Problem is that's still a problem....so perhaps some saying to remove CP's entirely is an idea (not that I'm for but its logical) as long as VR levels are also removed.

If they make a more reasonable cap, the high cp players may be vexed, some may take a break, some may even leave... but once they start rolling out DLCs again, there will be stuff for them to do once more, and meanwhile the newbies will start growing into their own, and reports of that growth may draw more newbies.
Although...
Personally I am starting to wonder if maybe they should instead just add more catchup mechanics. Give low cp players a lot more enlightment, so they can speedrace to c-points, and expand the whole c-point syastem upwards (yes, with overcharge options, sub-stars and such - different thread), but slow down progression for high cp players.
If, say, people from 0-300 cp got quadruple enlightment, and those from 301-600 double, while those from 601-900 as usual, and any over 900 (whoa, anime flashback!) get no enlightment at all... and then every three months they raise those numbers with the newest DLC...

That makes absolutely no sense. They said that the cap would affect a small portion of players. There are no players with 3600. Not to mention that 3600 is not an arbitrary number. It is the max amount of points that can be spent.

We know that over a month and a half ago a player had over 1600 CP's on PC.
His was shared on ESO live and was prior to the PC release of IC.
This player and others around them are going to hit 2000 if not already. The first cap would seemingly be higher than their current and set room for growth so by the time it's put into place this player at the rate of gaining CP's since March will surpass 2000.
What number do you feel makes sense as a cap consider this?

I am willing to bet that the cap will land between 500-1k! ZOS are aiming A LOT of their attention to the Console player base. Do I necessarily agree with them doing that? No. Does it make sense they are doing it? Yes.
But just like we have recently found out with the HIDDEN TEXT CHAT CODE that is already in the game for consoles. We can guess all we want about what ZOS plans are for this game until we see it in the game we simply do not know anything.

Leave me to not want to guess anymore about what ZOS are planning lol.

(I'm interpreting this code to be from PC and not console)

Nope that was pulled STRAIGHT FROM THE CONSOLE! I pulled that error code straight from my TV screen when it popped up from launching ESO on my Xbox One
After digging around it indeed IS in the console data. "Gamepad" should give it away..
I know.. I know.. You and I had it out over the text chat, but there is your proof brother.. It is there in pixels!

Same people also said that ZOS would not spend resources on adjusting the broken CP system, but I guess they are eating crow samiches now eh?

This is really derailing and off topic.
Let's not do that here....I prob won't reply to the other thread either cause it's beating a dead horse.
The CP stuff tho....coming from PTS on PC where we at the time had to sub too...a lot of feedback and heated threads went on about what's being discussed now.
Even in consideration of hey ZOS if you do this don't award CP's for VR levels due to console.
Well now it's out, it's been unchanged and even said it's no longer here to replace VR even tho the original CP's were given to us up to 70 based on our VR levels.
The real fix now is just disable any and all CP's AND VR in PvP.
That gives ZOS an out and then it's only a PvE topic to work on

Yeah, but CP "was" a dead horse until now...
I do not think disabling for PVP is the silver bullet here. It is still a broken system that left unaddressed in PVE like you suggest is still leaving ZOS with having to program basically TWO GAMES at the same time.
You will leave ZOS having to develop content to be challenging yet rewarding for THREE groups.
1/Vet 1-16
2/Vet1-16 with mid range CP
3/Vet16+ with 1200+CP..
That alone would drive this games content/balance into a crawl.

Oh no....don't forget I'm Mr remove VR yesterday.
So I'd prefer it be a cap of level 50 and nothing else BUT I could be happy with:
-No VR at all
-No CP in PvP
PvE should not scale, change, etc based on CP's. Champion points should basically be easy mode and in settings, be able to turn on/off just like the Battle level. But instead of just PvP, it should be for the game
