Not even four days into IC and you're already asking for info on Orsinium???

I certainly am because I have no interest in the IC.

    Orsinium CANNOT come soon enough.

    ^ This. ^

I don't begrudge the PvPers their IC, as paying customers, they're entitled to new content too. However, as a non-PvP gamer, I am looking forward more to Orsinium. I got PvP gaming out of my system a LONG time ago; now I'm a quester, trader and crafter.

RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

Right there with you, although I have been trying to squeeze what PvE I can out of IC in the mean time, but it is not a simple task with the all consuming zerg waves that patrol the streets and sewers sometimes.

Yeah I think you're right. Bear mounts will likely be tied to Orsinium in the same way that the Mind-Shriven Horse is tied to IC. If you're lucky, maybe one of them will be available in-game rather than from the Crown Store (like one of the IC pets).

I just hope people are wrong about Orsinium being VR18. We don't need another VR increase. Lvl 50 would be the best level to stick Orsinium at.

They have stated that they do not see any additional gold mounts, so my guess is that the bear mounts will be Crown only.

In the past, I have stated that they will be going to VR 18 because of the way they phrased the reason for going to VR 16. Itemization requires it and people need something to achieve. Most people view the level cap, or rank cap in this case, as something to achieve and they want the armor and weapons to scale appropriately.

This is a dead end road for ZOS and I am really curious how far they will go down this road before they stop. They cannot continue to increase Veteran Ranks with each DLC. If they remove the ranks, every DLC with new and improved Rank itemization will have to be redone. If each DLC increases the cap, and they keep Ranks, then new players will really only need the last DLC for the best armor and weapons and can grind past the missing DLC. If they do not raise the cap, then max level characters will question whether to buy the DLC since it does not offer anything better than what they have now.

The new DLC areas are going to be for everyone who buys them, leveled to the character. This is going to make "Elder Scrolls with Friends" even more of an Impossible Dream. Itemization will have to be scale across the entire player base, so a level 5 character could have the new armor set of Rainbow Invulnerability. Open world areas will have to present level appropriate monsters, quests, delves, dungeons, and items. Will a Level 5 running around Orsinium even see anyone higher than Level 10? Will the DLC zones seem empty due to fragmentation? Will there be a reason for a max level character to even buy the zone?

They have quite the challenge ahead of them, and (sorry ZOS) I am not convinced that they have what it takes to make this work. Shock me ZOS... do something intelligent.

If Orsinium is to be relased "for Christmas" I'd say around December 20th at the latest. IC went up on PTS about a month before relase? So first info likely early November.

Im looking forward to Orsinium a lot too. I have an RP playthrough planned with an Orsimer character I have in mind as well, (will be my first Orc in any ES game) I think Ill wait to start it until it gets released, in case any information we learn from it could help define his backstory and place in society.

Which means PC release by early December so that we can work out the bugs for them :)

Main studio development seems oddly unaware of holidays, including Christmas, so I would not bet my marbles on it. The only reason that they might release it in December is because that is the end of the Quarter. If the end of the Quarter was in January, we would see Orsinium in January. We still might see it in January because it is "not ready".

However, the Crown Store part of the studio is certainly aware of Christmas and all that is has to offer.

Why is that unusual; companies often release future information when releasing current products. It shows their customers that they have a vision and a course set into the future and provides their customers with confidence and the ability to plan ahead with their dollars.

Plan on it sometime over the next 3 months. Based on a Yahoo article that was talking about DLC releases, they plan to release one each quarter. That make Orsinium 2015 QTR 4, Dark Brotherhood 2016 QTR 1 and Thieves Guild 2016 QTR 2.

Here's the link from the post I put about the article.

Besides wanting to solo a dungeon, there are currently no dungeons where you can "pick up" randoms inside of it. Delves/Public Dungeons don't count, assuming you're comparing the new dungeons to those.

