Not sure were to put this, so it goes here. On my woodworking Writ I was requested to make a Bristlecone staff. You didn't put bristlecone in the game (VR17 & 18 mat). Thanks. ;-)

Really?!?!?!? Well that means eventually they'll be updating the writs which is good news. And I'm sure going to be interested in seeing how you work this out.

I found 65 "old" nodes and 10 "new" nodes.
@ZOS_GinaBruno Yup yup, didn't have time to post about this last night, but we did indeed test and found that people could potentially troll these new nodes, especially if the nodes remain as whatever they were "opened" as until actually harvested.DobbaDeuce wrote: »
I haven't tested with other players, but this could potentially mean that a low craft-skill player could go around clicking on nodes, but not taking their contents, and result in higher craft-skill player looting their lower tier rewards even though to them it looks like the node should be high-tier.
A guild mate and I tested this earlier today (can't remember if I filed this one yet), both as a group and splitting from the group, she opened up what I saw as voidstone and saw it as Iron. I then opened up the node and got iron. No idea what the timeout is though, so it may not be as bad as it seems.
The writs are already update for the "ruby" mats from IC/Wrothgar. You turn them in in Wrothgar and there are 3 of each "type" of survey maps to be found in Wrothgar.
It'll be for any battle-levelled zone. So that's Wrothgar, and also Cyrodiil. The zones with fixed levels will still have the same fixed resource nodes that they had before.Cherryblossom wrote: »Could you confirm that the idea for Nodes Scaling to Skill Level, is only going to be in the New End Zones?
I don't see why they would even put the old nodes to the new zone. What am I supposed to do with those mats when the writs need the new mats?
I haven't tested out this part of the PTS yet but if I am reading correctly... new writs require the new material? If that's the case the new nodes should spawn way more then people are saying they are. I get you want us to grind this crap out BUT I am NOT spending 5 hours a day farming just to do a couple of writs a day. As a crafter that sucks. As a player, that sucks.

I like the idea of scaling to passive, but what concerns me reading these comments are writs. If writs use these artificially rare mats how are we suppose to actually do them?
Currently the system works; I farm mats for an 1-2 hrs and have enough to do the equipment writs. Question for those who have actually farmed there: how long would I need to farm to get enough mats for a writ?
I also agree that having lower VR mats drop for players with maxed crafting is silly. But having the lower mats there in general, since it's a zone for all levels (and therefore all crafting abilities), is a good idea.Pangnirtung wrote: »I agree. Oh absolutely. If they're required for writs, then they need to be common enough to be obtainable for writs. People won't bother farming the mats for hours just to do a writ, they just won't bother to do the writ at all.I haven't tested out this part of the PTS yet but if I am reading correctly... new writs require the new material? It's important to note that IF a writ requires the "new" mats, the writ requires far fewer items to be made. See screenshot.
Also note that I picked up these writs in Wrothgar. I'm not sure if the Craglorn writs have changed or not.
Edit: I abandoned the writ and went to Craglorn. The writs were the higher material as well. Personally I think the writ should be for the material of the Zone in which you pick it up. Also the turn-in should be in that zone!

Well, I went directly to the PTS after I posted so for the past hour I have been in Wrothgar searching for any sign of anything other than void/night and was found wanting. An entire hour scouring and not one piece of rubi-anything! lol
Edit, and yes I have everything in crafting maxed out

- Guards with shield bash abilities will no longer bash with no immunity.
- Harvest nodes in Cyrodiil now scale to the most advanced material type your character can use for crafting.

Exactly how I felt, although the mats will be even more rare than in IC.When they announced new nodes in Wrothgar I thought "yeah, finally, I'm sick of farming mobs in IC" but now it feels like there's no difference.
So good luck to anyone who plans to farm those mats there. It's boring as f*** and whoever came up with the idea that the old mats are all over the place should really think about that decision. The fact that you need a ton of material to craft V16 apparently was not enough of a grind ...
