Why is it a problem?
All I'm acknowledging is that some people don't want to reset their skills - and there are so many of them and they complained so loudly that from now on, nobody will be able to reset. So fine, I'm not going to force anyone to reset. But an optional reset, like the scrolls you mentioned, might work. I don't mind if people keep them to reset for free at a later date. It harms nobody.Hyperplexed wrote: »Why is it a problem?
Because it defeats the reset purpose... the reset is needed, because skills change, get nerfed, get buffed, etc, in general, will affect gameplay. Doesn't make any sense that you would want to reset it after 1 month for free...
If you say a free scroll is a solution, you're already aknowledging that no reset is neccessary after major update.

I'm surprised so many people want the forced reset, but perhaps this is just blind-wanting because it's "free"? If they did decide to keep the reset after major patches, over time I can guarantee most of you that want this will get tired of it and probably bring this up again.
Also, you talk about "hard earned gold" like it's actually hard earned and that using a shrine is overly expensive, the option to reset morphs is your friend. The majority of my gold has came from running around doing quests and w/e else in a zone before I leave. I've never once felt short on gold, and I've been upgrading inventory and bank space when I need it.

Not everyone farms and grinds some of us just play I have Trading Guilds solely to buy gear and mats for gear. The most money I "earn" is from selling the drops needed to open rooms in the IC 15k per respect for me plus 3k to the Champion System cause that's fine tuned to the powers on my bar.
A free respec option needs to be given I'm not grinding mobs for 18k just cause ZoS added an play style option that was not there before is now playable.

I'm guessing they either filed tickets or complained on social media. I saw very few mention it here on the forums.

Zos fails at comnunication.

Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I would prefer to not have a mandatory respec so I can see how my build still works with the changes since consoles have no access to the test server. With or without the "free" respec, I would still end up having to pay for another as I tweak my build.
I wish it wasn't all or nothing with ZOS, but that seems to be the pattern.
Also to add...
If the outcry was large enough for them to make this change, it just shows how many do not come to the forums. Everyone on the forums knew about the skill reset.
