You should add the ability to pvp with beard hair, that way we actually get some new PVP content.

I dont think the guy who designs beards would otherwise be working on network code.
The feature has been promised almost since launch day.

Indeed it has. And then got sidetracked like everything else when they diverted all resources to the console release. You may have noticed how many of the other things promised a year ago were released only now - Imperial City, Wrothgar/Orsinium... so, chances are good character recustomization will finally come... "soon™" ;)

I noticed. I left about a year ago with the hope of returning when the game matured a bit and received some more content (according to devs' promises). Somewhat disappointed to see how little was added.

I hope you realize that almost all of that year was spent in finalizing the console version, not in making new content. It was the consoles that ZOS expected to be their bread and butter, not PC, so it was important to make console launch their priority. Since that occurred in June, they've made great progress at making decent changes to the game and bringing us TWO DLCs with an expectation of a new DLC every three months, along with adding fixes, improvements and other new things along the way.

They could probably use his resources elsewhere

To add to my last post
"I say hair dye should be allowed, as should more makeup options as long as it works with the lore. In other words no neon hair or particularly modern makeup, just stuff that fits in nicely. We are lacking on circlet and flower hair decor, and some metal pins for pinned back hairstyle could definitely be made to look pretty cool. Some more tribal and regal adornments and hairstyles would be nice as well."

I would also like to suggest that scars & makeup/paint become layerable/two seperate options on the barbershop/creation screen, so you can wear facepaint AND have a scar or two. Same goes for dirt/burn effects if they are added.

Also agree with the addition of horns, and horn decor, and that some more beards are needed.

Personally I would like some more tribal maybe even wild and feral hairstyles, with some very fancy posh hairs to counter that, you get the idea :)

Yes. They have a guy who makes beards. Not mustaches, not hairstyles, just beards. And only grey ones. For nords, exclusively. Theres another guy for black beards. Breton beards have their own team. And theres a guy for elf ears. /s

Sure. Heard that one before. Its all coming soon. Im yet to see an MMO that lived up to the hype and dev promises. First thing I noticed coming back after a year - it takes me 4 attempts to actually log in. Every solo instance - lag and DC after a few minutes. Its like they took a step back instead of moving forward in some regards.

I'm all for seperating visual options in more layers - scars, makeup, tatoos, jewlery, beards... some people like to mix quite a bit here I would think... ;)

And for the scar section, I'd welcome stuff like a broken tusk, blind eye with or without partch, cut eartip, glasgow smile, etc. Some people like to make their characters look a bit battle damaged after all, wear their scars as bades of honor and all that...

If they don't change it to offer a limited time free edit after creation, then I think any option implemented should not be restricted to crowns only. I don't think it would be that hard to put in an NPC that would just take you back to your saved creation screen and let you edit the existing options (which would cost gold, of course).
If the game has stayed subscription powered, that's how it would have been.
But as often mentioned, that ship has sailed and sunk a long time ago.
Now its different, and they need to make their profit through the crown store, so all of that will almost certainly be crown-powered. After all, they need to pay their employees, server upkeep and show enough of a profit that the suits in charge don't pull the plug...

As long as they dont charge 5k for each use (or 4 or 2). 500-750 a pop at most. Or 3-5k to unlock and then use as often as you wish.

Crown Store just to use the Barber Shop? What? Hell no. It should be cheap to use with in-game currency, encouraging players to alter simple aspects of their character (ie: hair and adornments, not face structure) as often as they like. This is an incredibly cheap and common feature in other MMOs. Making it expensive as *** just to justify charging for "tokens" or what have you from the Crown Store is an atrocious idea that reeks of abusing a much-requested feature purely for monetary gain with little effort.

Crown Store purchases should unlock new hairstyles and adornments for players to utilize in the Barber Shop. That way everyone can use the Barber, but Crown Store purchases unlock additional options. They still make money from Crown Store purchases, but without locking basic styles from the vanilla game behind ludicrous pay walls to encourage Crown spending just for Barber access.

    Yes. Because magic.

Or maybe we're buying fake beards from the fences in the outlaw refuges 'cause we're on the lam! Actually I think it would be AWESOME if this was implemented via a shady wizard you could go to in the outlaw refuges who says something like, "Been a little TOO naughty have we? And now the heat is a little TOO hot? Not to worry, Step right over here and close your eyes and Wizard Bob will make it as if you never were..."

Then POOF you're in the character creation screen. And I agree with those who say this should be a one time purchase that is account wide and is basically just an account upgrade you can then use as often as you like. This should offer a name and sex change as well since these options do not affect stats.