Meh. 95% of people know that they should not pay any attention to statistics involving 95% of something.

Firor never said anything about fiscal quarters. 4 Q 2015 ends on Dec 31, 2015, no matter when their financial reports and taxes are due.

The complicating factor is more to do with holidays at the end of the year. Things get busy at that time of the year. I mean, how much time do they have left for Orsinium and PTS testing once you finish up with the Crown turkey and giblets meal, the Pilgrim costume, the random Crown winter presents, and the Saint Nicholas themed costume.

So, with Imperial City having just launched, when do you think ZOS will roughly start releasing information on Orsinium? If there is an ESO live tomorrow, think it will be then?

There is nothing. No info, and No future plans for development.

ZOS has gone silent since release of the Imperial City. There hasn't even been an Update "Road Ahead" Development Post since July 2014 which was over a year ago. And there is nothing in the News section or development section about ANY future content or updates.

ESO has gone as far as it has gone, and as far as we can tell no future content is planned for development.

There is a lot of stuff that "Was" planned however, TG, DB, Spell Crafting, Orsinium, etc. But it was all pushed on the back burner and has now most likely been scrapped, as nothing has been updated or mentioned about any of it in almost a year.

As far as I can tell ZOS has abandoned ESO except for slight updates to the Crown store and Minute bug fixes every so often.

No moderators or devs have commented at all on any of the threads inquiring as to said future plans for content either in the last 3-6 months. And before that it was only "maybe's and "We had Planned" comments. But nothing for certain or guaranteed.

    TLDR:

Don't get your hopes up for "ANY" future content. ZOS has abandoned ESO and has no "Actual" plans for future content beyond "When they get around to it" and even then only Maybe.

Despite any rumors stating the contrary, we are still working on Orsinium, and plan to have it released before the end of the year as stated during our QuakeCon presentation a few months ago. That said, we still need to publish Imperial City on consoles, so let's at least get to that point first. ;)

    Hmmm where to start.....

THIS is ZOS' twitch channel which you can watch every other Friday for the most up-to-date and relevant news. On that page select the tab "past broadcasts" where you can watch almost every session to date.

THIS is the 2015 Quakecon presentation Gina was referring to which aired on the Bethesda twitch channel (another good one to bookmark).

you simply haven't done your homework ;)

@ZOS_GinaBruno I always thought it would be a brilliant idea to sticky these links with a banner or whatever seeing as a lot of players don't even know they exist.

I hope they don't do the scaling anything like how you've described it here, because there's at least one way to do full-zone scaling that has every player fighting enemies of appropriate difficulty level, while still allowing players of all levels to interact, quest together, and help each other out in the same fights.

    Basically it works like this:
Outgoing damage (and heals) get scaled to the level of the target.

So say you've got a level 5 player fighting a level 25 mob. When the level 5 player attacks the level 25 mob, the damage his attacks do is scaled up to what it would be if the player were level 25. Conversely, when the level 25 mob attacks the level 5 player, the damage the attacks would do is scaled down to what it would be if the mob were level 5.

The same goes for heals. Say you've got 3 players in a group: a level 5, a level 10, and a level 25. The level 10 uses a heal that hits all 3 of them. The amount of damage it heals for the level 5 is scaled as if the healer were level 5, the amount of damage it heals for the level 25 is scaled as if the healer were level 25, and the amount of damage it heals for the level 10 healer is not scaled.

You could even set it up so that there's still a noticeable difference in power by making it so that there's a range within which there is no scaling (probably 5 levels in each direction for the target), and if a character is outside that range then it is only scaled to the 5 level limit.

So if we go back to our first example of a level 5 player fighting a level 25 mob, when the player attacks the damage will be scaled up to what it would have been if the player were level 20 (the maximum difference of 5 levels being in effect), and when the mob attacks the player the damage will be scaled down to what it would have been if the mob were level 10 (again, the maximum difference of 5 levels being in effect).
