I would do the same....I'd completely drop the game if they raised the cap again, especially in 2 months of each other.
If they want to do it again... wait until console has had a chance to play for a year like the PC crowd did...
On Ps4 we got to START playing the game in May i think?... 3-4 months later the cap was raised before many people could even reach v14.... now it's 16 and people have some gear and have put in a lot of time to get a character well equipped.
Noone wants to constantly grind for new materials and new gear every 2 months. If you are completely ready for new content after only 2 months... you REALLY need to go outside and try talking to a face instead of a microphone. Oh, and get a job.

Ultimately I fear the unmitigated disaster that full Rank removal will cause...
VR removal was announced a little after Craglorn...before champion levels
Where did you see adding VR levels was the original plan?
When the first VRanks were announced and we got several with lower crag upper crag etc... they were saying initially the plan was to add 2 every zone, that's what made me start playing the game when I did (June 2014) was that selling point, new progression every couple months or so.
VR were introduced during closed beta.
The game was better without them...better without having characters in diff factions, better without silver n gold quests but June 2014 was waaaay after VR were added.
Craglorn was also waaaay after and some of the dialogue around why VR levels kept getting raised and why VR exp was raised and exp gains were lowered. Whatever and who ever is behind all this has spread it to champion levels.
All I'm saying is finish the job that was presented about removing VR levels and allowing champion levels to be the replacement
That's a start
Then we can dialogue around this new champion point catch up idea (insanity - doing the same thing over and over expecting different results)

That's a bit of a *** comment. I've got several friends that work and have families, one of them managed to hit vr16 within a day of IC dropping, and made sure to manage his game time, yes he's been a bit lucky and the loot boxes have given him several agility sets with good traits, of which he's made several million gold from.
But he already has 3 vr 16s in full gold gear.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ if he is on ps4 he is absolutely not balancing his game/life time. (this game has only been out on ps4 for a few months) I have 1 v16 and just started a new character... and i probably play 5-6 days every week. (sometimes its only an hour or so but others its multiple hours)
Plus, I was being more sarcastic about the "get a job" and "go outside" comments...
Anyway... if you had friends get to v16 the DAY the dlc came out... thats ridiculous. Managed game time?? there is no way they did ANYTHING except play to get 2 vet levels in the same evening.
This takes the average person more time than 1 day. and its not just getting the levels... its getting the gear now. To make each piece of v16 crafted gear you need 100+ materials. That takes quite a bit of time.
none of this matters anyway because they are not upping the vet level... move on.

You can easily grind one vet rank per hour...
