How often do players accept your truce in pvp IC?

I don't know what I will do anymore after yesterday.

I was in a delve(forgot which one) and I rolled into a room with a boss & adds being attacked. I jumped in the fight, then saw it was 2 AD players killing the mobs. I hit the boss and mobs & after everything was dead, the AD players were holding up block & jumping. I am a v16 and they were level 10 & 26. I left them alone. They even pointed out a treasure chest for me. I thought that was nice.

I was really close to the shard in the cave too. Not even a minute after they left and before I could get the shard, 2 v16 AD players ran up and killed me.

Sigh....I was a bit mad.

This works rarely for me. I was in IC not too long after release and was trying to get the main quest done. About 3 EP jumped me and killed me and I came right back less than a minute later and just put my weapon away and they killed me again, I came right back and the same thing. I thought they'd get the hint since they were getting zero AP and zero telvar stones, but nope. BTW, I've never completed IC quests on any character.

I do this alot with people I'm familiar with or guildies on alts etc. Not just in IC but in regular cyro too.

Sometimes I even let the lowlevels pass until they start attacking like crazy , then it's on xD

I haven't seen this, but I was a notorious world pvper in WoW. But... when a player waved at me, I didn't have the heart to attack them.

I almost always accept a truce if it is clear. Also, more often than not, asking for a truce results in a truce being given. To be fair I usually only ask when i can clearly see that the other player is a PVE player, or just not interested in fighting others at the moment.

Personally speaking, if there was to be truces, the alliances themselves(pact, covenant, dominion) would have to learn to unite against their common enemy, just like in the main story, but one should always keep an eye on the one calling the truce & keep their wits about them, lest they try to stab you in the back. It's like they always say. "A friend is just an enemy that hasn't attacked yet."

Sometimes, I'm running around with a pretty strong char in Cyro, only to see players that, I know, stand absolutely no chance of killing me.

I'm not interested in unbalanced fights, so I just sheath my weapons in front of them. Sometimes they just go their own way, sometimes they attack (and die a quick yet still rather painful death).

I'm not counting times where I am outnumbered, since for those, I engage without hesitation.

Don´t work in IC. If you don´t attack them they will just follow you and attack you right when you pulled the next mobs. If I´m on a farm run I try to avoid people but if they spot me it´s them or me. Show mercy and it bites you in the back That´s what I learned from IC.

And there are those funny guys who beat a whole minute on you failing to realise they don´t do enough damage to me by a large margin. But they won´t stop until I kill them. Most of the times it´s some lower levels guys which I did not want to attack so they can farm in peace. But after next patch battle-leveled people will be buffed so sparing them will be no more a viable option.

Most annoying variation of truce are the cross-faction-gankers. Preferably two nightblades from enemy factions teaming up ganking people at their spawn. So yea, IC deleted the idea of truce for me.

The only time I have seen a 'truce' was once on the PTS. An EP player and I found a abnormality about the same time. Instead of killing each other, we just sorta pointed it out to each other and then went on our way. I submitted a bug report and I guess he did the same. This was back when we had the red item missing boxes.

I've been playing MMO's since the late 90's almost exclusively, I have been a massive pvp'er in many of the pvp designed games (daoc, warhammer online, shadowbane, eve online, age of conan and so on) as well as many FPS games, and I have never in 20yrs ever heard of that, I think someone is punking you.

I voted 1-15% as there have been two instances of the many times being in IC when another faction and I have chosen not to engage each other and get the trophy we were there for. To expect this from the majority of players though will cause you a lot of grief though....

I get ganked and obliterated without a chance to do that.. even on my own and when I clearly run away. They still come after me.

AD outnumber us in every campaign I've been in... even the ones where statistically we have more players just seems none of them come online.

It can happen. If I meet another player/s inside the trophy vaults in the Imperial City, I will make sure I face their avatars and wave 3x to say hi and assure them I want to walk away peacefully. Occasionally I do start a a chat and that's how I meet more players from another faction. Once my Guild has a group of ten running in the Imperial City questing and found a DC player in the Noble district quest turn in building. He jumped and waved back. I specifically asked my group to leave that player alone and several times later too when we saw him running in other spots within the same district.

Haha thx and no worries! Your posts during the PTS processes are always helpful do much to communicate to ZoS and us how the game is changing and how some of those changes may not be so good. I'll kill the mob for you so you can pick flowers in peace
