For me blocking is never a sign of truce but a sign of being in staggered if I attack that toon.(like in dark souls)

Honestly, assuming you don;t have a lot of stones, if you don't fight back most people will let you go. The reaction is usually to fight back which is why they don't. I can honestly say I've never not accepted a block truce. The thing is most people I try to gank don't block truce lol.

Just yesterday I let a v2 go right after his v16 friend tried to kill me.

Haha thx and no worries! Your posts during the PTS processes are always helpful do much to communicate to ZoS and us how the game is changing and how some of those changes may not be so good. I'll kill the mob for you so you can pick flowers in peace

I can't remember who it was but I was with them defending the top of sej from a horde of bananas and I went down. I was right between the archers and I could see my fellow EP player just standing there with the wave emote and the zerg went up the stairs and then right past him and let him live. It was really funny at the time.

There can be no truce between LIONS and men.

On a side note...stopping where you are and jumping is the universal gamers signal to truce. This is true in almost all multiplayer games.

If the enemy survives long enough to actually try and negotiate with me, i consider it, however that rarely happens.

Anyway, you do know you can talk via whisper to any player right? That includes your enemies. Only zone/regional chat is limited by faction, guild and private chats are crossfaction, including mail and whispers.

A couple weeks ago in BWB I was playing my Magicka Templar, and ran into another Magicka Templar. After about 30 seconds of fighting and neither of our health bars moving, I stopped attacking and sheathed my weapons. The other Templar then sheathed his weapons and used the wave emote. I waved back and we went our separate ways.

Reading the last option made me burst out in laughter so I naturally had to go with that. Then again, I don't understand people who go to one of the few PvP-Enabled zones in the game to make peace...

If I come across a lone player who is obviously questing or shard hunting, especially if they're of a lowbie level, I'll offer a truce - most times it's accepted. (Lol have even made some good friends by it! )
Once I was questing in Cyrodiil with my EP & needed to cross the bridge near Alessia. There were about half a dozen AD standing on the bridge. I knew I couldn't take them all on, so I stripped off all my armour, sheathed my weapons and walked casually up to them. To their credit not one attacked - instead they started playing instruments so I danced for them a bit before moving on.
(Lol one msg'd me to say he was laughing so much he couldn't have fought me anyway! )

Not sure about 'truce' so much, but if I am playing with my boyfriend are we are in some remote part of Cyrodiil where some poor guy is obviously questing or something, I will tell my boyfriend to leave him alone. He likes to murder innocents so doesn't always listen but... Some people aren't interested in fighting, and I feel like a *** killing somebody when they just want to get on with it and aren't really into the PvP side of things. I have also walked away from fights before because they have gone on for too long and it gets pointless and boring (usually another templar) but that often ends in a wave or a bow, not a shield up I too would just see that as blocking!

I never do this, so noone can accept it.
But when I see someone with a low alliance rank at a Cyrodiil quest hub or a single non veteran player anywhere in Cyrodiil I usually don't attack them unless they decide to attack me.

Btw. If someone looks at me, blocks and maybe jumps, I assume he wants to duel with me.

It only happened once, last night, a lower level actually did the salute emote when I started attacking. I wanted a duel, not a slaughter, so I slowly back away never turning my back on him.

For me personally I find no fun in fighting someone that does not fight back, no sport in it. Often times if I see someone fighting mobs, I'll light attack them to get their attention first so it is more of a fair fight, as opposed to "ganking" them.