Changes that affect stats like race change and class change could be sold via one time use "scrolls" to help discourage the MOTD folks. You can purchase a scroll for whichever race you want to change to and done, You would then be returned to character creation screen, locked in at the race of your new choice, when you use it and you would have the option of name and sex change as well at that time. Class change scrolls would be less expensive and would NOT return you to character creation.

Perhaps. But seriously, there's a whole GIANT thread ZOS themselves made asking people what sorts of things they want in the Crown Store and precious few of them have been done. Many requests for polymorphs and skins that would be super easy for them to do. The whole "change your character" thing...code is already there so why isn't that a thing yet since players have been begging for it since launch?

We have access to the character editor when we create our character so give us that same editor again through an NPC in a shop except without the ability to choose our name, race or class.

It's really damned simple to implement when you think about it.

Exactly, though I would argue that a name change should be available at that time as well. Sex change for that matter too. Anything that does not affect stats.

Is there a need for barber shop, when veteran ranks are removed?
Almost all players can make an alt to max lvl 50. So, I don't find a need to buy it.

A lot of people would pay a few crowns to try out new custmization options for their existing characters instead of leveling a new one from 0 .

Please Zos fix the body types, shorter legs with long torso looks kind of weird...

    Absolutely. Also, female running animations.

    .

And male WALKING animations! Females get a nice sassy catwalk walking animation and the males all look like... hmmm...how can I say this? Like there's something quite rigid shoved up somewhere it really shouldn't be.

SO here's something else the crown store could make a pretty penny on.... new walk/run animations!!! Seriously, no two people walk exactly the same way. So there should be a host of different walk/run animations for us to choose from. I know I'd pay to get my poor guys a new walk! 'Cause right now... they look downright uncomfortable!

Forgot to add; variations of appearing wounded. Bandages, stitched up scars and wounds, wounds that are still a little red suggesting you've battled recently, maybe some with a hint of blood, or poison. Also, this brings to mind the possibility of diseases and such and the marks they would probably leave; veins showing a little more, dark circles, a dead eye (for all races, as opposed to just argonians), bruises. <3

A barber with a very small in game GOLD cost would be fine. Basically take us back to the character creation screen with race ,class, and Alliance locked. No reason for this to cost crowns. Encouraging players to like playing their characters encourages players to like playing the game. That's ZOS's benefit from barber shop implementation.

Died laughing at the "spare wand" comment! But yeah, in addition to walk/run animations they could do a whole host of emotes and idles as well. We reallly need more idle animations! And these should be pretty cheap as far as crowns cost frankly. They charge ridiculous prices like they do for mounts I would NOT be amused. But idle animations like "shy" "flirty" "serious" "aggressive" and the like would be very welcome.

But back to the OP... IF they sell individual hairstyles in the crown store those need to be an account wide unlock, NOT per character.

Agreed. Hair styles that fit the game world? Definitely! Spiked neon punk mowhawks? No thanks (native american style mohawks on the other hand...)

Weeeeellllll... have you seen some of the "classic dunmer hairstyles" from TES:Morrowind?? Rather close to some anime styles...
As long as its not hair that looks like the character is piggyback-carrying cousin Itt from the addams family... (you know what hairstyles I am talking about)

Once we have recustomization features, I really hope they won't just sell more options, but tie some to achievements as well. Prison Tatoos or whip scars for justice system achievements! Cultural hairstyles and makeups/adornments for regional achievements! Warpaints for PvP achievements!

Of course, that crownstore options will be coming is pretty much a given.
Again, I would hope they might do more there then merely selling extra nifty hair/beard/makeup/adornment options... I would love to see "structural" options that allow characters going beyond current limits... stuff like:
Cross-racial eye- and hair-colors for those who want a bit of "halfbreed" in their backstory.
Special unlock that allow to play as "titanborn" distant cousin of Lyris, taller-then-allowed characters.
Special unlock that allow to play as "dawrf" (NOT Dwemer!), shorter-then-allowed-yet-stocky characters (beardedness optional. Perhaps with extra chest hair option, but then we'd also need a nifty crossbow... ;) ).
Special unlock that allows people to play a overly muscular character (make it an orc and grab a big hammer to "smash"? ;) )
Perhaps some other special unlocks to exceed a normal slider limit (Yes, I am looking at those "female chest enthusiasts" here! )

Extra height slider so you can be even taller or shorter by a bit would be fun though.
