A lot of players have been asking to trade BoP gear within the party of the instance. I think it would be a good addition

I actually like that idea. A lot.

However, there must not be any hidden back door whatsoever to enable selling/trading BoP items later once the instance/party is over.

Nope only at the end of a trial/dungeon be able to trade with your party members

    Good, good.

Also, there can't exist any "replacing" a member before finally disbanding the party to gift over an item this sneaky way...
Sounds like a nightmare to code actually; probably never gonna happen.
    But I'd like it. A lot. :)

Well, in games like WoW this worked pretty well... you were able to trade BoP items for 4h with party members. This is no nightmare to code btw... just variables to fill with the UID of the players the moment it drops and a timer.

    Cheers

I'd say a 5 minute time limit. Or a way to lock it to whoever was in the party when you got that particular drop. That way you avoid people joining the dungeon after it was dropped to buy said piece.

Only those who have participated in the kill should be able to receive the BoP from another fellow player.

Those with friends get all the good stuff and the rest? This is kind of attitude is exacly what kills MMORPGs these days, favor some people over others.

I like this idea better. But I could settle for BoP trading inside the group.
It's time for an overhaul of the current loot system!
Implement a Token-System, so people get rewarded for their time invested!
RNG^RNG is both tedious and undesirable!

BoP is kind of an odd thing, I know it is used to try and force people to do content but when you have a crown store that offers things like rare motifs that people have farmed a ton for it kind of looses its logic. One option would be to have a group loot window which shows all the loot dropped maybe with the option to designate items type for each member. So the tank who uses heavy armor would only see those drops. You could also use a system I have seen where people can designate a need option for a random role to try and get the items. I think there are several different ways that would be better then current implementation.

BoP is fair for all. Everybody has exactly the same odds to get the item.

You only have to be in a group to make the trade, they don't have to be your bffs. Reality is you can't complete the content without being in a group in the first place!

That was my point exactly. Fix group-finder first so everybody has the chance to get those. Now those with friends can grind Dungeons and get the best loot possible and now they want to even increase their odds.

That's not really whats happening lol, it's helping your friends out in an MMO and buying/selling stuff within raids

    THIS.
If the actual item could "remember" who was on the party when the loot spawned, this would be awesome.

It is the best thing they can do to alleviate the grind for BoP items without taking away BoP entirely. I don't see why this isn't already a thing.

Very nice ideea! Maybe to prevent cofusions, bugs, exploits they could add a platform, a room, a space at the end of the dungeon where u can trade ONLY if u dint leave the dungeon and come back .
  • TheFamousMockingbird
In another game I played, when you looted a boss chest, there was an option to pass a piece of gear to any party member while it remained in the chest. If you weren't in the party when boss was killed you were locked out of the chest. Worked great for getting highly sought BoA items to the proper classes. It also took the sting out of the rare item grind and fickle RNG gods.

The worst aspect was that occasionally someone would misclick and pass an item to someone who already exited the dungeon, leaving it to rot in the chest.

Now there were also social aspects to the looting. Guild groups could promote Need before Greed to gear up all members. PuG's might haggle and form a trade based on an item. Some people already had the item and could just pass it to the highest /rolldice. I might pass it to my cousin. The point is that the players got to decide.

This is a feature for a sub game, not a B2P game in my mind.

If this happened, people would be extremely convenienced by this feature; why would they go out of their way to create conveniences when the whole purpose of the Crown Store is to sell convenience items? Why would they intentionally lower the value of their monetization?

Complete and utter nonsense, but it wouldn't suprise me if this was one of the reasons.

They tell us where Merc Motif drops but refuse to tell us which trophy vaults can drop which Xivkyn page due to possibility of it affecting future Crown store sales. If they can deliberately engineer inconveniences by not doing something, they will and have done so, this makes it easier to boost Crown store convenience value.
