
SKIP TO THE PART CLEARLY LABELLED "SOLUTION IF YOU CAN'T BE BOTHERED READING THE FIRST PART, BUT FOR GOD'S SAKE STOP ASSUMING I'M ASKING FOR A NERF! JESUS CHRIST YOU GUYS!!!
Two guys camping on the roof of Bleaker's Outpost. They stay in stealth literally all the time until they first hit you, then immediately go back into stealth once you're dead.
They spam Lotus Fan (which I assume is what's causing me to go into fear literally all the freaking time), Sap Essence, and Wrecking Blow.
So far, they've managed to kill at least 5 of us going at them at once, it's getting ridiculous. Even when observing...the general area they're in from a distance, I've only ever seen them break cloak in order to attack someone. It never seems to run out on these guys.
Every single time someone brings this up on the forums, someone else deflects it saying "That class is supposed to be good at surprise attacks".
Considering they can stay in stealth seemingly forever, they always seem to have the advantage. NB's are OP as f*** right now. It's not fun how one single class is unbearably OP. There are those who disagree saying each class has something that they're good with, NB's just happens to be surprise attacks, and that the other classes are just as good. This is not true. Put a NB in a 1 on 1 match against any other class and NB can pretty much destroy them by using a fear inducing attack, spamming high-damage moves until they break out of it then immediately re-cloaking before they have a chance to fight back.
DK's can't outlast the guy if they stun, attack, then get away before he has a chance to hit them.
Sorc's are pretty much the same.
Templars have very little chance to heal through it when they spend the first 3 seconds of the encounter too scared to fight.
ZOS has previously stated how your class doesn't limit how you play. This is not true. Only NB's can play like that, it's almost unbeatable by any other class, only by using sheer numbers can you take down guys like this.
THE SOLUTION (The thing that literally everyone so far has ignored)
You know what? There are 3 things that I want ZOS to do about this, and none of them involve nerfing the Nightblades:
- Buff each class so they're better at what they're supposed to be good at. DKs are supposed to be tanky, so make them just as good tanks as the NBs are at ganking. DK tanks should be nigh-unstoppable. Templars are supposed to be the best healers, so I suggest you give other classes basic healing abilities and buff the Templar's heals even further. Sorcs...I'm unsure on as I haven't seen too much of them in PVP, but I assume they're good with crowd control...so maybe give them the best crowd control abilities? Basically, when the classes have essentially reached their....apex (if you can call it that) they should all be awesome in their own way. They should all be just as good at what they do than the NightBlade is now.
- Whilst you're busy with 1, give us a method of changing classes. Back when I started, I thought being a Templar would be cool, I've regretted the decision for months, and the only reason I keep playing as a Templar is because there's no way of changing it without starting all over again. I've spent about 6 months on the game so far, and I do NOT want to do all of it again on a new character. The game shouldn't force me to do so, nor anyone else who didn't know exactly what they wanted at the beginning of the game. I know, you're worried that people will constantly choose whatever the "best class" happens to be and everyone will be one class. If the classes were actually balanced, this wouldn't be a problem, and if you're really that opposed to everyone changing class super often, then maybe there needs to be some kind of cooldown system in place. You know, like only being able to change class once every 3-6 months? I know there are some people that disagree with class-changes entirely, but until they implement it, I will continue to voice my opinion that players shouldn't have 2 crap choices when it comes to having a class they're not happy with (either continue playing a class they don't want to or redo months worth of content on a new character to get back to where they were).
- There should be easily accessible guides for what each class' abilities are and what they are all good at right at the start of the game. Players need to know exactly what they're getting into when they pick a class, considering that it's something that, until you do #2, they're not going to be able to change.
Now that my rant is over, I feel much better for having written it. I'm looking for feedback, who has something constructive to say?
EDIT: You guys are just being ***-holes at this point. You saw the title (WHICH I HAVE NOW CHANGED TO STOP MORE IDIOTS LIKE YOU FLOODING IN!), immediately assumed I was begging for Nightblades to be nerfed when I said no such thing, then started commenting about how pathetic I am for wanting the nerf and telling me I should learn to play.
Now, I'm straight up telling you that's not what the post is about and that I'm not asking for a nerf. You're all still going on at me about how pathetic I am for wanting a nerf. I posted this to offer a solution and you people have all completely freaking ignored it!
