Love that there a lot more styles to craft, but things atm are a pain. You can get mercenary style very easy but laurels are slow to get and not able to be traded or bought. Akaviri even more out of sorts. I not a PvP player but I notice that even thou you can buy and trade Akaviri style it not being sold. I managed a few pieces last week from trader but so far the traders seem 'out of stock' so far. Question is how hard is it for PvP players to get the style pieces and is it that they not making a profit for selling them?

Ask around to find out the current normal price of AP, then go search "WTB: AP" for a while, till you find a PvP player who has plenty of AP to sell out of. Since the pieces have to be bought for AP, people don't want to make wrong purchases, so they wait till someone ask for it.

If you see any Akiviri in stores, it's probably (though not always) because they bought it and then the buyer declined the trade, so they're stuck with a motif and wants it sold.

Stuff like Rings of Cyrodiils Light at 1.6 patch could be bought and put in guild trader, because it was only one type of item, however the motifs are many, and some are cheaper and others are more expensive in terms of AP, and when people buy they only go for what they want/ can afford/ haven't learned yet. So buying them would be a waste, untill you know what your costumer wants.
...also the rings were needed back then for damage dealers, while the motif is pure vanity, so non-crafters have no interest in buying it, while others just think it's silly to spend that much AP/ gold to get them.

ESO economy can be complicated ^^

AP value has decreased quite alot. In PC-EU i got the last missing pages with help of my PvP-guildies at 1 g:5 AP ratio. From stores i got pages even cheaper.

I think this motif actually pulls down AP value. The AP price was too high. I am not going to pay over 1mil g from cosmetic stuff, so the ratio had to change. I probably would have paid same in gold, even if AP prices had been half from current. I felt a bit pity for PvP players.

Remember that style material is also sold by siege merchant, 5k AP * 10 per piece.

The funny irony is, when I complained on the PTS forum that the AP price was too high, the PvPers jumped in and said it was perfect--that the high price means that only they can get it and so they can sell it for more gold and that they loved the high AP cost.

I expected something like this to happen, that the high price will just devalue AP because nobody really wants to spend that much gold on a motif. So AP is now worth less than half of what it was worth in the days when people were buying Cyro Light rings. They could've made much more gold for their AP if the price was 1/4 of the current price. They underestimate just how little AP non-PvP players have and just how out of reach prices would be even if it was 1/4 the AP.

Cyro light rings was a "must have" gear for v14 damage dealers back then, Akiviri motifs are only for the sake of vanity, so less people are able to use them and even less will prioritize it. Those that do will actually pay a very high price for it.

I got several friends who cares about learning all motifs and recipes on all their chars. - being a completionist is expensive, and we do pay what's required.

So don't loose your hope, there is still profit to be made on AP

Helmets and Chests cost 500k AP. Even for the best of us, that is close to a week for something that you can't be sure to sell, since, as you rightly said, there's a shipload of styles circulating currently.

Ask while being in a high pop campaign. I'm sure you will get some offers.

I paided 250k Gold for chests and I felt that was way too high. A motif set is not worth a million gold lol Is this all geared to making people by motifs in Crown Stores?
