ETA on Orsinium info?

Despite any rumors stating the contrary, we are still working on Orsinium, and plan to have it released before the end of the year as stated during our QuakeCon presentation a few months ago. That said, we still need to publish Imperial City on consoles, so let's at least get to that point first. ;)

If it comes after the release of Fallout 4, the day/year won't matter much.

So, with Imperial City having just launched, when do you think ZOS will roughly start releasing information on Orsinium? If there is an ESO live tomorrow, think it will be then?

There is nothing. No info, and No future plans for development.

ZOS has gone silent since release of the Imperial City. There hasn't even been an Update "Road Ahead" Development Post since July 2014 which was over a year ago. And there is nothing in the News section or development section about ANY future content or updates.

ESO has gone as far as it has gone, and as far as we can tell no future content is planned for development.

There is a lot of stuff that "Was" planned however, TG, DB, Spell Crafting, Orsinium, etc. But it was all pushed on the back burner and has now most likely been scrapped, as nothing has been updated or mentioned about any of it in almost a year.

As far as I can tell ZOS has abandoned ESO except for slight updates to the Crown store and Minute bug fixes every so often.

No moderators or devs have commented at all on any of the threads inquiring as to said future plans for content either in the last 3-6 months. And before that it was only "maybe's and "We had Planned" comments. But nothing for certain or guaranteed.

    TLDR:

Don't get your hopes up for "ANY" future content. ZOS has abandoned ESO and has no "Actual" plans for future content beyond "When they get around to it" and even then only Maybe.

WHAT? What carpet have you smoked?
How can you even think that Zenimax have abandonned ESO while they are working super hard on it! I mean, this idea that crossed your mind...where can it possibly came from?

i know that Zenimax is a bit slow...but considering the quality of their work (not speaking about concept and class balance or lag you can argue with), it totally make sense that they are slow. You only have that many hours in a day and in a week, and the task is HUGE. I don't get how poeple do not understand that. When I see the time and dedication i put into my videos, and how little videos I manage to create in comparison to all projects I've in my head...I totally understand than for devellopers to create WORLDS, it take so much time! So so so much time and effort!

We need to be patient and understanding! We seriously have the best dev team. they are passionated, they love their job and do their very best! Not saying what they do it's perfect. But they try!

Hopefully with Orsinium we will have access to the new crafting mats that are currently only available in IC. It would be nice if Orsinium also offered ways to earn TVS outside of IC PVP.

Why? That doesn't even make sense lore-wise.

    Why not?

Of course, not giving crafters access to the new materials in a PvE setting would be a nice continuation in their current policy of seeking to devalue crafters and crafting.... so I can see why they might still try that.

They're more likely to create yet another currency and crafting mats for Orsinium. This will encourage sales of the DLC.

Big Fallout fan here, but not bigger than Elder Scrolls.

Fallout 4 will command my attention for about 2 weeks. I will then shelve it until the modders fix all the bugs and design quirks that BGS has not addressed, or will not address. Since they are not releasing the modding tools right away, this could be quite some time. After that, it will be about a week per DLC plus maintenance on whatever mods I decide to release to the public.

Whether I return to ESO after Fallout depends on ZOS and where they are going with the game. If I feel I am returning to an MMO with TES wallpaper, I will pick up with where I left off in WoW.

Whether they create a new currency, or not, is comparatively irrelevant with respect to whether they make it available to solo-PvE or not.

That said, I don't see them abandoning the open-world harvesting they established in the 1-50 zones. If you have to buy the DLC to get access to the harvesting nodes, then they don't really need to create a new currency just to make it available. They would already have this material available for a currency in IC, Tel Var stones.

Hmm I don't know why people say this, Fallout can only last so long while ESO is an MMO. Once Fallout hypes dies down people will come back most likely

Signs point to October. No dev wants to be busy during the holiday season.

That's not up to the development team. It's up to Zenimax Media.

Clearly they're going to be in over their heads because Holiday is time for Fallout 4, and you just know that at least 80% of the console playerbase is going to abandon ESO for FO4.

FO4 won't last long, like no singleplayer game ever does. 95% of the players that pre-order FO4 will stop playing it in 1-2 months.

Yeah but by the time people stop playing FO4, they will have forgotten about ESO.

I usually don't pick up Bethesda games until after the modding tools are out (since usually by that time they're already on sale), which means that my winter will be up for grabs, mainly because if ZoS doesn't get on the ball with this game and drop the whole "let's blanket nerf everything" shenaningans I'll probably start digging into my backlog.

ZOS Promised (I use this losely) TG, DB, and Spell Crafting (Not to mention the pvp part of the crime system and joining the city guards faction etc, but we wont go there) 2 years ago.

