IC dungeons too difficult in VET mode for casual players !!!!

prabhu.abhimanyurwb17_ESO
Well i am not sure if this topic has been brought up before, but i feel like the new dungeons in IC are just too difficult for people who are not v16 and who don't have top notch gear. I have had many instances where i, a V8 character, am not able to complete the dungeon even if the remaining members in the group are V14+ and the dungeon is scaled to V8. No other Vet dungeon has been so difficult to complete.
Hardcore players might cry foul in this discussion, saying that this is the challenge they needed, but casual players like me are suffering and i have had absolutely no returns so far from the new dlc content. I haven't even completed the IC dungeons in normal mode as the grouping tool still doesnt work as expected !!!! and its difficult to get someone for the normal run via chat if its not a pledge! So far i never got these new dungeons for silver pledge !
I thought the grouping tool now looks for players in all Alliance and still I cant form groups for the latest dungeons!!! either ppl dont use the grouping tool or there are not many players in ESO !!!

Good grief - VET MODE dungeons are for people who want really challenging content.
Go do the normal versions, they are for the rest of us mere mortals.
I don't understand why everyone thinks they should be able to do everything.

All valid points he brings up. For the most part on console, unless you have lots of champion points, are in a top guild to help carry each other, or are a PC transfer the new dungeon content really is too hard for the majority of players. Zenimax needs to base the dungeon difficulty on console rather than the PC version on release. PC addons also help tremendously.

Wow, i somehow saw all this bitching coming forth.
    1) I am able to complete other vet dungeons, why should these new dungeons be on another difficulty spectrum ???
    2) Sorry, I thought the grouping tool changes were already in effect. I thought these change had come along with the DLC. My reading comprehension skills are just fine, i got this info from the quakecon video and Matt mentioned this detail then and since i skipped some parts of the video i thought this was part of the DLC changes

The problem with the normal version of these dungeons is the difficulty is really easy where as the Vet Dungeon is Vet Difficulty x 5. There's too big of a gap between them. It's almost as if they need another level in between them and make that the Veteran one. The timing could be off for these as well. When hardly anyone wants to do these when they are the Vet pledge pretty much says it all.

I agree that these should NOT be a walk in the park, but if you can't take 4 random V16's who know how to stay out of red dots and still can't complete it, then the Vet difficulty may be just a tad high.

As a casual player myself, just stop. They are VET dungeons, do the normal versions if they are too hard for you.

Just for everyone: The patch for PC 2.1.6 lowered the damage that IC dungeon mobs are doing. 2 Patches after PC Release

-There has not been any patches since console release (we all know they are usually 1 month behind).

TO ALL CONSOLERS: considering the lag behind patches in consoles, I doubt the reduction in vet IC dungeons have been implemented yet.

While I'm against reducing game difficulty, this is just an fyi that it will be coming to you (I doubt they implemented this reduction at console release).

Before you start ripping into the OPs somewhat accurate but misguided post:

What I have found initially when using the grouping tool for other games. Is that at first it is used for practice in many respects and was good to practice due to the anonymity of it since it pulled players from other servers(or in this case other factions).

Soon we will be seeing the beginning of some serious improvements for ESOs Grouping Tool, the first is that it'll be able to pull characters from all factions, like I hinted at above. I'm speculating here, but if ESO does have a large amount of players that do not understand the Dungeons as well as others, then it's partially to do with the Grouping Tool not really existing as a valid choice.

Practice is very easy to do if you can join a group of "randoms" via a reliable grouping tool. Even if it's not practice, just having that option is like giving a helping hand to those that don't usually wait around in zones for "shout groups" or do not feel confident enough to make a group themselves. A grouping tool can alleviate this initial hurdle players may have, I hope other players can understand this.

The game difficulty gap between normal and veteran is too large, ZOS should lower veteran dungeons difficulty and there should be 3 difficulties for ESO dungeons. Normal, Veteran, and Hardcore.

Normal gives normal item drop %, veteran gives veteran items with normal drop %, and hardcore gives increased veteran item drop %.

    Problem solved.

I guess, then Zenimax should have made it clear that this DLC was only for PRO's. I bought the DLC and for the last 1 month other then a small skirmish in the IC sewers (even though i am not into PVP yet) i have had no returns from this DLC. Even with experienced players in the group we couldn't finish it. I am just saying why not have multiple scaling.

My suggestion: If the dungeon is scaled to V14 or below, then bring the difficulty of dungeon on par with other vet dungeons.
If dungeon is scaled to v15 or v16, then make it more challenging !

    1. If you haven't completed normal mode, do so.
    2. You can create your own group rather than expecting the group tool (which everyone knows does not work well right now) to form one for you.
    3. Get to cap. You cannot expect to complete end game vet level 4 mans and for them to be easy to do at level v8

Hey! I apologized if I hurt anybody's feelings, but, as someone who has been a gamer since the mid '70's and have always considered gaming a hobby. It just seems like it is taken so very, very seriously. It is, after all, just a game. While I've beaten 100's of games in my lifetime, I, honestly have never really considered it an accomplishment. Raising 2 kids to be productive adults while not going insane? Now that was an accomplishment to me. Managing to stay married 16 years without my other 1/2 killing me? Now that was an accomplishment. Beating Dark Souls? Not an accomplishment. Just beating a game.

Again, I apologize if I hurt anybody's feelings.

Isn't this what somebody who doesn't play video games is supposed to say? Aren't you here defeating Molag Bal's minions right along side all of us other fine people? If you feel no sense of accomplishment while completing achievements in video games, then why do you even play? I have all of those life accomplishments you listed as well. There's not a standard that defines what get's to be considered an accomplishment by everyone. Honestly, just kinda sounds like you're a little salty that you're not very good at gaming, after all these years.

They should just rename the Veteran status of the dungeons to Ludicrous.

Then when people wonder why they can't complete a Ludicrous dungeon, we all point and laugh because the reason is already in the name.

Veteran just doesn't carry that "Expert, Pro, Adept" feel to it. You can be a war veteran without ever firing your gun.

If you grew up in the '70s though, you likely know that what you posted is the sort of opinion older gamers hear from their mum - we accept that lack of understanding from our parents, who did not grow up with video games, but it is very unwelcome from fellow gamers, especially on a gaming forum.

For what it's worth I consider myself to be a bit above casual and average and I've yet to be able to complete them. I do find them pretty hard and my team is doing everything possible to boost their damage. It feels pretty THIS or death, and I'm not a fan of one-shot mechanics.

In my opinion, CoA and CoH (before we were able to steam roll those dungeons...) felt about right as far as difficulty goes. We could at least get pass the bosses, but we've thrown our face into Ibomez way too long to even feel like we're making any progression. Right now the difficulty feels artificially inflated, but that's just me.

I like a challenge, but vWTG and vICP feel like it's designed for the DK Tank, Templar Healer, 2x Ranged casters. Anything outside of that meta feels like a handicap.

    Just my opinion though.