Yes, they have it now scheduled for release.... next year (So 3 years).... But it's too little too late.

ZOS need to release Spell Crafting, TG, and DB + Any other content they have advertised before March of next year making ESO an actual complete game, ready for "Real" expansions",

or ESO does not stand a chance, I wont say why because I signed a NON-D, but lets say after next summer (If all goes well) you'll forget ESO ever existed unless they get their *** together and fast.

2 years is long enough for other games to release entire 30gig expansions (Plural) with months worth of content if not more. Yet the only thing ESO has released is a pitiful DLC content with about 10 hours tops of content (If that).

So whoever said the devs do there best and Zenimax is working on stuff....

Please, save the white knight fanboy stuff for people who are also delusional, because the REAL TES FANS, left ESO for the most part a long time ago,.

Those of us that DO remain with the slight HOPE that ZOS will get their head out of their asses have our bags packed and sitting in the closet, and not a day goes by that we don't look at them and wonder if it's really time to go.

I mean lets be Honest the game UI doesn't even have "BASIC" functions without Addons, let me name a few:

    * UI has no clock
    * UI has no Minimap
    * UI does not show buffs or debuffs, or skill pop ups for special triggers
    * UI has no real functionality info with which to help players understand whats going on around them.

These are features that should have been in since release, have been requested, since release, and yet are still not in game 2 years later.. I mean seriously when many of the skills use those very functions (Or the tool tip says they are supposed to).... THEY SHOULD BE IN THE DAMN GAME.

I'm expected to go to multiple media venues (twitch, youtube, facebook, reddit, craigslist, etc) to get some official word on upcoming products? And how long is that youtube video? hours long?!?! You expect people to sit on their asses and watch a youtube when a 1-page PDF could summarize their plans and, more importantly, put it in writing? That's it. Just a single 1-page PDF that says, "old business: patches upcoming for imperial city. new business: next DLC planned for release 20-Dec-2015. Check it out on beta 01-Nov-2015. Misc News: bugs the Devs are working on - <item 1>, <item 2>, etc". I can read that while I'm sitting on the toilet.

How about a News section on your website?

It's been a long standing complaint around here that ZoS put out too much information via third party avenues.

I wonder what games you are referring to. ESO is far from dominating the market but I dont see any AAA mmo coming in the near future that may “kill” ESO. WoW new expansion? I dont think it attracts the same group of people; EQN? I thought Its pretty dead, no?

Dude, ESO came out 1 year 5 months ago. And the promises did not start after the first 6 months of bug fixes and mediocre "content" additions. Where the hell did you get 2 years? Two years don't start until April, 2016. Links or it did not happen :)

And for the rumor spreading rest of you, at least go watch the latest ESO Live (EP 25 i thinkEP 23), @ZOS_RichLambert, the /lurk man himself, talks about play testing through Orsinium, Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood. He even mentioned part of Orsinium, the new "Arena", which I guess is something like DSA. (Lets not kid ourselves, we are never getting a PvP arena :)).

    Chill :)

I can say that this is where I sit, but even after I leave there will still be others.

I will not be going to the game you have cleverly mentioned above. I looked at it closely and, like the "would you play ESO if you were not a TES fan", it is not even on the same planet as my radar. I do know where I will be going after ESO, but it will not be there.

It's Not EQN and the Developers/Studio are keeping it quiet. It wont actually be announced until next Spring/Summer and then released shortly after. It's not a well known Studio either.

Kind of Like No one had Heard of CCP 13 years ago when EvE Online Came out, But everyone Knows who they are now.

This studio is similar. They care more about game quality, and experience, and the enjoyment of the fans, more then Money and hype and have the mentality to let the work show for itself.

Still not going to tell you who they are :P Or what it is. Would rather remain on the project :P. But suffice it to say something is coming, and it's something big.

People keep calling Orsinium a "solo PvE zone", but will that really be true? Will there finally be ENDGAME content tailored for solo players? Will there be solo Trials? Solo leaderboards? Will Best-in-Slot gear be attainable by solo players?

The sooner ZOS answers these questions, the better, so that players can set their expectations appropriately.

That is what they have suggested it will be previously. It is supposed to offer content similar to the Alliance zones; so expect a zone questline (to be based around King Kurog's status as a Covenant leader, and the opposition to that by the Malacath-worshipping Orcs of the Wrothgar countryside), a number of solo/duo delves, a public dungeon, and a collection of Dark Anchor style events. I wouldn't expect solo Trials (because that's not what Trials are), but solo leaderboards are a possibility with the suggested Arena content.
